I think that hogan was close to 6’6 in his youth, 6’5 by his WcW days, 6’4.5 during his WWE run in the 2000’s, and now stands about 6’3. Anyone saying he was under 6’5 peak are just incorrect.
Canson said on 12/Sep/22
At his peak He was more 6’5.25 than 6’4.75 but probably 6’4.5-5 by his early 30s and probably 6’4 by the early or mid 90s

He only looked about ⅛ taller than 6'2¼ Lesnar at 2014, but considering he wasn't standing at his best, while Lesnar's posture couldn't be any straighter than he stood, he also was standing on one foot on his tippy toes.
6'3 now.

Hogan: 6’4.75”
Sid: 6’6.25”
Taker: 6’6.5”
Big John Studd: 6’6.5”
Andre: 6’11”

Scott Hall: 6’4.5”
IMO, to me…it’s pretty obvious.

@Harry Sachs: His peak may have been short lived and maybe he was 6’5.5” at that point. He looked a hair over 6’5 with Trump in the 80s so maybe he was 6’5.25 at worst. However his peak was likely running out in his 30s and he had probably begun to lose serious height by then. Maybe today 6’3 flat at a low and he was 6’5.5” peak at most

James.B 172cm. I saw Hogan in 1980 when I was a kid. He stopped right by us on his way to the ring. He taller than my 6'4" Grandfather, but not by a lot, my guess is an inch or so. So, 6'5 1/4" is the most I give Hogan for a peak. Intangibles that I don't know are, was my grandfather still a full 6'4" in his early 60's? I know he wasn't taller than me 10 years later when I was in the Army. Also, could Hogan have had an advantage over my grandfather in footwear? To me Hogan was 6'5"ish peak. Meaning he could have been a little over at best or a little under at worst.
James.B 172cm said on 13/Aug/22
RP- 6’6 1/2 is debatable for a peak Sid so hogan could look 6’4.75 in comparison at that stage. So maybe Hogan was 6’5.25 or at most 6’5.5 peak.

@ James B….
Sid had admitted to being only being 6’6” barefoot or maybe 6’6.25”.
A 6’2.75” Lex vs a 6’6.25” Sid…3.5” height difference. And honestly, that’s what k always saw between Sid & Lex. Was a 3.5” height difference. And to me, Sid looked 1.75” taller than early 1990’s Hulk Hogan.
So…
Sid: 6’6.25”
1992 Hogan: 6’4.5”
Lex: 6’2.75”
Could seriously indeed be the case. And probably is…
This makes a peak Hulk Hogan actually 6’5” & not 6’6”…6’5.25” MAX (Rob)?? 😉😉

@James B 172cm: Lex was shorter than me in the late 80's by at least 1/2". Maybe more. I was an Army measured stocking foot 6'3 1/4". I turned to my buddies in disbelief, because I was expecting Luger to be 6'4". They all verified to me that Luger was shorter by at least that half inch. If Lex had been my same height or taller, then that's what I would be saying. But he was shorter. For what it's worth the buddy that had us all there had seen Hogan in person multiple times and said he was closer to my height than our 6'6" roommate, so it's not likely Hogan was ever 6'6".

Also regarding the stare down with 6'3" Lex Luger in 1995, Luger had footwear advantage (maybe 3.5 cm boots) over Hogan who was wearing his trademark yellow boots (maybe 2 cm).
Luger - 190.5 cm + 3.5 cm = 194 cm
Hogan - 195 cm + 2 cm = 197 cm
Hence the difference is 3 cm or approximately 1.5 inches.

Regarding the Trump pics.
That was prime cowboy boot era for Hogan so he has a 2”boost in most pics of the era. Also Howard Stern is slouching in most of those pics.
I’m surprised there are no good photos of Hogan and Stern together.
That being said Hogan does look very large indeed.
Being as generous as I can be I’d go 6’5.5 peak, losing height slowly through the 80’s.
Even his very old pics with the original WWF belt, the one before the winged eagle you can see his hips linked to a side.
I’ll go 6’5 by 90.
When he came off the gas in 91 he looks to have lost a bit as well, almost like the muscle held him up and we he lost it his full body sagged.
6’4.5 by 92 and with Sid, he seemed to hold this through to 2000. I’d give him 6’4 “if” he stood tall in his 03 return.
When I met him in 2014 or 2015 he was still over 6’3. I know too many folk who are a measured 6’3 and slouched Hogan had them beat when they’re slouched.
His lower body was a mess though. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had the ability to stand as straight as possible and maybe touch 6’4.
I’d guess with his bad posture he stood an actual 6’2.5.
Standing next to him for 10 mins watching the queue go down you could see both knees always clearly bent, one more than the other.
His hips tilted down at one side and relatively skinny legs beneath his jeans.
His arms were huge and way too long for his upper body.
Having met so many wrestlers through the years I expected Hogan to be smaller. He’s one of the few that had that X factor still, he was stand out massive guy, especially in a t shirt. Much thicker than modern day Sid, Taker or Dolph Lundgren. Still carrying a serious set of arms.
He seemed a very chilled dude as well.
I was 6’025 and 180lbs with 15” arms and I’m tiny next to him. His arms look twice mine.

The first time Hogan started looking shorter was probably the mid-90's.
If he lost anything noticeable before around 1994/1995 I'd be very surprised, although you can't rule out maybe 1/4 of an inch. He looked consistently a flat 6'5 from the late 70's up until around 1995 ish, after that he started struggling against other 6'5 guys such as Hall, Brian Adams etc.. and Nash was dwarfing him.
He was down to 6'4 range by his WWE return in 2002, general wear and tear/posture and some surgeries seemed to chop off some height in the late 90's and early 00's.
In recent years will all sorts of different surgeries his height is all over the place. He still looks 6'3 when he stands properly though. I'd suspect if he reaches 70 he'll fall under it.

I would disagree with a few of course, and some height loss like 3 inches of Kane is pushing things a bit much

@RP very possible a 6’1.5” to 6’2” range on Atlas. Was a few inches taller then my dad who was around 5’11” or a bit over at the time. He had massive arms. Almost didn’t look normal on his frame.
viper said on 24/Apr/22
SR that would be fantastic.
RP said on 23/Apr/22
Rob, Tony Atlas needs a page ASAP. IMO…Peak height was 6’1.75”…
By the early 2000’s he was more like 6’0.5”.
BTW…just looked at more & better footage of Mark Henry & 2000’s + Tony Atlas. And it’s by no means a 4” difference, LOL!!!! It was actually 2”. And check out the footwear. Tony was typically always in 1” dress shoes. And Mark Henry was mostly I. Massive 2” wrestling boots. Zoom in…do the research. Peak Mark Henry was about 6’2”
SR1279 said on 23/Apr/22
@David Banner I assure you in 1986 Atlas was 6’2” without a doubt. Next time I am at my dads office I will try and find his photo album that has pictures of all the people he has hosted over the past 45 years. Might be surprised at how some of these wrestlers really stack up to the listed heights. They are not all inflated. Especially the older ones from the late 70’s.
David Banner said on 19/Apr/22
@SR1279
Let me preface by saying - I respect your opinion and think it’s awesome you got to meet so many of those guys!
If you google Mark Henry and Tony Atlas - Mark towers over him.
Mark is 6’1.5” tops
Has Tony lost 4” in height?
Canson said on 19/Apr/22
@SR1279: I can see that mark around lunch. But not in. The afternoon: and to me 6’5.5 or .75 is a best case for lunch. 6’5.25-.5 range in the afternoon with 6’5.5 a best case 6’5.25 worst. I think Rob would correct the problem if he reduced it to 6’5.5 though since his prime may have been short lived. 6’5.5 is the sweet spot imho since it covers a 6’6 morning height and he very well could’ve held this at his low in the afternoon in his absolute prime
SR1279 said on 18/Apr/22
@David Banner I have met Atlas several times over the years. He’s absolutely 6’2”. Possibly a hair over. Met Hulk also. 6’3” now. Possibly a hair over and met him when I was a kid and in my opinion was in the 6’5.5”-6’6” range. Got to meet a lot of the wrestles growing up. My family had a limo business and would pick wrestlers up from the venues and take them to restaurants or back to their hotels.
David Banner said on 17/Apr/22
@sr1279. If you google Atlas and Hogan - there’s a pic of them standing face to face and Hulks only a couple inches taller. Both are prime heights.
Atlas was not 6’2” either - that was his billed height
SR1279 said on 17/Apr/22
@Canson I can agree with anything between 6’5.5-6’6” when he was younger. I agree with you on he was never bigger then that. Happy Easter everyone!
Canson said on 17/Apr/22
@Public Enemy and SR1279: 6’5.75 at lunch like Public Enemy said maybe. 6’5.5 is a best case for his peak afternoon/evening. That to me should be his listing. 6’5.75 would be a good start
SR1279 said on 16/Apr/22
Looking at how Hulk stood up against Tony Atlas I can see 6’6” when he was a younger man. Not over that tho. Atlas was a legit 6’2” man.
Public Enemy said on 16/Apr/22
I don’t rule out 6’5.75 peak for a 21 year old Hogan.i
SeanR said on 15/Apr/22
Maybe one of the reasons Rob is keeping Hulk’s peak height at 6’6” is because of the pic with John Matuszak (6’7”) from the 80’s.
Very close in height for sure but Hogan had a tendency to wear cowboys boots back then. Hopefully Rob will come around and get Hogan down to his peak height of 6’5 1/2” but remains to be seen.

6'5 1/2 is really best case for Hogan. even 6'5 3/4 is too high. In the 90s he was already distinctly shorter than Sid Eudy and Dennis Rodman. He looked 6'4 range. Impossible he lost 2 inches then

I think Hogan was 6'5 max. Even in 1996, he wasn't much taller than Scott Hall at the birth of the NWO. Years prior to this, Scott Hall looked small compared to Sid. Hogan seemed short as well standing next to Sid who claimed 6'6 at one point I recall and may have worn lifts?
Canson said on 9/Mar/22
@SR1279: that’s probably fair. 6’5.5 peak and maybe 6’3.25 but that’s best case today. He may have been that until recently. Personally 6’5.5 and 6’3 flat. I think a more defined range is 6’2.75-6’3.25” and 6’5-6’5.5 peak for afternoon heights
SR1279 said on 8/Mar/22
@Kaptain Krunch they did bill him at 6’9” and 6’8”. I don’t believe 6’7” either. I’m almost positive he did hit 6’6” tho. Whether it was a morning measurement or he actually carried 6’6” middle of the day. My personal thoughts based on meeting him multiple times in the 80’s and now. 6’5.5” prime and 6’3.25” current. Possibly 6’3.5”.

Hulk Hogan and Lou Ferrigno are about the same height these days, 6'3"ish - Hogan was never more than 6'5"ish, as there absolutely is no way a 1980s professional "wrestler" would exaggerate his height by only two inches; heck - most civilians add an inch or more, IME. If Hogan was ever truly 6'7" barefoot (as he claimed), he'd have gone with 6'9" for his "wrestling" career. I say Hogan was 6'4 1/2" - 6'5" peak - 6'2 3/4 to 6' 3 1/4" now.

Zeus (Tom Lister) started off wearing a 2.50” super heel (like in the movie) and then switched over to a 1.75” heel to be more mobile in the ring. And it’s FACT that when Lister switched to the 1.75” heel, he was only 0.25” to 0.5” taller than Hogan when doing their in-ring stare downs. In the larger boots it was more like 1.25”. This points to a 1989-90 Tom Lister & Hulk Hogan being a bang on 6’5” barefoot. Just as Tom Lister has said in multiple interviews. He has many times said that during filming of the movie that he & Hogan were both 6’5” and that he, himself… was 315 lbs during filming (bulking up from 285 at the audition) and he said Hogan was 300-305 during the filming of No Holds Barred. Hogan, could perhaps have been 6’5.25” in 1989-1990. Peak 1979-early 80’s Hogan was 6’5.5”. Rob 100% needs to lower his peak to 6’5.5”….his current seems accurate (when he stands up straight)

SR1279 said on 3/Mar/22
@miko I’ve watched that match and I think Hulk edged him out by a 1/2”. Not the other way around. There’s a ton of pictures on line showing it. Lister looked to have had a thick heel. Not as think as the heel on that movie they played in but minimal of 2”.
miko said on 1/Mar/22
Hogan was about half an inch shorter in the ring than 6'5 Lister in the 1989 staredown.
Lister looked to have a small footwear advantage but if Hulk was 6'6 at that time he should've still been coming out taller. Listers footwear wasn't 1.5' bigger.
Hulk was generally looking 6'5 flat around the late 80's/early 90's, I'm struggling to see him having lost a full inch by his mid 30's.
SR1279 said on 1/Mar/22

On Don Muraco's podcast, he mentioned Hulk was 6'6 roughly 300 lb. While I doubt the weight, even if it was during the 80's in WWF, during his prime run, his height might be plausible, though I still think he is lower end of 6'5.

He was a lot wider than I expected, a genuinely huge guy, built like a block. He also seemed to be under the influence of some kind of downer. Him and neidhart could barely talk.

@ SR1279…
My honest opinion with meeting a 46 year old Greg Valentine in person back in 1997, and judging him @ 5’10.5” to maybe 5’10.25” ….I would guess at his peak he was 5’10.75” afternoon barefoot & 6’0” in sneakers/shoes. It’s funny….cause I’m now 46 years old myself. And I’m still 5’11” barefoot. As I was in 1997 at the age of at the age of 21.
Myself:
Fresh out of bed @ 05:00 AM: 5’11-1/4”
10:00 AM: 5’11-1/8”
13:00 PM: 5’10-7/8”
20:00 PM: 5’10-3/4”
So, I can judge 5’8” to 6’3” guys really, really well just from standing beside them & looking them in the face & eyes.

_____________________________
I agree. Lou Ferrigno was a good inch shorter than Jason Segel in I love you man. Sure, Lou probably lost some height by that movie, but doubtful he was ever more than 6'4" peak. Studd was taller than Hogan too. I know a lot of times Studds boots were stacked, but He still had Hogan by an inch barefoot to barefoot in my opinion. Sid sometimes wore thicker boots to, and Hogan likely lost a little by the time Sid was in the WWE, but even a peak Hogan I think would have been at least an inch shorter, maybe 1.5". By the time Hogan faced Sid, it probably was closer to a 2" difference. Just my opinion, but Peak Hogan 6'4.75"-6'5.25", Peak Studd 6'5.75"-6'6.25", peak Sid 6'6"-6'6.5", peak Ferrigno 6-3.75"-6'4.25"

Undertaker Frank I met studd back in 88 after a show at the ocean center here in FL. My step father use to own a private transport service in Central FL and would pick people up from different venues and take them to their hotels, for dinner or the airport. He picked up Studd and Greg Valentine. He took them to a restaurant on the beach in Daytona. After the riots in Miami he moved from down there up to the Sanford area but kept the same mind set about having a security guard ride with him. His security guard Don was 6’7” and change. I actually measured him in my step fathers garage. No shoes on so a legit 6’7” guy. I was in awe of how big he was and was surprised when he said sure, measure me. My mother took me down to the restaurant and we met Studd and Valentine. Valentine was 6’ maybe 6’1”. Him and my step dad were the same size and my step dad was a little over 6’. Even in his 70’s now he’s still 5’11”. Studd was the exact same size as Don the bodyguard. Identical. So Studd was at least 6’7” out of ring gear. That was around 6 that evening because the show was at 2 in the afternoon. Hogan in my opinion was 6’5.5” maybe 6’6”. Studd had at minimum 1” on Hogan if he was 6’6”.

Hulk at his peak was 6'5" and he came up to Andre's eye line exactly and we assume Andre's head was larger than the average 9-10" adult male head length maybe 12"-13" total length.. then Andre was probably about 7' even...

@GS1981: that’s not a bad estimate either. Only 1/2” less than I estimated and still around where everyone else has him. It’s definitely possible
SR1279 said on 12/Feb/22
GS1981 must be confusion. I don’t think he was 6’7”. I think he would have woke up a .25”-.5” over 6’6” and decreased in height to 6’5”-6’5.25” evening. So a 6’5.5” midday height as peak. No way he was under 6’5” in his prime. And from the last time I’ve seen him he was somewhere between the 6’3.25”-6’4” range. Not under 6’3” tho.

Two questions, in 2016 do you think he could’ve actually been 6’4 still? Also, is he known to wear lifts?
Editor Rob
I think his joint problems effected his ability to stand tall...and like Mick Foley and Nash, maybe had shrunk down a bit then regained a cm or so through surgery.
SR1279 said on 7/Feb/22
@GS1981 I’m not understanding your argument now? If you are 6’3.5” barefoot and Hall is 1.5” taller then you then that puts him at a 6’4” height flat. Hulk has lost height. That’s factual. How much? Who really knows. 2” is a fair give back. So if he’s 6’3” now flat then he was 6’5” as a youth. Which puts him at a 6’6” out of bed. I will go with that theory even tho I believe he was 1/2” bigger. So what’s the argument? I thought you said he was only 6’4” prime and 6’2” current?
Mike voorhees said on 6/Feb/22
More a 6-5 guy peak
SR1279 said on 5/Feb/22
Brutus was at the minimum 6’2” prime. Hogan towered him by minimum 4”. Some pictures show more but can’t see footwear. So those are not credible. The ones I’ve seen where they are both in flip flops show a 4” difference. So if Brutus drops to 6’1.5” evening height that puts Hulk at 6’5.5” evening. Brutus didn’t carry as much weight on him as Hulk did so I think he didn’t lose much height during the day. But Hulk, I see a full inch from morning to night he drops at his heaviest. I have no doubt that he hit 6’6” possibly 6’6.25”-6’6.5” out of bed. Just don’t know when that number curves. I’m gonna go with a 6’5.5” peak height. It makes the most sense.
GS1981 said on 4/Feb/22
@SR1279 with all due respect, me saying proof would be about as believable as the proof you are stating about knowing him in person, so in that regards do you have pics of said meetings?
This is the picture of me and Scott Hall in the Scott Hall thread when i met him here in England at a show about 5 years ago
Click Here , Scott was 1.5-2" taller than me but with noticiably bigger heels on his trainers, i am 6ft 3.5 barefoot, Scott Hall with those trainers on was around the 6ft 5 mark, Hall is always dead on the same Height as Hogan, so barefoot i'd say they are both men are about 6ft 3.75-6ft4.5ish
Canson said on 31/Jan/22
@GS1981: it wasn’t as much as 2-3” between Hogan and Taker at their peak heights. I’ve posted pics before where It was max 1.5-2”. I don’t think Hogan was 6’6 at his peak but 6’5 plus instead while Taker was 6’7”. Hogan is older than taker and has had more injuries and he has actually lost more height than Taker. Taker looks to have lost an inch whereas Hogan maybe 2-3” (surely not 4”). The loss is more likely in the 2-2.5” range unless he’s now under 6’3 which is possible being I haven’t seen recent pics. But I’m not sure SR1279 thinks hogan was near 6’7 as his estimate is similar to mine. 6’6 maybe a hair over out of bed and 6’5.25” in the afternoon
@Miko: I agree. Probably 2 cm between Sid and Taker. It’s likely that Taker was 6’7.25 lunchtime and 6’7 flat afternoon and that Sid was likely 6’6.25” in the afternoon. There is no consistency with the listings as some are morning, some lunch, some at their afternoon lows, and some in between.
SR1279 said on 30/Jan/22
@Canson I agree with you. 6’5.5” is a very good middle ground for peak. Splitting the difference of 6’5”-6’6”. I’m sure he hit all 3 of these heights during the day with 6’5.5” being his constant throughout. I lean towards a 6’5.25” evening height with his weight as much as it was early on. Maybe even 6’5” flat.
@GS1981 I respect your opinion I just know from seeing with my own eyes that it’s not correct. But to each their own. When you meet him in person and have correspondence outside of bull crap wresting then please feel free to accurately give an opinion worth validating.
miko said on 30/Jan/22
If Hogan was 6'6 a cowboy-booted Hulk would've been taller than both Taker and Sid if they were in normal footwear, I just can't ever imagine that.
For the record I think Sid and Taker were very close in height, Sid at 6'6.5 range and Taker 6'7.
If you'd have put Hulk in cowboy boots next to Sid in 1991 he would've still been looking up at him.
GS1981 said on 29/Jan/22
@SR1279 there is no way he was ever near 6ft 7, can you show me one pic of him looking bigger than other guys who were the same height as him later on like Hall and Jake Roberts when he was in his prime to back up that claim? and not pics where he could be stood on a box or funny angles etc.
Undertaker was never any bigger than 6ft 7 and in 1990 was noticeably 2-3" taller than Hogan as was Sid a 6ft 5/6 guy easily 2" taller in 91, Hogan was not bigger in say 84 than he was in 1990, he took no time off to get surgery.
You do not lose 4" from surgery, that is kayfabe to hide the inflated height claims, they inflated his height to make Andre seem bigger, i have seen USWA videos of them saying hes 6ft 5 which would be closer to the truth.
His boots did have a noticeable lift, flat bottomed, raised the same height straight across.

@GS1981 Hogan never wore lifts. The only thick boot he ever wore was in Rocky. All others were thin soles. I’ve met him several times outside of the wrestling gimmick. Been in his home and seen many many pictures from the 70’s, 80’s and up. He was without a doubt no shorter then 6’5” and that’s honestly to low but I’m not splitting hairs. I will say 6’6.25” out of bed and 6’5.25” in the evening. Maybe 6’5.5” if he wasn’t lifting heavy earlier on in the day. I’m only 6’ even. Barefoot but my friend is 6’2” and Hulk had him by minimum 1.25” both in flip flops in his garage. And when I was a kid I met him at the ocean center and he had on slider shoes. My brother who was 6’4” in 1988 was looking up to him. Top of his head was at Hulks eyebrow. 1.25”-2” So sorry bud. You’re wrong on your guesses. Good try tho.
Canson said on 27/Jan/22
@Rampage: well no worse than Henry making elaborate stories up about his chiropractor and Hogan being 6’8 9/16 or 6’9 1/4 🤣 🤣. But below 6’2 today is taking it just as far. To me he can look 6’2 with bad posture but below is absurd and above 6’6 is too at his peak although a 6’6.5 is tolerable only because he claimed 6’7”. I think a realistic range is 6’2-6’6.5 and 6’3-6’6 more believable But he never looked above about 6’5.5-6 in his day against the other wrestlers. But He’s still at least 6’3 or near unless he began shrinking more within the last year or so. I really would’ve said a year or so ago that he hasn’t lost but 2-2.5” tops. I would’ve said peak 6’5-6’5.5 and current 6’2.75 (worst case) to 6’3.25 (best case). He could look 6’3.5 at times a few years back so I’ll give him 6’3.25 since he looked 6’3 as well. He could’ve been a tad underlisted when Rob first gave him 6’3

Not taking in consideration footwear i'd say when Hogan and The Undertaker were wrestling in 1990 (91?) it looked like at least 2.5-3" in favor of the Undertaker who was always around 6ft 6/6ft 7, when they Wrestled again 2002? it looked like the same exact height difference in the staredown.
Scott Hall is the same exact size as Hulk Hogan and always has been, Scott Hall was billed at 6ft 7 and even 6ft 8 at times, i met Scott Hall, my picture is on the Scott Hall thread, i am 6ft 3.5 (194cm to be exact) and he was about 1.5" taller than me in noticeably higher shoes, so I'm guessing 6ft 4 maximum bare foot, about 0.5" taller than me, Jake Roberts was always billed between 6ft 4 to 5 and was the same height as these 2.
Assuming Andre was 7ft peak height and around 6ft 10 or 11 in the 80s as many state, I would say Hulk Hogan was never bigger than 6ft 4 bare foot, he did though use lifts when wrestling and other props in interviews, i have a very hard time believing Hogan was ever a legit 6ft 6.
Abyss is another one i met that was billed as 6ft 8 and he was the same exact height as me.
I get people shrink a tiny bit with age, I'm in my 40s and I'm the same exact height i was when i was 16, i don't believe back surgery's made him lose 4" in height, no chance, thats kayfabe believers wishful thinking and has he lost 4" in height that means the Undertaker did to, which he did not.

Canson said on 25/Jan/22
@SR1279: not sure how he got 6’7”. Maybe in shoes or maybe he was mismeasured. I have heard him say before that he was actually only 6’5” so that makes me wonder. 6’6-6’6.5 out of bed could explain it. Maybe he was really that range and his mom miscalculated or overestimated. And yes 6’5-6’5.5 afternoon/evening is a lock for his prime agreed

@ Ben Bell…
Blow up the beach pics of Sid & Vader. You’ll see that Sid’s flip flops are the 0.75” versions. Not the 0.3” ones. And Vader was wearing like 1.25” cross training sneakers. So, Leon only had at best maybe a 0.5” footwear advantage. That’s why I am saying that Sid in those photos is only 3 inches taller than Leon. Because he’s actually only 2.5” to 2.75” taller. I was also including the slight footwear advantage and calling it an even 3“. When both guys are in full ring gea, Sid was a strong 4” taller to even 4.5” taller. Sid did in fact wear a 1” lift in his boots throughout the majority of his career. Maybe not all of the time… but absolutely most of the time. And as the other guys have pointed out on here, there’s actually plenty of evidence that shows this throughout his career. Especially with peak Kevin Nash.
SR1279 said on 24/Jan/22
@Canson all good examples. Could be any of those ranges. But, the one thing we can definitely say is 6’6” out of bed and 6’5” getting into bed. The fractions of these ranges during a full day we probably will never know exactly what they were. Crazy to think people lose their over it and will name call and argue over 1/4”-3/4”. Lol. I will never agree with anything under 6’5” peak. He was clearly a big man in his prime. I agree with you on your ranges. Makes you wonder if his claim of a 6’7” was a legit rounded up measurement from a 6’6.25/.5” morning measurement by his mom. I mean if she was drawing a line on a wall and angled the pencil upward to draw a line could definitely add 1/2”or a fraction more. Here’s my opinion. 6’6.25 out of bed. 6’5.25” at night. 1/2”-3/4” add by a shorter person drawing a line looking up above his head and boom! There’s his 6’7” claim. Case closed. Lol

and that’s a fact. I’ve met Sheamus multiple times at a certain Grocery store and at FedEx Store. He’s barely taller than I am.

Hogan a hit over 6’5 peak. A hair over 6’3 today.
Regarding Sid wearing lifts, I’ve never seen any evidence. Those mentioning Sid and Vader on the beach. Sid was wearing very flat flip flops. I believe the 6’6 listing from Sid is honest. He had no reason to lie, he’s been listen as high as 6’9.

@RP: you’re also 100% spot on! I’ve also heard Sid wore lifts. I could see it with Taker who didn’t always wear them as he could look shorter at times and almost the same height at times.
Canson said on 20/Jan/22
@SR1279: yea but if he’s dipping to 6’5.25 he wouldn’t be 6’6 midday if he’s 6’6 out of bed. That’s a 6’5 3/8 midday as midday and afternoon are only about 1/8” apart. Best case is they’re 1/4” apart. I could see 6’6 out of bed or 6’6.25 if he lost an inch. I personally lose 3/4” from out of bed until afternoon. My afternoon and evening are the same usually. My lunchtime after 5 hours is only 1/8” above those.
Now if he’s 6’6:5 out of bed then I could see 6’5 7/8 midday or 6’6,25 out of bed 6’5 5/8 midday. I could see the latter more so than the former but don’t rule it out but I’m not so sure he lost the full inch although I don’t rule it out

@Canson I can get on your way of thinking. I tend to lean towards a 6’6” midday height from 1977-1987/1988. I never met him back then other then going to wrestling shows and a few autograph signings they would have back in 86. I can definitely see a 6’5.25” evening height after a long day of working out. Maybe even down to 6’5” flat at times. I wouldn’t go any lower then that tho. Definitely not under 6’5” to 6’5”+ evening. I’ve met him and have spent a little time around him outside the whole wrestling gimmick and he’s surprisingly bigger then he seems in pictures stature wise. It’s pretty obvious he was a taller man by his body proportions. He has huge hands and longer arms then what a normal 6’3”-6’4” man would. I firmly believe he gets out of bed and would measure 6’4” if he stood straight. Midday 6’3.5”-6’3.25” and 6’3” flat evening.
RP said on 18/Jan/22
Canson is 100% spot on!!
Peak afternoon barefoot heights:
Hogan: 6’5.5” (Max)
Undertaker: 6’7”
Sid: 6’6.25…note: Sid wore lifts in his boots. Don’t believe me, check out his beach pics with Big Van Vader vs his in ring gear pics with Big Van Vader.
Out of ring gear, Sid was only 3” taller than Vader. In ring gear Sid looked 4.5” taller than Vader. There are many more examples proving Sid wore lifts in his ring boots. Likely why he broke his ankle/leg.
Canson said on 17/Jan/22
@Rampage: I think a downgrade to 6’5.75 would even be a start. But 6’5.5 would be the best fit since some do believe he was 6’6 and he looked near that with Trump. I’d say one of the three assuming just 3/4” loss per day. My personal vote is 6’5.25 being I go with afternoon height like Rob uses for himself as my 6’4.25 is my normal low (3/4” less than my out of bed) and same with Rob if he’s 5’8.75 to 5’8.875 out of bed. But I doubt Rob will list him at 6’5.25. He said the lowest is 6’5.5” and I’d see Rob list him 6’5.75 before he does
6’6.25 out of bed (6’6.5 maybe at a stretch)
6’5 7/8 after an hour (6’6 1/8 maybe at a stretch)
6’5.75 after 2 (6’6 maybe stretch)
6’5 5/8 after 5 (6’5 7/8 maybe stretch)
6’5 1/2 after 6-7 (6’5.75 stretch)
If he’s a guy that lost a full inch maybe he got down to 6’5.25 or .5 by evening
Or 6’6 out of bed (6’5.75 worst case)
6’5 5/8 after an hour
6’5.5 after 2
6’5 3/8 after 5
6’5.25 after 7-8 (6’5 flat worst case)
I’d say he was somewhere in between the two. 6’5.75-6’6.5 out of bed with the top being if he lost a full inch and 6’5-6’5.5 afternoon height. I think if Rob reduced it half inch it’s justified being Taker was 1.5-2” taller and is listed 6’7.25” and being Sid is listed 6’6.25. Sid should’ve had an inch but .75” is acceptable
James B 171.5cm said on 14/Jan/22
Well I think in the 1980s he could pull of looking 6’6 and In fact height wise during that era he reminded me of how tall Sid Eudy could look. You have to remember as well that there are not any photos or video footage of hogan and Sid next to each other in the 80s.
Sometime between the late 80s and early 90s hogan must have lost at least half an inch. Surgeries or wrestling injuries could have been the reason.
Canson said on 11/Jan/22
@Ian: I agree. He was probably even under 6’5 sometime in the 80s. I think peak absolute best case was 6’5.5 (he did wear thick boots). I’ve had 6’5.25 although I don’t know when he began to lose height. I think it’s a consensus here that 6’5.5 is a better peak listing than 6’6” however

I could live with 6’5.5 since other guys here that are listed at that look like they trend more toward 6’5 than 6’6 meaning they’d be 6’5.25 guys that hit 6’6 out of bed
SR1279 said on 26/Dec/21
I’ve met Hulk many times. Got several pictures of him with me and with my buddy at his home. 6’6” max is what I could see for him at 21-25. That’s a morning measurement. I have no doubt in that. 6’5” - 6’5.5” evening at that same age. As for now I say 6’3” - 6’3.5” possibly 6’4” out of bed. Looks to be 3” - 3 1/2” taller then my buddy who is a little over 6’ 1/2”. Definitely not under 6’3” tho.
Canson said on 24/Dec/21
@Rising: interesting. Yea it could be 6 now. Hulk has lost a lot but a lot meaning 2-3” range
@Miko: hogan at his absolute peak could’ve been more 6’5.5”. I don’t rule that out but I rule out any higher only because he looked max 6’5 or 6’5.25” like you said when he stood with Sid who was a good 3 cm taller (worst case maybe 1”). I think he may have lost height by then being he began wrestling earlier but I also don’t rule out 6’5-6’5.5 range peak either because we didn’t see enough of him before that

Here's a good full pic of Sly and Hogan in 2005:
Click Here Of course, Sly has elevator shoes.
Prime, I think Sly was a weak 5'9" or 5'8.75" range, but Sly shockingly still looks like he'd be 5'8.5" from 2018-2021. Not sure how much height Hogan has lost by now, but it probably is about 6" now as Sly really hasn't lost more than a relatively small amount of height while Hogan has lost a lot.

A prime Hogan and Sly the difference should have been around 8 inches, (6'5 vs 5'9) so not a million miles off a full head difference.
Today it's likely around 6 inches. It did look 5 inches back in 2005 but Sly was in some absolute monster footwear.
Canson said on 18/Dec/21
@Rising: agreed. I’ve lobbied for a downgrade for his peak listing to 6’5.5” personally I think more along the lines of a 6’5.25 afternoon 6’6 out of bed but 6’5.5” is a pretty decent compromise since Rob won’t go below that mark. Clearly he doesn’t line up to 6’6 with Taker Sid etc tho

Rising174cm said on 17/Dec/21
It's clear that the difference is nowhere near as big as it was with the platform, which was used to make him appear near 7' like an Andre the Giant figure. The angle is too high to estimate, but Sly at a minimum 5'8.5" and a maximum 5'9" (in line with the 174-175 cm Brigitte Nielsen said he was in 2003) and Hulk at 6'5"-6'5.5" range makes sense.
People use the 2005 photos where Sly has a camera advantage to exaggerate how close they looked, but they're pretty much side by side in this full pic:
Click Here Even factoring in Sly's elevator shoes and Hogan's surgeries, it'd be clear that the difference was never anywhere near what they made it look in the film even if we didn't have the photo of Hulk on the platform. Hulk was 52 there. Realistically, how much height do we think could have lost by that age? I know he was already claiming to have shrunk from 6'7" to 6'4", but Hulk is famous for, um, "embellishing." Obviously, Mr. T has too much of a camera advantage there, but in their primes during the 80s, the difference between Hulk and Mr. T was more 6" than 7"+.
As for weight, they probably added about 100 pounds for the character. Stallone himself was at his lightest weight outside of Victory and you can see this in his face. They were still billing Rocky as over 200 pounds in the first fight and over 190 in the second, yet his real weight was about 163 pounds.

Even if we account for Hulk having a small loss of height by 1991/1992 (which is unlikely), Sid was at times at least 1.5' taller in staredowns and out of ring segments.
A 6'6 Hulk and a 6'6.25 Sid just doesn't make any sense to me.
I've personally got Hulk at 6'5/6'5.25 peak and Sid 6'6.5/6'6.75 range. I can't go as low as 6'6.25 peak for Sid as for one he looked taller than that most of the time and two, it could drop Hulk slightly below 6'5 peak which doesn't seem right at all.

I think as for his absolute peak daytime height, pretty much 6'5 flat.
I can see him having woken up around the 6'6 range or slightly under, I suspect he would've lost close to an inch through the day. So for at least some portion of the morning he would've been walking around at 6'5.25/6'5.5. Walking round at 280lbs and being in the gym for extended periods is a sure fire way to drag your spine down to its lowest.
If he ever was 6'6 prime, I've seen little evidence of it so far, in most in ring staredowns he came up short of that height with Sid/Taker/Andre/Zeus. Backstage/cowboy boots he could look it on occasion for sure.

Read 'The Big Grapple' article. Glenn measured OVER 5'7" during the 2nd meeting, henceforth why Rob suspected him of "cheating" by lying down beforehand. Since Rob listed himself as a flat 5'8" for years when in reality his lowest measurement was 5'8.1" and he would awaken at 5'8.9", even an out-of-bed 5'8" measurement for Glenn would exclude him from a 5'8" listing on this site - as I myself mentioned to over a decade ago, before Glenn was banned(for the final time).
Therefore, Rob most likely caught Glenn at his lowest and highest, respectively. Actually, had Rob measured Glenn immediately out of the Volvo, he might've been just barely under 5'7.5"; fractionally higher than when the 2nd measurement took place. But Glenn being on his feet at all(and likely rushing up those flights of stairs) probably cost him a few mm.
If Glenn measured 5'6.5" and just over 5'7" under the same conditions(as he seems to claim), then he must simply defy human physiology.
The aforementioned reality of this saga all makes perfect sense, and Glenn simply can't, in his right of mind, claim 5'8" for himself.
"In his right of mind" being the key phrase.

There was always a 2mm positive error with the stadiometer, so on the second visit like I say he was near enough 5ft7 exactly and 16 minutes later remeasured 1/8th under 5ft 7.
A 3/8ths increase from the first encounter is big enough to suggest something like a lay down, though he said he didn't.

With all these celebrity boxing matches taking place, I think we need Rob Paul vs Glenn Cunningham at Madison Square Garden.
The Tale of the Tape would be interesting though...
Would Glenn wear Portmans in the pre-fight staredown? Could Rob counteract it with a pair of Dons?

Only trained specialists like Stallone can fight in elevator shoes...but a Hogan 5cm sneaker is doable!
Finally a celebrity boxing match worth watching

Rob did Glenn get also a 5ft 7 measurement from you also besides the 5ft 6.5 ??
Editor Rob
Yes, 5ft 6 5/8ths seemed his low and after telling him about how relaxing on the bed like Jenny can help you measure taller, he came back and managed near 5ft 7 on the nose, although 15 minutes later dropped 1/8th.
Although he insisted he never lay down...I have some doubts as I seen him arrive in the hotel long before he chapped our door, and when he did chap it, was sweating and saying let's get this measurement done now 😃

@MJKOP: Glenn did the opposite of what he accused Rob of. He inflated a lot of celebs’s heights and he himself wasn’t even what he claimed to be. Rob said Glenn was 5 6 5/8” when he claimed 5’8”
Rob didn't just 'say' Glenn was 5'6 and 5/8(actually 5'6.5, due to a discrepancy in the stadiometer as later discovered)...he PROVED it.
I was one of the few who stood by Glenn's side for many years after he was booted from the site. Believe it or not, there is actually a rather sweet, compassionate, relatable, and even somewhat humble hidden behind what must be a metric ton of pent up grief, trauma, and hostility. Unfortunately, I suffered from similar afflictions, and our personalities clashed to the point where I believe critical mistakes were made on both sides - and thus our friendship ended. Yes, he has rampant tendency to be unnecessarily rude, aggressive, and judgmental...but there are indeed redeeming qualities once you peel back the layers. Tragically, roughness embedded within simply can't be contained - so that side of him will inevitably reemerge, henceforth costing him numerous friendships and relationships(won't go into any personal details, but I actually have a great deal of pity for him).
Glenn claimed he didn't have one bit of interest in height and his involvement with this website was merely circumstantial, yet he'd frequently bring up celeb heights(the concept, not this website - although that too, from time to time...as screenshotted by Rob), as well as his own.
Additionally, that inquiry on Sly's IG post seemed to stimulate him in full force - so the guy has a blatant and undying height obsession.
His baseless and easily disprovable statements about Rob's M.O. are projection 101. A guy who feels insufficient and lacking in stature(both figuratively and literally) feels the urge to upgrade himself, and, by proxy, upgrade celebs in order to pull off such a farce.
Like so many of his other world views(cryptozoology, astrology, conspiracy theories, etc.), his seems highly allergic to any rational counterpoints, such as pointing out that almost all of Rob's listing are contingent on the accuracy of his own height(which has been chronicled and documented meticulously).
If almost all of the height are too low, is Rob also under listing himself?
How is that possible, with the irrefutable video proof?
If so, how could Rob making himself shorter than he actually is be some demented ploy to boost his own ego?
And so forth.
You can try to reconcile Glenn's bizarre, fantastical, and oftentimes wildly contradictory musings...but don't even attempt to in his presence. He get defensive, resort to ad hominems, and rage until you are basically forced to concede - or just block him permanently.
Bottom line is that you simply can not reason with the unreasonable.

The wisdom of Glenn from that thread:
""Celeb Heights is a site controlling by a man(if you can call him that) that literally carries around a measuring device daily- I knew him personally- and use to contribute to the page- he's disturbed like most of you are- and downplays celebrities height to feel better about themselves. Almost every height that site listed is wrong- and Liotta is 6ft""
Seems Glenn is still a little bit upset with that measurement. There is no hiding from it online...
Skimming that thread is like the old days of reading his arguments here on CelebHeights 😄
That man is about to turn 50.
I'll say it once more, because it bears repeating:
That man, Glenn Cunningham, IS ABOUT TO TURN FIFTY YEARS OF AGE.

Next to Brutus Beefcake as Ed and Terry Boulder. Seems about 3 inches shorter than Hogan here.
