Yeah you wouldn't think of him as around 6 ft 2 anyway. But it checks out.

I'm watching him as I write this (on one of his shows from the 50's)
This was not a small man - although the many characters that he portrayed
required him to slouch a fair bit. Because of this, I always pegged him at around 5'10" or 5'11".
John Carradine (who was listed at 6 feet even) is standing next to Red in the episode I am currently watching, and Red appears a good 2" Taller than John, so yeah bang on 6'2" is what I'm voting him in at. And pretty beefy too, perhaps in the 210 range??

I admit, I am shocked by this. I thought he was 5'10'' to 5'11''.

Much taller than I thought.

6'1.5-6'2 range yeah, overall average I'd say 6'1.75 is a perfect guess.

Red was consistently an inch shorter than 6' 2.5" Conrad Veidt in one of the "Whistling" films. Sometimes in movies he appeared 6' 2", other times closer to 6' 1", as in "A Southern Yankee" alongside 6' 1" John Ireland. A 187cm listing covers this range.

For once Steve and I agree :-)

One of the greatest comedians. Thanks for including him.
He always looked tall.

Thanks. Can you also add Flight Command, Whistling in the Dark, A Southern Yankee and The Yellow Cab Man? Seems a good shout, somewhere in 6'1.5-6'2" range. He wasn't 6'3" or 6'4" that's for sure, I always saw him as a weak 6'2".
