There was a question on 'The Chase' last night as to who or what Saint Crispin was the Patron Saint of. I immediately said, "Potatoes!' 🥔🍟🥔 as one of my spontaneous silly answers which I can't resist from time to time.
The answer was "Shoemakers." Yes, it sounds odd, but there's a Patron Saint for most things.
Donald Crisp's lifetime is going back some time now, having been born in 1882, so when he starred in 'National Velvet', he was an adult to Elizabeth Taylor's young girl. He'll have been 17-and-a-half at the turn of the 20th Century so either nearly fully grown or properly grown, height-wise anyway! His stature of 5ft9.5 was quite a tall one for a chap born in the early 1880s.
Donald Crisp died in his 92nd year, in 1974. 🎬🕯️

Donald looks very handsome with his beard! Also, I think his surname (Crisp) is delightful; there was a Gillian Crisp in my primary school, with dark hair and freckles - very pretty! She was of short to average height, slim and could dance very well.
I wonder, were the two Crisp families related? It's a small world out there!
Listen to this, folks: there was the niece of Kenneth Williams in my class in my junior school, and her one-year-younger sister had the very same face as Kenneth, only with long blonde hair!
Donald Crisp can have 5ft9.5. I'll have to look out for him next time I catch 'Wuthering Heights'!

Rob, could you add "best remembered for Broken Blossoms, The Black Pirate, Red Dust, Mutiny on the Bounty, The Life of Emile Zola, Jezebel, Wuthering Heights, How Green Was My Valley, National Velvet and The Man from Laramie."

Rob, is this a listing for the old Oscar-winning character actor?
