Further to my comment dated 2nd December just gone, I'm extremely pleased to add that I've found out actor Ian Mercer's height. He is 5ft10.

He's still going strong in 'Classic Coronation Street', but while I was hunting around for his height, I discovered that he, as Gary Mallett, who so sadly lost his wife in a 1999 episode, left 'Coronation Street' in the year 2000, the repeats of which are about to commence on our TVs.

I nearly wrote that 'Ian leaves the Street in the year 2000', but that's rather a coincidence as Ian DID star in Jimmy McGovern's excellent drama series called, quite simply, 'The Street', as well as 'Cracker', McGovern's best work by far IMHO.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen my Street DVD box set for a while, and I'm missing it! The production is as star-studded as it's brilliant....

I can't see a flat 5ft6 and certainly not Gaynor's claim for 5ft7. She's probably between 5ft6.25 and 5ft6.5. This time round, she can have 5ft6.25!

That was heartbreaking in Classic Coronation Street today for Judy's husband, Gary Mallett, played by Ian Mercer. Ironically, I watched him come to a sticky end last night in the Cracker episode, 'To Say I Love You'. I can't find his height but I AM looking! Ian also starred in The Boat That Rocked, soap opera Brookside, Jimmy McGovern's The Street, plus many more productions, both in film and TV. Although he doesn't look it, Ian is 60 years old.

Perhaps at some stage, Rob, Ian could be added to the site..... 😋👍

How terrible - I really don't remember this because I missed Ashley's and Maxine's wedding back in the late 90s.

While husband Gary is making his best man's speech, we see Gaynor's Judy taking some tablets, seemingly for indigestion. While she's hanging her family's washing out, the poor girl dies, holding her chest - alone. The babies are left screaming and helpless.

Later on, Emily Bishop finds Judy, pale and pulseless. She can't be older than 20-something. So sad.... 😢

I didn't remember that Judy's Mum was run over and killed in Coronation Street, while walking the family dog. Now she wants the poor animal put down.

I can't imagine how I'd have felt if that had happened to me.

Thank God this is only a Soap.

In fact, I can honestly say that Gaynor has barely changed since the mid-nineties, weight-wise, complexion-wise and height-wise. She must lead a very healthy and active life - bravo to her for that! 🏃‍♀️👍👍

On finding out just now that it was Gaynor's Birthday, I really couldn't remember how tall she was. 😮 I thought either side of 5ft7. That's not too bad then to find the result is 5ft6 and I bet she's 5ft6.75 in the morning...

I wish her a very happy day. She looks fantastic for 48! 😁

Gaynor's mother is Kay Mellor*, who writes a good deal of TV dramas! It makes sense, therefore, that Gaynor became an actress!
I would have believed 5ft7 for Gaynor, but as she is written up as 5ft6, I will go halfway! 5ft6.5 it is!

* Of that fact I am 98% sure, but I'll Google her anyway and be back to humbly apologize if I am wrong!
