I have ordered a couple of Middle of the Road CDs and one of them comes today. Hooray!

Before Blondie found fame, there was another flaxen-haired singer who sang with a group called Middle of the Road. They were a Scottish four-piece band, and blonde Sally Carr was the lead singer. I havenβt found her height, but sheβs described as petite.
I had their song βSoley Soleyβ trapped in my head today so I had to play it, and many others besides. I had a massive girl crush on Sally when I was 10 and 11, and the same applied to Debbie a few years later!
Debbie gets 5ft3.75. πΉπΌπΆπ΅π€

@ Gladstone - Yes, she most certainly was a terrific beauty and still is. David Cronenberg was over the moon to have her star in Videodrome, and who can blame him?
I hope you are well, my friend! πππΌ

Have a great day, you gorgeous girl! My Dad fancied you, and Iβm not entirely surprised; I had pictures of you on my
wall as a teenager.

Many Happy Returns to Deborah Harry, who celebrates her 76th Birthday today, though she looks well over 2 decades younger.
My Birthday guess for Deborah is 5ft3.5.

I saw Deborah in a film called 'Heavy', which also stars Liv Tyler, an actress who shares Debbie's Birthday, 1st July. It was in this film that I realised that she was most definitely NOT the height I'd read for her in the Seventies! (5ft6)
I'm fairly certain that the height discrepancy wasn't down to Deborah herself, who has absolutely EVERYTHING in the looks department!
I'm going for 5ft3.75 for this terrific, talented, singer-songwriter turned actress.

Wishing this beautiful diamond a very Happy Birthday! When she was first in the charts, my brother thought she was about 16! No no - far too sexy for that!

The official line is that Debbie Harry is 5 feet, 3 inches tall, although she wore heels.

Here's the proof that neither height nor a conventional beauty is needed.

Before anything about her height, I would like to say that Deborah Harry is a thoroughly genuine person. I have always been fond of her originality and her music so when she did a radio interview back in the 70's, I wasn't going to miss it!
But what surprised me is how much she cared for her fans! She advised us not to buy a certain brand of fan memorabilia because they're not worth the money, as if it was any skin off her nose! I was taken aback even at the young age that I was! She was also very warm and devoted in her personal life as well and even self-sacrificing.
I would read the music press from '79 onwards, wherein I learnt that she was 5ft6 and 8 stone 3 pounds (115lbs exactly). That is a fair old height loss! I also, from the same source, read that Kate Bush was 5ft3.5 and that tallies with what is written on this fine website!!
Debbie still looks great today and is going strong, and I was delighted to find out the other day that she has just received a reward for her contribution to the music industry!

Nice singer. I feel comfortable picturing sweet Debbie at 5'3",and she's pretty. But she mostly wears slacks performing.(Favorite song:The Tide Is High.)

I met Debbie Harry in 1990, and I think she may be as short as 5'2" (but definitely no taller than 5'3"). I say this because I am 5'3.5" and while wearing a 1-inch heel and standing 1 foot from her (face to face), we were exactly the same height, and she was in heels that were 2.5" high.

Debbie's 5'3",according to 5'3" model Janice Attwood, author of "The Complete Petite." More comfortable performing in pants than dresses, but not very talkative.
Sean said on 17/May/11
i think she might be a little taller than that. there's pic in The Strokes' photo album where she's sitting next to Julian Casablancas(6'2") and she doesn't look too much shorter than 5'7"
gregory lehmann said on 9/May/11
I feel more comfortable calling her Debbie Harry, but her 5'3" height is right, but Debbie's too skinny at 102 pounds, yet, she's just right at that weight. She's rather shy, though, like 5'3" Sally Field,5'2" Bonnie Franklin,5'1" Annette Funicello, and 5' Cathy Rigby, but she looked best wearing pants and flats as a singer.Sometimes, though,Debbie tended to be a tomboy.

I met Deborah Harry, she introduced herself as Deborah, in Cinncinnati, Ohio when she was there to perform. I was so taken aback by her quiet, almost shy, presence. She was absolutely, amazingly beautiful w/ phenomenal fashion sense. Simply elegant. I was truly in awe of her. She was so polite & dignified, listening to whomever was speaking w/ full attention, always having something intelligent/interesting to say. When she performed, she was fabulous. She oozed sexuality & had that "it" factor that makes someone a star. I've met many famous people in the music industry & she's right at the top of my list of most amazing. She's truly one classy lady! She's very petite & around 5'3" in flats. ;)

Just met her this week, 5' 4". Kinda not nice. You wouldn't be if you had to play a dump in the middle of a desert next to a state prison and 40 miles to the nearest city but then Dylan played there so it is cool in Nowhere Nevada.

I met her in the early 80's. She is tiny! If she's over 5 feet she must wear shrinks in her shoes.
Aimie said on 30/May/08
I met debbie harry a couple of times here in NYC. I am 5'6'' and she seemed to be a couple of inches smaller than me, with both of us wearing heels. So 5'4 ish is about right.

I saw Debby Harry in Shinnicock Long Island about 4 yrs ago. I'm 5ft 3 and no way is she that tall...if she was 5 ft she was huge
Brad said on 6/Aug/06
She was really nice in '89 to meet. Yer right, she's really changed. I saw them in a large bar in a ski town in Utah. To see Pat Benatar play a supper club off the Ventura Freeway & Blondie in a bar is pretty sad considering I thought they both were on an even par musically & vocally on days when I saw them with 15,000 people. 5' 4" is about right.

I have a bunch of pics with her.she isnt overly friendly and saw her recently in concert.never said goodbye to the crowd.just walked off.and I was at the Rock n Roll hall of fame back in March, and she and I bulls***ted but she wouldnt sign or pose for anyone.I just recently got her first album which was in a hippie folk group called Wind and the Willows.the last cd,sans the first 3 or 4 songs was an underated flop. The Curse of Blondie indeed.as famous as they were, they strangly never sold more than a million each release over here, while The Cars(who Blondie opened for) sold 4-6 million on certain releases.whats your fave Blondie cd? dont get much celebs by you? U.K?
Haylie said on 22/Jul/06
OMG Glenn I am official so jealous of you! I love 'Blondie' too! I must say it is a bit of a mental outfit she's wearing in this one though! I think she looks 5'3-5'4ish here and did look that back in her hay-day!
