As well as the brilliant crime drama Cracker, David stars in an episode of Inspector Morse called ‘Dead On Time’.
He plays a guy who gets well and truly stitched up for a euthanasia-style killing, as he’d taken a lover years ago, killing the Fallons’ daughter and granddaughter in a car wreck while he was drunk. Then when Mr Fallon falls ill and doesn’t want to be completely incapacitated, he instructs his wife to shoot him.
All fingers point to David’s character, Peter.
This has a terribly sad ending.
5ft9 for the actor. 👌🏼

I watched him in the Cracker Episode 'To Say I Love You' last night. He's running Gamblers Anonymous meetings. Fitz says, "They're run by *ankers for *ankers!"
"I run the local branch!" adds David's character, Graham. "I rest my case!" retorts Fitz!
If you haven't already guessed, Fitz can't stand Graham, thinking he's trying to win over his wife, Judith.
5ft9.

David always seems to star in dramatisations which make him look smaller than 5ft9.
I'll give an example: in Cracker, he had to stand next to the 6ft1 Robbie Coltrane, in Inspector Morse, he didn't look too tall alongside 5ft11 Kevin Whately, and now, in an episode of Agatha Christie's Marple, entitled Murder Is Easy, he has look up to Anna Chancellor in high heels, who simply has to reach 6ft+ in those contraptions. (I think she's chalked up as a scrape under 5ft10, but looks taller in my eyes.)
Also starring in Marple is the just under 6ft Benedict Cumberbatch, but on the brighter side, he towers over tiny and charming 5-footer Shirley Henderson!
David gets 5ft9 from me. 😁👍

He told me he was 5'11". He wasn't - 15 years ago. About 5'9" then would have been right
