She didn't look half an inch shorter than Lohan. The two of them looked the same height. There's plenty of public photos of those two as well as plenty of scenes when Lohan sported heels while McAdams wore flats and the height difference was the same when it was vice versa.

@Anna - Even if that is true, 7.5 inches will still have her being around his mouth to nose area, and she clearly surpasses that. Here are examples of Rachel looking more than 5'4.

Looks a legit 5'5 in the pic with Steve. If Steve was 8.5 inches taller than Rachel, she'll be scraping at his mouth area, not nearing his eye level. And it can't be due to heels since Rachel wore sneakers throughout the whole film. In runners, that was also about the height difference between her and Bradley Cooper.

although i think she looks way nicer as a brunette, it brings out more features in her, and blonde hair is lifeless and looks dull to me, especially in the movie, her gretchen and cady are so much more pretier than regina and karren simply because therr is a contrasrt in the colour of her hauir and her complexion

Not a lot I don't think. On mean girls (although I think it's on the delted scenes) Cady (god I sound like a nerd!) fixes her scales to her weight so when she gains weight it wont change. And she fixes them to 112. Although I think she may be less than that as she gained a bit of weight for that role. About 106 or 107 I think.

Height can't really be judged in movies because there are so many tricks to manipulate it. Depending on the type of shot sometimes one person is standing on a box to change their height relationship to another person, or he or she is standing down or up from another person to create whatever illusion they want.

i believe Rachel is like 5'4 -5...the only problem i have is that i saw an interview on Much on Demand between her and Rick Campinelli...she was wearing heels that gave her about 2 inches extra in height..which logically would make her 5'6ish...except that Rick Campinelli's page says he's 5'7 (tho personally i think is an inch off, and he's really 5'6) and she had a solid couple inches on him. after seeing that, im not sure what to think anymore.

If you watch Wedding Crashers, she was slightly taller than Seymour, because they were wearing heels, but Jane's were Jane's heels were higher. Rachel's heels looked like they were 1 inch or and inch and a half. When she stands next to 5'11 Owen she doesn't look that much shorter than him!

After seeing "The Family Stone" I find it hard to believe Rachel is over 5'4". There are many seens with her in slippers standing next to household objects like kitchen counter tops, refrigrators, doorways, etc, and she looks just like all the other 5'3"-5'4" women I know. 5'3.5" for a girl is like 5'8.5" for a guy... the difference being girls could wear all kinds of heal shoes/sandals/boots making them seem on the taller side.... imagine a 5'8"-5'9" man in 3"-4" heals. Now add a great body to the girl and she instantly looks in the 5'8" range dressed up at a party.

Actually Rachel's height is the perfect height for an actress, it allows her to play any role. 5'11" Nicole Kidman would struggle to play a highshcool kid, even when she was a highschool kid... McAdams at 29 could still be casted as a teen... or play the leading lady in a drama.

Which leads me back to my original question: If the interviewer was given or surmised (incorrectly) about age, whose to say that the height info. is correct?

What was the date of the article? She just turned 29. I agree though, it's not like the interviewer took out a measuring tape, but it does help tell us that she is in the range of average to maybe slighty shorter than average. I think a solid 5'4" for this girl is fair, for now... I'm not seeing evidence of the half inch the editor has givin her.

I don't know how reliable the article in Allure is...it gives her height @ 5'4 in loafer heels, but also gives her age as 26. I've seen it listed as 29 on lots of other sites, though. If the interviewer got her age wrong, how reliable is the info. about her height? Who knows, she'll probably be 5'6 and 24 if her movies keep doing well :)

but when compared to the mean girls cast rachel is apparently 5'3", meaning that S.J.P. would have to be downgraded to 5'2" or even 5'1"! And I know that that is ridiculous. So, either it was just the hair/rachel's shoes were higher than expected/the cast from mean girls is taller than reported. I'm guessing that S.J.P. is around 5'3", and Rachel is more like 5'4-4.5", just like this site says.

Its so weird. on Mean Girls she always seems tall, but then when she's stood next to the other girls, she suddenly doesn't. I always thought she was tall, but when you compare her to Lacey Chabert (5"3), she isn't much taller, and then next to Jonathon Bennet (6"2) she seems tiny. So why does she always seem so tall!? A slim figure can't do that much for a person!!
