She Is Tall For Chinese Woman
Jackie Lee said on 30/Jul/22
@Christian
Yeah I suppose you're right my mom is 4'11" so her male equivalent is 5'4" and I just beat that at a strong 5'5"

@Jackie
I'd say around 50/50 from my experience, though I've noticed that more often than not, men tend to be taller than their mother's male equivalent height, regardless of the father's height. My mom's 5'11" (male equivalent would be 6'4"-6'4.5"), but I'm 6'5 3/8", despite my dad being only 5'11" as well.

Very Tall Chinese Woman

I've noticed that girls tend to be taller than their moms even if their mother are already tall. It's quite strange really, lots of guys i know are shorter than their dads.

She is 178cm

5'6 for women and 5'10 for men is quite tall for Chinese people in her parents' generation considering they may have had less nutrition. That's a little over the average height of people in large developed cities in China today, which is actually quite impressive. Liu looks 5'10 for sure. She consistently looks slightly taller than other models.

I think she's 176cm and 177cm if really pushing it.

I have been a casual fan of this young lady's face and personality for a while. If Liú Wén is selling 178cm, then I'm buying.
For the following reasons:
1. At any given point she appears to be 2-4cm taller than Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, with Hadid slightly edging out Jenner. If Liú is in the 5'10" range that would put Hadid/Jenner in the 5'9" range... and for that matter, pushes one Miss Swift into the 5'8" range.
2. Liú Wén was cast for the show "We Are in Love"(CHN ver) alongside a Korean entertainer/model - pre-THAAD econ ban. His "profile height" is 182cm, but actual height is an estimated 179cm. The visible difference between the two was negligible.

Considering the average for a Chinese woman is supposed to be somewhere in 5'1 range, 5'6 is comfortably in the tall range, kinda similar to a 5'8-5'9 woman in western countries... Same thing for 5'10 men, that are probably the equivalent of 6'1 guys and 4 good inches taller than the average man in China!!!
MaryAnne said on 20/Feb/17
As for a chinese woman we can consider it tallish.

I wouldn't say pretty tall, just above average. Since the national average in Mainland China is 172.1cm for men and 160.1 for women.
@ 178 is not pretty tall for the average height of women is only 160.1? Ok,I understand, 190 is not tall for Dutch women because their average height is over 170.
198TravelLife said on 9/Mar/16
@Paul
Maybe in urban China. But in rural China people are shorter on average. The data you've seen is most likely from areas such as Beijing or Shanghai where people are taller. China as a whole not so much
Allie said on 23/Feb/16
Anyone can be tall if they posses the genes to be tall. Explain the short Dutch people then?
From this girl's comments, it seems like her parents are slightly above average in height for her country. No big deal as people come in all different heights.
She looks around a solid 5'10.
Arch Stanton said on 22/Feb/16
She looks amazing. Probably got tall genes on both sides of the family and ended up being a bit taller than expected. 5'10 is very tall for a Chinese woman, sort of like 6'2" for a woman in the west really as the China average has got to be a few inches below our average. Sort of like 6'4 for that Japanese actor who I can't recall.

It seems like people get shocked when they see an asian taller than them especially a woman!
