Classic Coronation Street: I don’t remember Tyrone knocking out dodgy MOT certificates - good Heavens! Now he’s under pressure by the hoodlums to continue, even though he doesn’t want to.

No wonder he appreciates the security of family life now. He had quite a turbulent start in life.

It’s Tyrone’s 18th Birthday in the Classic version of Coronation Street. He shows girlfriend, Maria, one of
his birthday cards, and when she opens it, there’s a farting noise. 🤣💨

Some 22 years later, they’re making much better ones than that; it was a wet fart, sounding as though the culprit might have followed through!

Back in those days, Tyrone did most definitely look shorter than he does now. He’s not much taller than Maria.

Young Tyrone has found himself a lovely little black-and-white dog, shaped a bit like a greyhound, in Classic Coronation Street. I remember the dog well - he keeps her and calls her Monica.

Alan Halsall looks so young in these episodes that he can't have been fully grown yet - he just CAN'T have been! He doesn't end up growing terribly tall either when all is said and done.

There was a little girl in my class when I was 4-7 years old with the same surname and she was below average in the height department too.

Perhaps it runs in the family name, I wonder.....?

Alan's Tyrone started in the soap at Christmastime 1998.

He looked ever so young and innocent back then, but I think he'd stopped growing by then, which will have been when he was in his late teens.

If anything, he'll have been half-an-inch away from his ultimate 5ft6. 😁

Tyrone's hard-drinking, fast-living Mum, played by attractive Margi Clarke, has turned up at Deirdre Rachid's doorstep, having befriended Deirdre when she was wrongfully sent to prison.

So THAT'S how Tyrone ended up living in Coronation Street! I hadn't given it much thought for a while. He'll have been a teenager when we first saw him and about as like his Mum as chalk and cheese. That is until recently, leaving his stable family background to prolong his 'youth', so to speak!

Of all the members of the cast, he's one of the last you'd have expected to undergo a mid-life crisis.

He's more like his Mum than he'd care to admit, but at least she was sexy!

Tyrone thinks it's payback time and wants to show Fiz up for having an article written, backing up his side of things: going off with a girl many years his junior and splitting up the family.

His gran says he can't even write his own name! Having seen his scrawl containing an outline of what he wanted to say, I'm backing her up! His grammar is atrocious and he's written capitals mid-sentence. Besides, who'd take his side? 😝

Yes, Tyrone is indeed persevering with the relationship with the young Russian girl, and he seems to have taken things further now AND moved back home for the sake of the two kids, one of whom is so upset that she's started wetting her bed. It's always the kids who suffer the most in cases such as these.

If he genuinely cared about those two kids, his head would never have been turned in the first place. 😝

I'd like to know how tall the Russian girl is because Tyrone looks tall next to her!

I think that young, dark-haired French (?) girl is close to hitting on Tyrone! I wonder, how will he respond? Maybe I'm misinterpreting the situation. I can't remember this happening to Tyrone before! 🙊 Furthermore, she makes him look taller, so when I searched for his page a minute ago, I looked on the first section, expecting to see at least 5ft7.5.

🎅 Almost exactly a year after his last comment, I thought it appropriate tonight to continue on the Christmas theme from last year. It was rather sweet that this evening's 'Coronation Street' played out to Greg Lake's song 'I Believe In Father Christmas' as Alan's character Tyrone carried his little daughter upstairs on Christmas Eve night, having just been looking out of the window with her and discussing Santa Claus.

'I look to the skies with excited eyes...' is a line from Greg's song.

Well, stone me! Look who I just found! I'm surprised I haven't seen him on the Corrie pages!
5ft6 seems fine for him, though if I'd had to get say whether he should be less or more, I'd have given him half an inch more!
So on this Christmassy night, Alan* can have 5ft6.25! That will up his average a tiny bit for the New Year!


* Nik - Though not quite as rude as usual, my autocorrect tried to call him 'Alas'! Perhaps that was appropriate when he was with that violent tall woman, but not now that he's happy with Fiz! 😉
