When I see myself on telly now I’m amazed at how big I look. I’m 6 ft 1in but on screen I look inches taller and much bulkier. I’m most conscious of my wrinkly feet.

I saw James Fleet the other day starring in an Alan Bennett comedy on stage. I have to say that despite being pretty round shouldered, he looked around 5'11 at most.
