You might want to add "and pianist" Rob, he was a very decent jazz pianist in his own right and did a fair amount of solo piano recordings. Even Oscar Peterson and Bill Evans sang his praises and they were absolute geniuses. This guy had a special aura about him, not surprised he was a big success in early Vegas.

Mmm he looks easily an inch shorter than Harry Belafonte who I'd thought was about 184..

Didn't know he was a fairly tall guy before, definitely similar height to Cary Grant in Arch's photo find.

Cheers Rob, much appreciated, can you squeeze in "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas", "The Very Thought of You", "Too Much" and "A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square"? That's a great quite from Tony Bennett, I doubt that was a guess either, I'd imagine that Bennett asked him how tall he was as he saw he was quite tall and he probably said "a bit over 6 ft". It's what I guessed too. He can look a full 6 ft 1 at times but with Cary Grant and Errol Flynn nearer 6'.
