Not everyone loses height though. I saw a post from a woman who visited her childhood home and saw a measurement taken when she was 16 and she's still exactly the same height 50 years later. I think it depends on how active a person is, or if they have arthritis or something, they might get hunched over with age.

If Megan Fox is 5' 4" I think Lindsay must be in the 5' 3"-5' 4" range. Maybe 5' 5" but there's no way she's over 5' 5".

And there are beautiful actresses of many different height ranges. The "ideal height" thing is only going to make people feel needlessly self-conscious about something over which they have no control. Tall, short, average, is all good. There are guys who like all shapes and sizes of women. Maybe one guy prefers tall and skinny but his friend likes girls with some meat on their bones. :)

@Stephanie Ali is a model, she's like you said, that height. Ali signed with NEXT model management last year and that's why she got so skinny. She's gained a lot of her weight back now and looks ok now. Lindsay does very well modeling at her height because she's so photogenic and natural at posing.

@Wind You and your friend both need to learn to be happy with the heights you are. A person of any height can look good as long as they eat right and exercise regularly so they aren't too fat and aren't skin and bones. Just a little muscle tone is good.

In general, you do need to be taller than average (ideally 5' 10" for women, 6' 2" for men) to be a model but some models are shorter, especially if they started out young (Lindsay was something like 3 years old when she started with Ford) or if they're famous some other way they can get signed for a modeling contract.

Her little sister Ali looks like she's gotten quite tall (5' 8.5" to 5' 9") so I can see her modeling if she gains back a little weight (she looks too skinny probably from over-dieting); she used to be so pretty.

@ Taller than 5'6 - That's not true, supermodels don't have to be 5'9". They would prefer if you were for runway, but a lot of agencies lie and if you have 'it' but are a little shorter they will put your stats at around 5'9", 5'8". There's Kate Moss, Devon Aoki, Laetitia Costa, Barbara Palvin, Sasha Pivovarova, etc. all of whom are under 5'9" or even under 5'8". True, taller girls are a little awkward around guys who are sometimes these days topping off at around 5'10", but at least we wear clothes and extra pounds better :P. But short girls are cute too.

Lindsay Lohan has 5'7 on her California ID. However, the DMV does not really validate height. Same goes with the mugshot, they probably asked her how tall she was. Lindsay and her mom seem to have a height complex thing. I remember her mom boasting her daughters heights. Actually I was just watching Georgia Rule last night and noticed that in every scene Lindsay wore MASSIVE heels. like Crazy. And still, she was no where being close to Jane Fonda's height.
So what does that tell us??? The girl is NOT 5'4.

Well on your license they don't measure you. You could put anything really. You could be 5'10 and put down 6'2 and they wouldn't question it.

Lohan is 5'4-5'4.5 at least, maybe 5'5 but no more.

She looks 5'4", period. I don't know where these 5'7" claims came about because she's always looked quite short or barely average height. In some pics and films she's looked as tiny as 5'3" so the 5'7" business is plain nonsense. So 5'4" or 5'4" 1/2 at best. Nothing more.

but ive got little hands and feet, short arms, long legs, and m relatively tall at 168.

if youve got a proportionally long body then youll have long arms. so its unusual to have both proportionally long legs AND arms.

anyhoo my point is you cant tell height from porportions at all ;]

you can tell a person's general stature/size by the length of their arms and fingers. someone with tiny fingers has tiny bones = small person. stars lie about their height and weight to set an even MORE unattainable goal for average fans, which is what agents and producers want in their stars, so that they will continue to make money off these kids who idolize them. take an inch or two off the claimed height, and it's probably accurate.

i dont think i'm wrong in saying 5'3. that's what she looks like to me. she's full bodied(by full bodied I mean not grossly skinny like nicole richie and co, but healthy looking) and i think it seems to add to her height.

When I was living in Brisbane (Australia), my drivers licence listing was 189cm, but I’m really 181-182cm.

I remember one of my good buddies who is l86cm saw my drivers license and had a confused look on his face and said “but I’m taller than you”, I replied “no I’m easily taller than you I’m 189”. My friend then stood next to me so that he could compare heights, even though he had 2 inches on me he was still considering it a possibility that I was taller than him, I started laughing because it seemed too funny and admitted “yeah you are easily taller than me”.
