I actually thought Udo was shorter but when I was young I conflated him with Bruno Ganz. Ganz I now know is a bona-fide great film actor, versatile with lots of gravitas, while Udo is more a big personality deliciously hammy kind of actor and a fair bit taller.

Standing next to the huge Vince Vaughn, all but the tallest of fellows is going to look at least fairly undersized. Even in one of his films (Brawl On Cell Block 99), Vince's height is up for debate in the prison he's in, which is a rare occurrence in movies!
I'm going for 5ft9.5 for Udo's peak and 5ft8.25 for today's height.
