Arch, I don't think Roger had lost anything yet. He looked textbook strong 6ft1 just a couple of years earlier opposite Christopher Lee in Man With Golden Gun. By View To A Kill, it was clear he was struggling with 6ft1 though. Curd likely was at an age where a bit of loss had occurred. Possibly was always a flat 6ft3 guy? That'd be worst case though....but no way was he above this listing. 192cm could have been earlier in the day. Smoked, heavy drinker, weight gain and awful posture. Looked like a guy with back issues

Rewatched my DVD of The Spy Who Loved Me the other night and I stand corrected. Curd actually looked about 2 inches taller than Roger, some of the angles weren't the best for comparison but I got a good look at him and think he would be about 2 inches taller if stood his best and measured. He was 61 or 62 in that film. He looked taller than the 189 I and some others thought in the past.

In Vault of Horror which was only four years before Spy he did look about 6 ft 3. Big, solid built man, built a bit like a German car! Odd though, in this photo here was 1978 with his wife I think, he's barefoot by the pool and looks more like a 6'-6'1 ft man! Click Here

I have seen Jürgens in And God Created Women, The Longest Day, Battle of Britain and The Spy Who Loved Me. Although these films came in the later part of his career, in none of them did Jürgens ever strike me as someone much over 6’3”. In The Spy Who Loved Me, I would have estimated he was only 6’2.75” or 6’2.5” but I think he had started to shrink by then. My peak estimate for Jürgens remains 6’3.25”, I would only vote 6’3.5” for his peak height if I was feeling really generous.

Looked 6'4" peak and probably was 6'4" peak, regardless of comparisons to Roger Moore's height when Jurgens was older. Hats off to this guy, who ended up being interned by his own country during the second world war because he was considered "political unreliable" since he opposed national socialism and Hitler.

He was a legit one inch taller than Roger Moore 185-186 cms during The Bond movie. He was a legit 188-189 cms and a 190-191 cms range seems likely.

In the Mephisto Waltz if anything Alan Alda looked to edge out Jurgens, though his posture wasn't great. Jurgens would have been 56 at the time, unlikely to have lost that much height. He lost height quite early I think, in The Battle of Neretva he looks more 6'2 with Hardy Kruger who I have at around a 180 5'11.

I wasn't aware we had a page for him! If you really watch his earlier films he wasn't far off 6'4", he could look like a lumbering John Wayne from a distance. I think this is accurate for peak anyway, he had about 5.5-6 inches on Richard Burton and about an inch-1.5 shorter than Christopher Lee.

In one of the final scenes of "The Enemy Below" Jurgens stands on the deck alongside 6' 1" Robert Mitchum and appears two inches taller, making the 6' 3" listing seem right. With shorter actors Jurgens does give a 6' 4" impression at times, perhaps because of his strong build.

He probably lost a lot of height as he aged. In the 50s (when he was in his 30s and 40s) he did look close to 6ft4. In AND GOD CREATED WOMAN he looks quite large. In VAULT OF HORROR looked to be about the same height as Tom Baker who was a legit six three.
