@ Sandy Cowell - I do too! I am also equally sorry, there are nowadays more and more names that members of both genders can be called, this is a good thing!

Mid sixties party, Shawn is a 1957er, a girl, blonde, haven't seen her in person since '71. Squirt guns were a must at grade school birthday parties in the 60's. They lived just down the road from North Street School in Greenwich on the way to the country club. Shawn married a boy who lived next door to the school named Peter. Imagine marrying somebody you knew at age 5. Wow!.

@ Nik - It's always a good thing to be open-minded about as many things as possible. I still thought Brian was funny for a girl though... sorry!!!😂😂

@ Sandy Cowell - That's exactly what I am thinking, Torry is one of Shelley's brothers and Shawn is short for Shawna. A lot of the shortened names for one gender can be a traditional name for the other gender and some names are given to people of both genders, there are a lot you know and there is nothing wrong with this. I find it fascinating to hear of these names and about women called Brian, I celebrate name diversity with open arms.

@ Nik - Then maybe Torry is male if Shawn is a girl! It might be short for Shawna, the same as often girls named Georgina call themselves George and girls called Briana can shorten to Brian. It sounds funny to us, that's for sure, but names vary as to which sex they're for from country to country, or more accurately, from US to UK!

I once saw a film starring Lynda Carter starring as a beautiful woman.... called BRIAN! I even checked the spelling when the credits came up at the end!

@ Sandy Cowell - That's what I thought ... but no! Shawn is one of her sisters, there are a number of women called Shawn about but I wrongly assumed that she was one of Shelley's brothers!

I can't imagine Babe being one of the boys either, like you said, she is one very tall Babe! I like her name by the way!

@ Nik - So Shaun and Lance are the brothers! I can't imagine Babe being one of the boys! So Shannon, Torry and Babe all level out at around 5ft9.5; that is one very tall Babe! 🐖 I thought Babes were meant to be small, just like the little piglet in the film of the same name. Either that, little specimens, or a pet name....

Or how about a name for a pet?

@ Sandy Cowell - Here goes her 10th comment! I have done some research and found out that Shelley has siblings called Shannon, Torry, Shawn, Lance and Babe, Shelley and her three sisters appear to be separated by roughly two inches and her two brothers look like they are the tallest of the six siblings! Both brothers look like they are over 6'0"!

@ Nik - And now it's time for number nine! There is only one way to find out and that's to Google her family. They might give dodgy results for height sometimes, but I can't see any point in exaggerating family members!

@ Bradley - That must have been a great party!

Was at the Hack house in Greenwich at a sister's birthday party 50+ years ago, her father was really tall! Met her recently, as listed.

@ Sandy Cowell - Shelley can have her 6th comment!

I agree with you totally and I will be interested to know how many of her siblings are brothers and how many are sisters.

Take care. Yes, I enjoyed my late night snack, thanks for that.
Sandy Cowell said on 18/Jul/18
@ Nik - Yes it is, and at the height of 5ft7.5 as well, which is no mean height for a woman.

I hope you enjoyed your late night snack!

@ Sandy Cowell - Thanks for that! I may do some research to find out the heights of her family members. Isn't it interesting that Shelley is the oldest and smallest of six siblings?

It's nice to provide Shelley Hack with her fourth comment!

Didn't Shelley used to advertise 'Charlie' perfume in the Seventies?
If so, then she looked very tall and nicely lean! I was growing up and hoping to follow suit! 😭

@ Nik - Take a look at this Nik! At 5ft7/5ft7.5, Shelley is the shortest of a large family!

Also noteworthy is that this is only her second comment (both by me!), and I don't think that would be the case if visitors read what an exceptionally tall family she comes from!

Take care and enjoy the coming week! 🍵🍪 Your late-night snack from me! 😄 Enjoy! 😋

If Shelley was the smallest in her family, with a Dad of 6ft7 and five younger siblings all taller than her, there must have been a lot of jokes flitting about in her direction as the family 'shortie'! That seems unbelievable to people like me, but for her, making a living as a model first and foremost, a profession wherein you have to be reasonably tall, such comments must have gone straight over her head!
Then her looks found her a job as a replacement Charlie's Angel, so she had well and truly made it!
Of course, I remember her back then, so her 5ft7.5 height comes as no surprise to me, especially as I was fully aware that she had been a model before she joined the popular TV series.
