Now that Ashley knows that the baby boy - who’s been born - isn’t his, he’s really going to town on the sympathy side and making Maxine’s life a misery. She’s stayed with Ashley, and wants to bring the infant up with him as his own. He should be happy to have such an opportunity.

Infidelity causes nothing but grief, but when an innocent baby is born as a result, personal pride should go right to the back of the queue. 🦚👎

Poor Ashley is in the know that the baby his wife is carrying isn’t his. I feel for him; he’d just done a charitable act as well, taking in the disgraced doctor, who has been booted out by his wife for his infidelity.

Ashley was played by Steven Arnold, who doesn’t look much taller than Tracy’s Maxine. I’d say he’s around 5ft7.5. I looked for his height yesterday, but without success.

Maxine went into premature labour when the sordid secret was revealed…..

Tracy’s Maxine has found that she’s pregnant in Classic Coronation Street, only the baby isn’t husband Ashley’s. The father is her doctor, and he’s absolutely HUGE - way over 6ft, probably by 4”.

If it wasn’t for the fact that Richard Hillman takes the poor girl’s life, it would have been an interesting scenario to see Ashley wondering why the child is so excessively tall!

Tracy gets 5ft7.25.

It was Christmas 1998 in yesterday's Classic Coronation Street and Sally warned Maxine about Greg Kelly, Battersby's son, using people financially and being physically abusive towards her during their relationship.

I'm glad to say that Maxine took notice!

While listening to a long speech by Coronation Street's butcher Fred Elliot, played by the late John Savident, Tracy's character Maxine replies with "Is that English?"

Fred included the phrase jiggery pokery and other worn-out terms, and was going nowhere fast. Maxine summed it up beautifully!

The actress hangs out with fellow hairdresser, Fiona, (Angela Griffin, 5ft8), and when I was watching it the first time round, I expected the two lasses were at the most a tall/average 5ft5 to 5ft6.

Finding out their real heights was quite a revelation!

How embarrassing for Maxine, played by Tracy, in this morning's Classic episode! She was doing an erotic dance for her boyfriend, the helium-voiced Ashley Peacock (Steve Arnold), who's about Tracy's height, when both Steve and his Uncle Fred Elliott, played by John Savident, came in together! 🤭

Uncle Fred, who was recovering from tumbling down a golf course, worse for wear for drink, was delighted, but Maxine not at all. She'd thrown her top behind her and it landed in Fred's face!
John is supposed to be 5ft11.5, which I find believable, and Tracy is getting 5ft7.5 today.

⭐ John Savident played the King in the original pilot episode of 'The Blackadder', a role which was replaced by the shorter, but equally loud-voiced, Brian Blessed.

Time flies so quickly in 'Classic Coronation Street' that it's already Tracy's character Maxine's first Christmas.

Having all those lovely decorations to gaze at is distracting me from my commenting! Many a time, it suffices to just listen and look up, it being repeated in the morning, but now the attraction of a Summertime Christmas is proving too tempting...😆

Tall, slim Tracy gets 5ft7.5.

Tracy's ill-fated character, Maxine, has just joined the cast of the Classic version of 'Coronation Street', which I'm watching at the moment. She works as a hairdresser. Let's hope it's a while before the evil Richard Hillman 😝(Brian Capron) is found by Gail and becomes her husband. That was such a huge storyline in the 90s....

I can't so far see much of a difference between Angela Griffin and Tracy, so I will go along with 5ft7.25, which is more than I thought she was in the first place. Hang on a minute! They've just been standing together by the telephone, and now I certainly can see the difference - and more!

If Angela is 5ft8, then I rather think that Tracy is 5ft7!

I NEVER expected Tracy Shaw was this tall, mind you, it's a long time since she's been in 'Coronation Street'.

The 'Classic Coronation Street' episodes fly by so quickly though that it won't be long before we will see Hillman ensnare Gail and all the drama that went with it, including the attempted killing of Emily Bishop and the murder of Maxine, Tracy's character. It's very scary, I assure you!

Tracy was always very slim, but to my eyes anyway, it didn't make her look taller.

She gets the average vote - 5ft7.25, and her first comment!
