New Zealand actor, known for roles in The Ring, Torque, Bride & Prejudice, Everest, Windtalkers and TV series Off the Map and Grey's Anatomy. In the Indepenedent newspaper, when asked what a common misconception about him was, he said "That I'm taller than I really am. I'm 5 foot 9.", which is a height he used to be listed as on his New Zealand acting agency: "Height 175cm".

I saw Martin for the second time in 'The Strangers Prey at Night' yesterday and he really does look 2" taller than 5ft7 Christina Hendricks, but he could have been wearing lifts for the hugging scene. It could be his proportions that make him appear taller than one would expect for 5ft8.5. In fact, I think I will settle for 5ft8.5, just in case he was wearing chunky footwear!

Hey, he's definitely 5'8. I chatting with him and a costar at an event earlier this year. He looked me right in the eyes and we were just about eye level. He had MAYBE an inch on me if anything at all. I'm 5'5 and was wearing heels which made me about 5'7. But I will say that in his case height is secondary because the man is effing gorgeous in person. His eyes are insanely green and piercing and his smile just makes you melt and I'm not a girl who typically swoons. He is a stunning specimen in person I assure you. Height be darned, the man is gorgeous. Bit of a player though, lol.

I have one query in my mind. Jackie Chan is also listed at 5 ft 8.5 inches. But, Martin Henderson looks quite tall as compared to Jackie Chan. Why is it so? Is it due to camera angles or something? And do you agree with me on this?

Answer fernie's question about Martin been gay. I'm sure he is bi-sexual I went to school with him in New Zealand in the later 80s early 90s and once at a party he was caught with a another guy making out in a wardrode of all places maybe this inspired brokeback in the first place?? I would say the height listed here is correct maybe 5'9 as I towered over him at 6'3.5 :)

he is short cause when he played in Bride and Prejudice he was just a bit taller than Aishwarya Rai and she's 5'7 so not much taller.
