I remember one scene in The Godfather 2 where Dominic was standing with AL Pacino. It was an indoor shot but the angle didn't show their full bodies. Anyway I got the impression of a 6'0-6'0.5 peak and 5'10.5ish by the time The Sopranos rolled around.

Frank doesn’t look anywhere near 80 in the picture. I can’t help but feel that he went before his time, possibly due to the stress of show business.

It might bring you fame, fortune, recognition and popularity, but it can’t be much fun when you want to pop down to the shops and are descended upon for autographs and photos, however well-meaning the people are.

@ Sinclair - Not a bad summary at all; in fact I’d say it’s a good supposition of average heights.

It isn’t just countries which vary though. Different parts of the same country, even if it’s a comparatively small country such as England, vary from area to area and city to city.

Great add, Rob! Probably no more than 5’8.5” by The Sopranos era when he was fast approaching seventy, but at the time of Raging Bull, I would have thought a solid 5’9”, small average guy.

In my opinion, for males, 5’9” is small average, 5’10” is average average and 5’11” is big average. For females, 5’4” is small average, 5’5” is average average and 5’6” is big average, in my opinion. This is just what I observe everyday, but yes, it really depends on the country and the generation. Each generation is a bit taller than the last.

Frank has been in some fantastic films, and I’ll be looking out for him as of today.

I have copies of Casino and Goodfellas, and I’m watching Boardwalk Empire, the exciting gangster fest. As gangster movies are Frank’s forte, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he makes a guest appearance in Boardwalk. 🤞 There are so many actors in this, so you never know…..

It took me long enough to get into the aforementioned series, but when I started it, I was hooked immediately. I’ve a sneaking suspicion that The Sopranos would have the same effect on me.

Frank can have 5ft8.5 😀👌🏼 His thick steely grey hair could indeed give an onlooker a taller impression of his height.
