I think it was Charity who was married to Christopher Tate at the time this event took placeโฆ..
A desperate man has tried to commit suicide in the Emmerdale plot. Christopher bleedinโ Tate discusses the matter, though not at length, and then adds to the female recipient of the conversation to ask the man how he intends to pay his rent.
What a callous creep Tate is; heโs LOADED! ๐

Well done to her Scottish boyfriend, MacKenzie I think heโs called, for persuading her to keep the baby, who will be her fifth.

How funny! Charity has had a car accident with a hunky man after a row with her wife! He's so tall that she has to look up to him and I can see a twinkle in her eye, even if she's choosing to argue about his on-the-spot settlement of ยฃ500, but that's just her way. โจ๐โจ
I've read she's going to be having an affair. I wonder if it's him...? ๐ค

I'm watching a charming and often funny, but frequently sad, programme on the Emmerdale Dingle clan.
Ummmm! I never knew that Charity got so drunk with Cain, her cousin, that they ended up in a passionate embrace, which led to a one night stand! ๐คญ
I can't believe I haven't written on Emma's page since last November, when Andrew Scarborough was still starring in this fantastic Soap. Since then, Charity has had her long hair lopped, but her new style has definitely grown on me - every pun intended...

That red wig and lipstick really suited her - red hot! What was equally sizzling was the playing of 'Hocus Pocus' by Dutch group Focus when she and Lisa Reilly made their getaway from the Casino! 'Emmerdale' is the last place I'd have expected to hear 70s group Focus! That reminds me, I haven't played them for a while....

@ Sandy Cowell - Thank you for the kind things that you have said about my Dad, everything you have said is true and I really appreciate it. My Dad did enjoy 15 years of retirement with his family but it was so cruel that he didn't live much longer and that he suffered so much near the end of his life.
I really admire the bravery and single-mindedness displayed by Charity in trying to get justice by seeing this evil monster locked up, she is a fine example to everyone and a role model for everyone else in her terrible situation. My Mum also thinks that Charity's and this "mans" son could be alive like you do, it would be great if this is the case and it would be good to see him in the soap. If this is true then this may be enough to get that evil monster locked up too.
Sandy Cowell said on 10/May/18
@ Nik - Your Dad was a great example to the Police Force and it is so cruel that a good man like that didn't go on to enjoy a long and happy retirement with his loving wife, three sons and grandchildren. ๐ท๐ธ๐ป
I'm so pleased that 'Emmerdale' have decided to have Emma's character of Charity pluck up the courage to speak out against this one bad egg. It even came to light yesterday that the young Charity bore a son, who died at birth (probably due to the girl's stress and abuse - a most realistic situation had this been based on fact), and who was very likely his, as in the bent cop's. I hope we see this monster meet with the fate he deserves. ๐
Nik said on 2/May/18
@ Sandy Cowell - Yes, my Dad had his principles and they were to be genuine and honest at all times, under no circumstances would he ever go against these values and he would always have been stubborn in ensuring that he lived up to them! So yes, my Dad was a good and principled person, like you said, thanks for that! unfortunately it only takes a small minority of corrupt Police officers to damage the good name of our nations Police force, everyone should realise this and it is those so called officers who should be condemned instead!
I think that Jim was spot on in being strict with new soldiers in ensuring that they would only remain in their jobs if they met all the necessary standards associated with being a soldier, it was so important to be like Jim was because in the army everyone has to be fully capable of taking on the enemy forces as well as protecting the welfare of their fellow soldiers as much as possible. You can be very proud of his bravery and the fact that he went about an unbelievably dangerous job in such a great way.
I didn't see "Emmerdale" last night, but I would say the same as you to anyone who has suffered so badly at the hands of someone else, like Charity has, and this is to speak up against the person responsible, whoever that person may be. Anybody who has suffered any sort of abuse at the hands of any other person should always speak up about what happened to all the relevant people, like the Police or the press! Doing this will also encourage other people in similar positions to speak up! Like you said, people who are guilty of inflicting any form of abuse on another person should be punished and their crime should be brought into the open to hopefully save other people from being a victim at the hands of an evil individual.
Cheers!
Nik said on 30/Apr/18
@ Sandy Cowell - Too true!
Leopards rarely change their spots, but it has been known so I suppose it is only fair to believe that a corrupted person may change, even though you have to be mindful that they may not!
My Dad absolutely loathed the idea of there being bent coppers within the ranks, he very much believed in total honesty and the importance of the need for every single member of the Police force to be genuine and trustworthy. I would love to see Charity tell this so called cop where to stick his money and engineer a much deserved departure from the Police force for him, to think someone can be given the opportunity of being in a fantastic career but because of being a low calibre person they throw this honour back in everyone's face by betraying their trust and as a result giving their respected occupation a bad name.
Sandy Cowell said on 30/Apr/18
@ Nik - As you'll obviously be well aware, what with having had a Dad in the Police force, the height of someone matters not a jot when you're a person in authority! What matters is a person's scruples, and the policeman in 'Emmerdale' has just tried to bribe his way out of his predicament! She's got the best chance in the world now of gathering the evidence she needs to get him kicked out of the Force. But for some, alas, money speaks volumes, and we'll have to find out if that bent cop is still as corrupt as he once was or whether he has gone on the straight and narrow! Can this leopard really have changed his spots? Somehow, I doubt it! ๐
Nik said on 28/Apr/18
@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!
Yes, I have noticed that he is not very tall, a lot of Police officers do seem on the tall side but there are a decent amount who are average sized or small too, so they vary in height like the criminals do. To be honest I see this excuse of a Police officer as a criminal like you do, in fact that is precisely what he is.
I am sure that Emma will do very well in learning her lines and let's hope she cuts this piece of work right down to size!
Sandy Cowell said on 26/Apr/18
@ Nik - I have just seen the first serving of Thursday's 'Emmerdale' and that bent Police officer has appeared on the scene! Have you noticed he isn't very tall, but people like that come in all shapes and sizes, as do criminals of all kinds.
It looks as though Emma has a lot of lines to learn in the up and coming episodes and let's hope her character of Charity gets rid of the dangerous piece of work once and for all!
Nik said on 17/Apr/18
@ Sandy Cowell - Hi!
Well, i would imagine that our soap stars are prompted over when they get lines and how many lines they have to learn, I don't know though!
I know one thing though, we can be exceptionally proud of our soap stars rolling their sleeves up and putting in such hard work to entertain us during most nights of the week! They wouldn't make it otherwise as the producers will demand this in their new recruits!
When they do have breaks it is much deserved! Enjoy the soaps tonight!
Sandy Cowell said on 17/Apr/18
... and another thing Nik! It's well worth bearing in mind that when a Soap star has been heavily in demand for a long time, he or she often lays low for a while. I'm sure you noticed that we only had a tiny fleeting glimpse of Eileen in yesterday's twosome of episodes. Actress Sue is having a thoroughly well-earned rest!
Sandy Cowell said on 17/Apr/18
I'm watching the 'Coronation Street' repeat right now on ITV2, 'Emmerdale' having just been on!
I wonder whether they get any prompting, for I think that if learning their lines was too much of an all-consuming worry, it would ruin their whole lives and put a spanner in the works as regards any possibility of a social life!
They manage to look so convincing too! Charity didn't star in the 'Emmerdale' I just saw, but I'm sure that won't be for long; maybe she had a relaxing weekend after all!
Nik said on 15/Apr/18
@ Sandy Cowell
Yes, maybe we are now seeing a sweet side to Charity since she entered into a relationship with Vanessa! This is so refreshing to see and it is good that she has found a fellow female to confide in, a full-blown affair is such a positive thing too so it is all good!
I suppose it is always difficult when you are a soap star but how difficult this job is depends on how big a part they are playing at the current time, if an actor or actress is being featured a lot in forthcoming episodes then there will be more pressure than ever in terms of learning lines and in terms of performing when they are filmed. Therefore many weekends will be filled with worries about the forthcoming week and the learning of lines, however many weekends will be more relaxing and this will be when they are not on as much.
The stars of our soaps are in the entertainment business and they are in the privileged position of enhancing the lives of the millions of people who regularly watch them every time their soap is on the television, money can't buy the role they play in millions of people's lives but the money they earn is fully deserved, like you said!
Good Evening!
Sandy Cowell said on 14/Apr/18
@ Nik - As you know, I was rather pleased that the girls made up! I think this relationship is bringing out a nicer side to Charity, and I even thought that before we found out what she went through in her teens. She needs a female companion to confide in, and if it means a full-blown affair, then so be it!
I wonder whether the 'Emmerdale', and the stars of the other Soaps for that matter, sit learning their lines at the weekend or whether they can relax? I don't know how on Earth they do it, if I'm totally honest! It must be SUCH hard work and how they can relax properly is anyone's guess!
They earn every single solitary penny!
Nik said on 13/Apr/18
@ Sandy Cowell
And isn't it great that Charity and Vanessa have kissed and made up? That's as long as they are going to make it work! Charity seemed sincere at the time and it was heart warming to see her so happy!
If I am not mistaken "Emmerdale" is the most televised soap in the UK, there are episodes of this soap on our screens every day of the week except on Saturday's and Sunday's, and on a Thursday night "Emmerdale" is usually on twice!
Like you said, there are a hell of a lot of lines to learn for our soap stars, even on an average week! Not only that but if an actor or actress does not get it right when they are being filmed then they will have to act out that scene again! However when an actor or actress is going through a spell when they are playing a major part in a soap they will find themselves under particular pressure, they will have to learn more lines than ever and get it right every moment they are being filmed or face having to be constantly refilmed more than they ever would during an average week. Not only that but when there are live episodes of a particular soap opera on our screens there will be lines to learn as always and also the unbelievable pressure on actors and actresses to get things right when they are being filmed, with no possible second chances.
The stars of our soaps must be really dedicated and they must really have the necessary level of desire and commitment to their soap in order to be given a part in that particular soap, their well deserved wages are very high but they are thoroughly deserved! The soap bosses do not offer out of control wages to their actors and actresses, and rightfully so too! Furthermore they demand actors and actresses who have the desire to work as hard as possible in order to make their soap a success, not actors and actresses who want to make as much money as possible!
Emma can have 5'6" from me!
Cheers!

Sandy Cowell said on 12/Apr/18
@ Nik - There are 6 episodes of 'Emmerdale' on per week and sometimes one of them is a double one. That's a whole lot of lines to learn, isn't it? They must really be dedicated and appreciate the high-demand jobs they are in.
Then every so often, their jobs are particularly pressured, as is happening to Emma here, when the storyline centres round their character. I thought the relationship between Vanessa and Charity was doing Charity a great deal of good, and it's a shame it didn't last. Also, there was an excellent opportunity to study what a three inch height difference looks like, and yes, it is quite a lot!
Today I go for 5ft6 for Emma - certainly no less!

The soap stars certainly do earn their bacon! They have to appear in episodes of their soap most days of the week nowadays, and as we know there are even two episodes of the same soap on our TV screens some nights of the week! Think of the actors and actresses in "Emmerdale", how many episodes of this soap are on per week Sandy? Furthermore think about all the lines that they have to learn!
On top of all this they even have to sometimes face the pressure of being in a live episode!
Hollywood stars earn million of pounds a year, which is a lot more than what soap stars earn. Yes the soap stars earn a phenomenal wage in comparison to what the vast majority of the public earn, but like you said they are receiving a hard earnt wage. They are continually in the public spotlight week after week, year after year, and they have a talent that is valuable to the millions of people who watch the soaps every day!
๐
Sandy Cowell said on 8/Jun/17
@ Nik - I think it's commonly the way for soap stars, probably because with film stars, their characters are all too often larger than life just as they are in their films! But they can afford to be once they make it to Hollywood because of the money they rake in!
None work as hard as the soap stars though, and I always think that when any soap star makes it big, it is a well justified break!
Actors like Emma are making a hard earnt wage, and I hope they have plenty of fun along the way! They deserve to! ๐

I bet many people will have her down as being noisy in real life too, it's incredible how people can be fooled!
I never knew she was in "Heartbeat", I must have missed that episode!
I can't work out her height very easily, she often seems to wear pants or trousers that cover up her feet, so I don't know what footwear she has got on. There is no guess from me then, perhaps I had better pay attention more on "Emmetdale" and then come back with a prediction!
Sandy Cowell said on 7/Jun/17

I also saw her in an episode of 'Heartbeat', and she was none too quiet in that either!

I wouldn't have been able to understand that sort of humour as a kid either! I think it was great that they slipped in that little gem into the episode of "Emmerdale" on the 10th January! ๐ to the scriptwriter who got Emma's character to say this!
The incredible thing is that Emma Atkins is much quieter and far more reserved in real life than how she is on "Emmerdale", her choice of partner is so much different in real life too with her preferring someone who is quiet and shy!
Sandy Cowell said on 5/Jun/17
