We were the exact same height and I’m 5’6, 5’7 on a good day.
Once the show ended I caught him outside and asked if I could freestyle for him, he and his guys were like "nah".

Definitely legit 5'9" 175 CM dude hitch hikers guide to the galaxy he inches out freeman who was in the hobbit Freeman's can pull 5'7" off but is a strong 5'6" and 3/8 guy I say so myself. Haven't seen Def in any other movie tbh

He's at least 2 inches shorter than the 5'10 Michael C. Hall in the new season of dexter so i would peg him at 5'7 and a half inches. 5'8" max.

I saw Mos Def just this past weekend in DC. I was front and center no more than 10 feet away from him performing. I'm 5'10" and he can be no more than 5'8". Even my girlfriend thought he looked so much taller in his movies and TV.

He does look approximately 2 inches taller than Martin Freeman (5'7''ish) in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, but Freeman has even worse posture. Mos Def has a great built which is the reason why he looks taller than 5'8''- 5'9''.

I recently saw Mos Def in concert. He seemed from from my view to be 5'8 1/2 when he came down from stage to hi five some folks - margin of error an inch either way - I'd aim more down though.

Well, it means anything, on a freesyle, he rhymes "I stand 5'10" with the open palms". On "Very Well", he says "I'm standing 5'10" with the chocolate complexion". So, the man is insisting that he's 5'10"! Even though he often doesn't look it. (There's another song where he raps that he's that height as well but I can remember which one).
