i just remember him from house and if i remmeber right he did look on the shorter side. Im just gueszxing here but anything over 179 is impossxible and under 177 is also harder to argue. i think a weak 5´10 guy. somedays 5´10 other days 5´9 3/4

I’ve met him a ton of times, probably at least ten times, due to work, and I can tell you with a lot of first hand experience that he is a lot smaller than you imagine. Very comfortable and confident saying he is in the 5’8” to 5’8.5” range. He wears longer pants, causing bunching around the ankles, to hide the modest elevators he sometimes wears. It’s noticeable when he wears them because there is a 1.5” difference over his regular shoes. I am also happy to report that he is a very nice guy. Very friendly.

There's a few surprise ones who made it to the US/Hollywood but as evidenced by Chris Hemsworth living in Byron Bay, Aus and shunning LA, it must be a crazy place to live, particularly now with all the homeless people and problems. I would have loved to have been a film star back in the Golden period Kirk Douglas generation but I'd hate it nowadays. LA is way too crowded and there's far too many actors in the industry now.

The younger Sky Mangel and Shane and Jesse McGregor (Dieter Brummer and Ben Unwin) from Home and Away are no longer with us unfortunately...

I've just been channel hopping, and I arrived on the 'Horror' channel, as seems to be my custom, to find Jesse on my screen starring in a film called 'Curse of the Talisman'.
I only saw the end, but I did see what happened when this particular curse was in full throttle! It summoned angry 'demons' up which looked like little miniature flying dinosaurs - not scary, but rather comical!
Jesse looked very boyish in this 2001 film, but just 3 or 4 years later, he starred in 'House' as a fully qualified MD, so he must have been fully grown in this film. There was another mystery bloke quite a bit taller than him, which is pretty much what happened to him in 'House' standing next to some particularly tall actors like Hugh Laurie and Charles Dutton. I was fairly surprised that Jesse wasn't written up as a bit less than 5ft10, but that's the result of working with taller guys!
I won't dock his height for it! I liked him in house, and I have caught him in another pre-'House' film of the horror/thriller genre, the name of which I forget, but it wasn't bad!

177 for sure if Laurie was really flat 188cm. Even at 189cm, 177 was always a possibility for this guy, at 188, it's a virtual certainty.

I still think Hugh was nearer 189 than 188 though, so a weak 5'10 is still possible for Spencer. :)

@Editor Rob: You've said it yourself, he wears converse a lot on House. The reason he looks marginally shorter than Epps at times is the fact that he's often in that kind of footwear that add virtually nothing to his height, while Epps always wears sneakers that give roughly a 3 cm boost.

Looking at some photos, he seems to have the edge on 178 cm guys Kal Penn and Omar Epps when in simliar footwear. He also often looks 9-10 cm shorter than Hugh Lauire (the few times Hugh's actually standing tall), and about 4 cm shorter than 183 cm Robert Sean Leonard.

To me the flat 5'10 does seem a tad low. 179 cm, that'd be a strange height to claim if he was actually a bit shorter (let's say 176-177 cm as some of you are suggesting). Like, why not just say 180 cm, if he's lying in the first place?
Nah, he's likely a legit 179 cm guy. I think it's upgrade time.

I could see him measuring 5ft9.75 in the afternoon, but not less. And yes, Cole Robert Sean Leanord is actually a true 6ft, when standing straight. I used to think he might be a fraction under, but watching House lately he really is a big 6foot guy, He is taller than 5'10 listed Ann Dudek, IN HEELS! And he edged out Bale.

Honestl you can't really tell if someone is 5'9 and some fractions or 5'10 and some fractions from proportions.. He's still 5'10-range in my eyes.

Peter Jacobson is a legit 168 cm man, he's 2 cm taller than Jennifer Morrison in one of those barefoot pics they did for a promotion of House MD. I honestly think you should upgrade him Rob. As you say he's in converse on the show, and still he's not all that much shorter than Omar Epps in sneakers. The reason Jesse might give a 5'9.5 impression is because he is in flat footwear on House, Kal Penn is also in converse a lot, and they seem pretty close, Omar Epps and Hugh Laurie allways wear sneakers.

Jesse also seems quite close in height with 180 Taylor Kinney...

Haven't really been paying much attention to their footwear, but Epps and Laurie does tend to wear sneakers, the same type even. And of it's like you say that Spencer is wearing converse, there is a chance he'd be the 179 he claims. I don't see why he'd claim 179 if he really was shorter (why not just say 180?) Maybe he measured 179 at some point and is really being honest, early on in the day perhaps?

I belive he's almost right of his height, something between 5'10(178 cm) and 5'11(180 cm)...I would give him 5'11(180 cm),he doesn't have the same good posture of Ommar Epps+the heel of the Ommar's shoes being bigger than Jesse's, give him an advantage of approximately 1cm.He doesn't have a bad posture like Owen Wilson,(5'10/5'11),who's taller than looks like,but doesn't have a good one all the time like Ommar either.This half inche is perceivable just like the 1 inche difference of 6'0 Chris Pine and 6'1 Zachary Quinto in Star Trek 2009 movie.

To sort of swing the topic of growth spurt a few more times. At high school, there were three shorties that i used to look down upon (5'4 range)..i was 5ft10 at high school..After a year of leaving i bumped into these 'shorties'..the shortest was 6ft3..the tallest was nigh on 2m..my jaw dropped, the little buggers had grown up and gained deep voices..Luckily i had some dignity returned to me as i had my own spurt to 6 and a half feet in my 20s.

I went to the same primary school [Spring Rd.Malvern] & same high school [Scotch College] as Jesse.. As a kid he was umbelievably short & then he had a massive growth spurt around 16-17yrs [a la De Caprio]. Anyway i`m 177.5cm & Jesse looked exactly the same when i stood beside him so 177cm minimum or 178cm maximum sounds on the money!

BTW, when Jesse was 12yrs old he was around 125cm, so he grew more than 50cm in secondary school*@@*.

epps also looks taller because he got these squared shoulders level, Jesse's shoulders are bent downward also giving the impression of him being shortish.

i find it funny Jesse & Epps both being stated 5'10.5 its not realistic either.

my 5`11 friend insists that she went to school with him and she said that he was at least 5`10. i do watch the show regularly, and he does look about a hair shorter than foreman. i may be not remembering correctly, but epps usually wears dress shoes, and his tend to be more casual. also, i think epps has slightly better posture.
