Actually, I just rewatched WM VII and Regis was closer to 2" shorter than Gene. So, he was definitely no more than 5'6" flat and Gene was close to 5'8".

Numerous 5'5"-5'6" guests including Justin Bieber have been on his show and he looked shorter than them all. Flat 5'4" too low, but 5'4.5"-5'5" is actually respectable, at least his current height. 5 ft 7 is certainly a massive joke for now, 5 ft 6 is definitely pushing it too. i think 5 ft 5 is nearer what he is and 5 ft 6 peak.

Regis is cool. 5'6" was really peak. He is old now. Lost at least an inch. Yeah big personality, nice guy and he can always stand on his wallet. The guy is more loaded than some Hollywoods superstars and he deserves it.

Saw him setting up for his show in New York years ago and he's a tiny little guy. 5'5" MAX, probably smaller. Booming voice that carries though and strong personality. He was like a little Napoleon.

here is philbin probably in 1984 with bodybuilder and the1883 mr olympia samir bannout. bannout is generally listed as 5' 8", but some sites say 5' 7". bannout is barefoot, while philbin wears prety flat trainers. philbin appears to be the taller of the two.

First of all did you ever notice that when a guest came on he would never fully stand he would get on his stool ASAP. I also think that who ever was a guest on the show weren't allowed to mention his height and his age two things that were TABOO.And the only time that I ever saw somebody smaller was because they were children.In fact the only thing big about Philbin was his ego.Michael Richards from the Seinfeld show is listed at 5'5 and he was a lot bigger then Philbin.

Some dumb people on here. Michael buble who's between 5'8 and 5'10. He was about an inch and a half shorter. But, I'M smart. Below 5'7" maybe. He's 7 inches shorter than Letterman. So 5'7 there.

My dad met him back in the 1970's and has a picture taken with him. My dad is 5'7. Regis was an inch shorter.

5'5" seems about right. He just had Nigella Lawson on his show and she absolutely towered over him. She's a food writer from Britain who's listed by wikepedia at 5'7". She probably had heels on because the top of Regis' head was at her nose.

I first met Regis back when he had a local variety show in San Diego. We really didn't become friends, but when we'd see each other he'd always say hello. When he moved to LA and acted as an Ed McMahon to Joy Bishop, I saw Regis on several occasions. He's about 5'5". And a very nice guy. No pretensions with him. The only time I ever saw him get upset is when I kidded him that SC would beat the pants off of Nortre Dame. Man! You'd have thought I lit a fuse!

Nathan Lane was a guest with Regis last week -- they are identical heights.

Using a Digital Video Recorder (DVR), I carefully examined Regis & Nathan side by side on that TV program.

Nathan is 5' 5 with shoes.

Well, I stood and spoke with him after one of his tv shows - he was slightly shorter than I am - I'm 5-8. So I think 5-6 is probabaly right on - this was 15
years ago. I think he was 5-7 then - now he's over 70 so 5-6 is right.

I know people shrink....I, myself was once 5'9" and now, at age 58, and I don't have osteoporosis, am down to just a hair over 5'6". I remember Kelly Ripa on AMC and she was the shortest one on the show. (She is supposedly 5'2".) She and Mark (her husband) seemed to be almost the same height. I'd bet Regis is only maybe 5'3" or 5'4" at the very most now. We're not talking about years past.

JMG, I completely agree with you. He appears to be around 5'6" elsewhere, but really appeared 2-3"+ shorter on "America's Got Talent". That really makes me wonder if the contestants were really that tall, or if it has something to do with him wearing "special" shoes on his regular show? Just a guess.

I remember a show where The Narcissist showed up to promote SummerSlam and good ol Reg looked almost like Frodo did next to Aragorn in the LOTR movies, The Narcissist was at the peak of his physical condition back then, probably at 197cm, so that would certainly make Regis no taller than 160cm

I have a hard time believing this guy is over 5'5". Has anyone seen "America's Got Talent"? He is dwarfed by everyone, including some very young girls. He also appeared to be nearly a foot shorter than 6'3" Tom Green, on stage. Either most contestants on the show are abnormally tall, or Regis has lost height.
