"why do people who are 5'4" call themselves short? that's average height."... my guess is because they feel short, perhaps in relation to men... small women.. let's say under 5'6" are much more likely to wear high heels when they go out, I've noticed.... and that says something about how they think about themselves

"Asians aren't that crazy about height as you think they would be. lol"... I beg to differ, ok well I don't know about Koreans or how much the height of a woman is important in Asia... but Chinese Women definitely appreciate tall men, they just aren't tall to our standards.. lol... many Chinese girls dream of marrying a man who is 1.80m tall... which is barely above average height of a white male, but for China it is tall :) .

God, Steph, I'm LIVING in South Korea and apparently height isn't everything. I'm only 5'3", but my life here is exellent. If you are a Caucasian, then you might be considered short. Asians aren't that crazy about height as you think they would be. lol

I am Chinese and 5'4. I would call that short (to me) because all my other friends are a towering 5'8 in America. There aren't any healthy ways to grow taller are they?

in south korea, height is everything. 5 4 is considered short even though there are many who aren't 5 4. i used to live in south korea and i'm 5 2 and i constantly heard remarks about how short i was.
