Heeey! Janis, your lyrics are quite filthy, or is it just me?

I've been playing some Janis to my foxes this evening. I must say, they liked her very much indeed!

R.I.P Janis Joplin.

Janis Joplin was born 77 years ago today. It's hard to swallow that this year marks the 50th anniversary of her death.
RIP Janis XXX

Okay, Rob, I'll bite. Which people are you never going to add, and what disqualified them from consideration? You've already got a diverse and eclectic mix; not just show business people but politicians and athletes. How tall was Roy Rogers's horse Trigger, by the way? Now there's an omission I've always wanted you to fix.

nobody is really discounted from having a page these days.

How very interesting! I've got her playing at the moment and I wondered if she'd be on the site and she is - excellent!
Yes, 5ft5 is the very most I would have said for her. I knew she wasn't tall, having met someone who knew her.
She is still capable after all these years of making the hair follicles stand to attention, as is happening with me now!

Saw a documentary recently about her and she was standing next to some really short guys...and she was shorter than them. I'd say 5ft 5in is about right.

I read an interview and she stated she had been the tallest smartest ugliest girl in her home town.

i saw her walking by herself in 1967 and she looked huge, over six foot. but could have been her persona with all the finery she wore etc, she had a huge ego I would say and kind of like an exhibitionist.

I met her on numerous occasions, and Janis wasn't all that much shorter than me, and I'm 5'8 barefoot. I'd say between 5'6 and 5'7. Also may I point out that people often list old heights on their official documents, not having being recently measured so they go by the last height they remember, maybe from high school even, but really they've grown.

A legend he is, his version of "All along the watchtower" is superb.
I am not asking, but it would be okay if you add him..
Rut said on 27/Aug/07
Rob,I gather you ain't much of a Hendrix fan...?
Editor Rob
he's been asked to get added 5 times I think, I'm scaring off anybody else asking! He is a legend, I just have not really looked at his height....yet.

Anthony, I prefer Meg White for this role!

some people I'm never going to add.

How come Jimi Hendrix isn't listed on this site?

Zooey is one of the best actresses out there. Along with Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman, she's probably the best actress in Hollywood today. She was great in "Almost Famous", my favorite movie. Really pretty girl, too.

Zooey is a cutie.
Anthony said on 8/Nov/06
That's awesome. Janis was great, the greatest female rocker ever. I'm looking forward to the movie. Zooey Deschanel is perfect for her IMO.

My friend knew her.

I think 5'5-5'6 is a good estimate for Janis. Great singer, and a tragic loss when she died. R.I.P.
