@ Oliver Walter - I didn't expect to read as interesting and enlightening a comment on Eddie's page as yours. Comments such as this one, from a person who knew the celebrity from schooldays or something similar, are priceless.

Eddie gets 5ft7.5. I've taken off a quarter of an inch in agreement with what you said. I'd like to see 'Tyrannossaur' again soon, controversial and shocking as it is.

He was in my year at school, though we weren't friends, and unless he had a post-puberty growth spurt, he's no more than 5'7". He was a funny-looking kid, but supremely confident and self-assured.

I was watching a bit of 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' and it was time to turn over to 'Medium'. I moved the button the wrong way and said the 'f' word - twice. Seconds after, Eddie said it TWICE in the movie!
Worth expressing my momentary mirth....

5ft7.75, but his build brings his height down at first glance.

Eddie is a top actor, but if heβs over 5β6β, Iβm a Dutchman.

How about this, folks? In the following episode, Tony Hills described Eddie as a 'really big guy' when explaining to his mate why he had to refund Eddie's money for the iffy drugs! Well, he does have a strong, bulky physique, there's no denying that.....πͺ

How truly amazing! I've just seen Eddie Marsan star in an old episode of 'EastEnders'. He was banging on Tony Hills' door, complaining that Tone had sold him some duff drugs, so he was playing a guy on the wrong side of the law, something he's continued to excel at throughout his career! π―
I couldn't really compare him to anyone else in this appearance of his, but I've seen enough of him to give him 5ft7.75.

Seems about right. He isn't reaching it most of the time though with his posture but if he stood straight would hit it.

Also in Hancock...played a real nasty piece of work

Eddie turns up in a fair few really good thrillers! He was also in 'Tyrannosaur', 'The Disappearance of Alice Creed' and I'm sure he had a little role as a little creep (yes!) in the film 'Gangster No. 1'!
He is written here as 5ft7 and a half, so I will agree. He can look a bit shorter because of his shape, but he is a darn good actor! π π

Eddie's one of those actors who has grown into a dependable performer, always turns in a good performance.
Can seem anywhere from 5ft 7 to 8 I felt.

Also in Hancock. Got dwarfed by Will Smith

I'd bet barefoot that Downey would have nothing on him but I think like when playing Tony Stark, Downey is frequently wearing lifts as Holmes. He can look a fairly strong 5'8" IMO at times on Ray Donovan.
Alice Creed said on 16/Jan/14
In THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED, he is significantly taller than martin compston for 4-5cm. However this site claims that martin compston is 172cm. So either one of them was wrong
KatFish said on 12/Dec/13
He's shorter than Robert Downey Jr. in both Sherlock Holmes movies. 5'9"? Not a chance. Excellent actor (amazing to look at on the screen in Vera Drake, couldn't take my eyes off of him!) but you can't act an additional 4-6" of height... soory, must disagree w/ his agency.
Pedro said on 18/May/13
According to his agency, he is 5'9":
