There's a scene in SeaQuest 2032 where he's walking next to Michael Ironside down a corridor, long shot, full height. He looks perhaps fractionally shorter than Ironside. Certainly not 5ft 10in. 5ft 9in seems accurate.

His autopsy report gives a weight of 167 lbs. and body length of 69 inches (5'9). This listing is correct.

I found some interesting notes on his height, though I'm not sure if it's 100% true:

In the start of his teenage-life, he was considered a bit short. This phenomenon was in fact due to that he was actually also growing as an adult. During filming Sidekicks (1992) he had the same height as Mako, (5' 4"). He then seriously grew in his late teenage years. In the last season of SeaQuest DSV (1993) when he was about 19 years old, he reached the height 5'9". He then kept this height for some few years until during filming of Outside Providence (1999) when he finally received his adult height of 6'.

He was only 18 or 19 in 1995 he could have gained 1 or 2 cm maybe ? Anyway he was a great actor, very classy it's sad that he died so young :/

I was a close friend of Jonathan's for many years. He was just barely 5 FT 9 In. tall.

He looked taller due to his being so thin and the camera angles. That's what Hollywood does.

This is a ridiculous claim. I recently saw the movie with Brandis and Keitel and in that movie Brandis looked about two inches taller. I believe he was the height listed here (5'9), I can buy 5'10 but nothing more.

On the contrary to popular belief (as it seems to be one), you don't grow 3 inches from the age of 19!... This happens only in cases of mutation

yea i have a comment you see i am 4'9 and half if i did stand up to jonathan brandis i would have come up to his shoulders i think because i have seen him
movies and when i seen pictures of jonathan brandis and tatyana ali together and she is almost shorter than him well i am short and i am 25 years old and
people say i do not look 25 years old well i am and i think jonathan brandis was a good actor and tatyana m ali is a good actress i liked her in the fresh prince of bel air i heard of jonathans death and it is very sad i feel sorry for greg and mary brandis he was thier only child GOD BLESS JONATHAN AND GOD BE WITH HIM AND GREG AND MARY THEY ARE IN MY HEARTS AND I PRAY FOR THEM EVERY NIGHT AND DAY GOD BLESS THEM

These celebrity heights are all over the board when you go to over websites. I saw one listing him at 6'which I felt was ridiculous. I agree with your assessment that he's average height of 5'9"

If I remember correctly, he was slightly shorter than Roy Scheider (listed as 5'9" here) in the 1st season of Seaquest DSV, and the same size in the 2nd.
