It used to all the time. I'm not going to mention a name here, but there is a very famous movie star who would not work with me because of that, because he was a shrimpy little guy. [He] didn't want people to know it.

Well, two things. One he was really that big, he wasn't really that tall, but he was really that big. When I did the movie I was six foot four, he was six foot five, but I was 210 pounds and he was 350 pounds and that was 350 pounds of muscle. He was like almost a whole other human being than me when I stood next to him but to actually get that that height of Coffey there were apple cuts, apple boxes all over the (set), trails of them that he would walk along while we walked next to him just to give him that height.

Definitely a bigger chance of a little over 193 peak than Conan O'Brien, who I still have in that 193, minimum 192.7 range peak, but not as likely in the upper 193 range as peak Liam Neeson.

The Horror Channel are showing Stephen King's 'The Langoliers' this afternoon, as a special August Bank Holiday treat. They often show a Stephen King epic on Bank Holidays; last time it was 'The Stand'.
This is one of David's truly NICE roles. Your heart goes out to him right from the beginning when we hear that his ex-wife has died in a terrible way.
David plays a captain of a flight firm called 'American Pride'. He's certainly at his peak in this 90s extravaganza, which impressed me so much when I first saw it that I watched it on Christmas Day and then a month later, on my birthday!

The one with Ryan Hurst that Rob posted is a more even shot, Morse definitely looks to have shrunk a bit. I don’t think Hurst is a full 6’5” guy and has about an inch on David.

Confident that his own treatment of the rogue will work, he gives him pills, but the selfish piece of work just flushes them down the toilet. 💊💊🚽
With so much money and power, you'd think that David's character would pay for supervision of the disgraceful sicko, but he wouldn't want the knowledge of his ways ruining his hard-earnt reputation. Alas, he pays the ultimate price, getting murdered by him with a broken bottle to his jugular. He was 55/56 at the time this was made, but still as strong as many men half his age, picking the louse up with ease to have a go at him! 👏😋

My favourite of David's movies HAS to be 'The Green Mile', followed by 'The Langoliers', both Stephen King films. I've arrived at the 'Green Mile' scene wherein he, Tom and some other prison officer are all entranced by the little grey mouse - or should I say gray - this is American, after all! Apart from Michael Clarke Duncan, who plays the gifted gentle giant, and whose height is digitally enhanced, David is the tallest member of the cast. I'm watching this fabulous film on Film 4, which means it'll show again, folks! XXX

If Morse wife is only 5'10 then i wouldn't buy over 6'2 from a peak Morse. But i'm personally think Morse peak low is 6'3 3/4 maybe right at 192.5cm and more like a strong 6'3 1/4 now compare to big 6'4 Ryan Hurst.

Normally I really like David Morse. He was lovely in 'The Langoliers' and 'The Green Mile', but the part he plays in 'House' and the cop hell-bent on bringing House down is downright horrid. He's taller than Greg House as well, 😝 but Dr House, played by Hugh Laurie, can still look him square in the face.

I think Doug Hutchinson is the guy who married a sixteen year old and I just recently read he was five foot four in the green mile. Michael Clarke Duncan is listed as six foot five and three hundred and fifty now pounds when he did the green mile. Looks more than that, David Morse is a big dude and Michael towered over him. But they could have done something to make him look even taller than he was. Tom Thanks was six foot even I think. Bunch of big guys. Michael was just bigger in general than the other guys so that helped. Awesome movie. Would be nice to see Doug Hutchinson not play a pyschotic jack ass for once. Later!

@Rampage: I think some of what they say is a myth tho because SJH is 2.7" taller than I am (more or less) and only loses 0.9" in a day and because he's taller. I have a friend who is maybe my height or 1/8" shorter and he's built differently very short legs long torso and he loses as much as I lose (6'5flst out of bed/ 6'4.2 at his lowest). @Rampage: I think some of what they say is a myth tho because SJH is 2.7" taller than I am (more or less) and only loses 0.9" in a day and because he's taller. I have a friend who is maybe my height or 1/8" shorter and he's built differently very short legs long torso and he loses as much as I lose (6'5flst out of bed/ 6'4.2 at his lowest). A buddy of mine used to live a few houses down from Morse and his family in the suburbs of Philadelphia. My buddy is six feet even and he ran into Morse in the neighborhood. He confirms Morse is in the six foot four range. An undeniably big guy in person.

I just recently met David, and I will say he is definitely 6"4. He is very tall, thin, but stocky....which levels out with his height! He did not have much of a heel on his boots that day, and I am 5"5 and was wearing 4 inch heeled boots, and I was only eye level with his chest! He did tower over everyone in the room, and not one man was taller than him. Very tall, and a gorgeous solidly built man! ;o)

I've met Hugh Laurie and he's definitely 6'2"-6'3ish"...Robert Leonard looks shorter to me than 5'11", I'd say 5' 10" (and I met him too...stood next to him in the elevator ride down into the parking garage.) So I figure David Morse is definitely 6'4" when you see him in the Tritter Arc on House.

I saw David Morse in the play " The Seafarer" , this past winter. He towered over the rest of the cast, including Ciaran Hinds, who is probably 6'0". I think 6'4" is correct for Morse.

Just saw Distubia and Morse looked huge in that movie. He dwarfed everyone! There wasn't a single person in the movie that didn't look tiny next to him. Also, like I said before he's gotten pretty built over the last few years. He's not skinny at all anymore. Just a big dude all around. He's 6ft4 no doubt, and he towered over the 5ft8.5 Carrie Ann Moss by 8 inches easy.

This is the most exaggerated piece of crap I've ever read. If anyone has watched "The Green Mile", David Morse is just 2 inches more than Tom Hanks, who is listed as 5'10. Morse would be 6'0-6'1 in that case. And how about the giant in the film, Michael Clarke Duncan who is listed as 6'6? If Morse is 6'4 and Michael is 6'6, does this picture make sense to you folks? David is not onlytall (of course 6'4 or more) but also built like a mountain; I know he was not that bulky in the 80ties but he "grew up" and his arms, his hands, his neck are those of a very well bult and strong man; He looks like an oak and ridiculizes his costars; a good old fashioned American actors in short!

I agree with this height. He had a good three to four inches on Tom Hanks in The Green Mile. Also, James Cromwell had only a marginal height advantage over him when they were in scenes together. I see 6'4" as legit.
