You are confusing Doulglas Kennedy also listed as 6’4” with Philip Carey, as it was Kennedy who stood next to 6’51/2” Chuck Connors and not Carey. Philip Carey seemed the same height as Rock Hudson in the movie they appeared in with Donna Reed. Every bit of 6’4” without shoes.

Definitely a proper 6'4 guy. Actually had a bit more than two inches on Lee Van Cleef in The Nebraskan!

6'4" looks good, he wasn't far south of Clint Walker in Scream of the Wolf and he does look taller than Peter Graves also in that flick....

In an episode of The rifleman with Chuck Connors 6'7' he stands next to him and I would say that being 6'4' is about right.

Just watched "Operation Pacific" with John Wayne and Philip Carey. Carey is at least an inch taller than Wayne.

Strange but in this it looks the other way round! Maybe he was a full 6'4 then but I thought he seemed a little shorter than Keel in the film.

Noticably taller and wider than Gary Cooper in Warner's early 50's "Sprinfield Rifle". Looked massive next to most of the actors he appeared with except a western with Rock Hudson ("Gun Fury")in '53. Appeared a tad shorter and leaner than Hudson, but several inches taller than co-star Leo Gordon who was about 6'2".
