To me, he is and always has been, a solid 6ft (1.83 m).

Peak: No less than 183-183.5cm zone evening and woke up at 6ft1. Looked tall in The Rock, Leaving Las Vegas and Con Air. Stacked up well opposite guys like Cusack, Connery and Chinlund.

Today: Looking 182cm range at times but also can still pull off 6ft. Bit of weight gain, rubbish posture as always but nothing noticeable has been lost


Strong case to do without a peak and current. I wouldn't bet on him losing half an inch or anything

Found this website while discussing a true story with a friend and was looking for quick "internet" proof". Without reading any of the answers here... I met Cage on the day he married the Arquette girl at the Cliff House in San Francisco. I was at Tosca's in North Beach with two friends in the late afternoon. Cage was the only other person there, standing and drinking at the bar. I was in film school. This was spring of 95, I believe. I had just seen "Red Rock West" and loved it. Approached him, chatted, and that's when he told me it was his wedding day. He'd had enough of the party at the Cliff House and decided to cab it across town to be alone for a bit.

We had a couple drinks. Nice guy. But NO WAY is he 6 foot tall. I'm 5'10". He was wearing boots, and when he stood up straight, was barely taller than myself. My guess, maybe 5'10". Based on one meeting, standing right next to him. And he was wearing boots. I remember this because it struck me that he seemed way shorter in person. Later, I would produce television and meet all sorts of celebrities. A lot of the men were weird about their height, probably because they were often much shorter than you'd think.

It's embarrassed to say women had longer inseam if you know why. 33" isn't short for 6'0 men maybe if Cage is a women he would get 34.5" inseam. Typical 5'11-6'1 guy had 33" inseam, it's not that every inch a person grow had gain 1" inseam longer, some taller people had shorter torso longer legs and some had more proportional upper body and legs. I'm 6'5 1/2 and my inseam measure at 36.5" and some people thought i had a 38" inseam which is not true unless measure with boots on.

Then in movies like the rock and face off he could look like a weak 185 guy but hat was probably because of his build, angles and the fact that he was the hero in the movies . Its like arnold they do everything to make him look 6 foot 2 in movies.

nicolas cage and harrisonf ord would have been extremely close in height at peak. i have seen him in a couple movies lately ( really like almost all his movies from 90s til 2001) he look 184 range in alot of them. but he doenst look a mm over 6 foot in con air. Sounds a bit silly but a solid 6ft guy like him (183-183.5cm) with his build could get guessed from a distance as high as 6ft2-3, especially in the 80’s-90’s when he was a rake. The boots he used to wear really did deliver in making him look taller and he probably was hitting 6ft2 range in them.

@Rourke Cage hair mostly don't look 1/2 inch that little more like 1-1.5" high sometimes. If he look 6'0 a hair to you he did be a flat 5'11 or less. I did go with barefoot now he should have lost a fraction and peak 6'0.

He edged out John Travolta, and I felt as if he didn’t appear to be a full 2” inches shorter than Jim Carrey when you look closely at the photos of the two together. Nicolas Cage definitely has a longer head than Jim Carrey does, along with a lower eye level, and the eye level difference appears to be 4 CM. He also was just barely shorter than Sean Connery did back in 1996 (Sean was at most a fraction shy of 6’2” at that point, and was 6’2 1/4”-1/2” in his peak. If anything, I think that he’s over 6’0”.

I knew that Nicolas Cage was 6ft from his part in 'Face Off' where he played swapping faces with John Travolta, another 6 footer! What fun that sounds! NOT!!
I prefer to see Cage playing NICE parts because he does them so well. I loved him in 'It Could Happen to You!' and even in '8mm', a truly gritty and unsettling film, it is that much easier to watch because we can trust the judgement of his character, a loving husband and father.
He even played a likeable part in Con Air and the long hair really looked good on him! Yes, he has proved himself to be an excellent actor over the years and if he's in a film, I take it as a badge of recommendation!
