"He flashes a smile and stands up to answer the door. He's about 5-foot-6. He'd say 5-foot-7".

He didn't look that short in Amadeus. I would have given him 5'8". He looked fairly average.

mmmm...I've read 5'8" and more for Hulce. Based on Animal House, comparing him to Peter Reiger, among others, I'd put Hulce around 5'8". I gotta admit, I don't believe the 1986 article that says 5'6".

I've read Mozart was 5'4".
Hulce was wearing some heels in Amadeus, but no more than a man's average heel size in the 1700s. Circa 2".

Probably closer to 5'6". That's why they picked him to play Mozart, as in every music encyclopedia Mozart is described as a short guy
