Sharon was definitely at least 5'8", she is a tall woman for sure. She sure looked it in Total Recall next to Arnold and Robert De Niro wasn't too much taller than her, he was shorter than Stone when she was wearing heels in Casino. Joe Pesci made her look like her a giant though, but he would make pretty much every woman look super tall since he was only 5'3". Sharon Stone was 5'8".

She was listed as 5'7" for years and years. It's surprising to find out someone is taller when they are older, especially as we are are supposed to shrink as we get older. Another one I can see in the screen above is Demi Moore who is listed at 5ft 4.5in. She was listed for years as 5ft 3in. Just shows that long standing, widely accepted listings for some celebrities are wrong.

171 range is too low. Mariska Hargitay is 5'7.5" and was shorter when Sharon appeared in a few episodes of Law $ Order SVU back in 2010. 172 cm minimum, but she really did look a good 5'8" past her 50th birthday and looked to clear 5'11" in heels. I've posted quite a few examples of this, but one is a 2009 pic where she's noticeably taller than 5'9" Andy Garcia even while standing behind him and not much shorter than Justin "almost 6-2" Timberlake. That same year, she was a good 2" taller in heels than 5'8" Michael Douglas in dress shoes and I've posted the 1992 photo before that shows Michael without his lifts going up on his toes just to barely edge out Sharon in low 1.5" type heels and most agree Douglas was around 5'9" back then.

Sharon could look as tall or possibly even taller in heels than George Clooney in dress shoes back in 2007: Click Here The first 3 photos are from the Michael Clayton premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival while the last photo is from an Aids benefit in Cannes. I believe Clooney's 5'11.5" claim was his height in shoes so Sharon is honestly not looking less than that.

No, she looks noticeably taller than Deniro in heels. I don't know which part of Canada you're living in, in my area your height is considered average at most. I'm 5'10-5'11 I'm only slightly above average, there's tons of guys above 6', or even around 6'3 here. I would say in my area, the average height for male is 5'9 to 5'10. I dunno maybe it's because I live in a college town surrounded by younger people.

Stallone is a notorious lift wearer so if he was looking noticeably taller, it was probably when he wore lifts. Sly was a bit taller than Sharon in the shower scene, but not a lot. Douglas also went to the same shoemaker as Stallone for his elevator shoes and you can see Douglas wearing huge elevator boots in some scenes in Basic Instinct. As I've posted before, Douglas was also barely taller without lifts: Click Here Sharon's low heels might give her half an inch advantage, yet Michael just edges her out by 1 cm or so and as Rob also noticed, Michael is even going up on his toes a bit.

Neither Stallone nor Douglas would have been more than 1 inch taller than Stone standing barefoot with equal posture. I think she's at least 5'8" and maintained her height at least into her 50's as she was taller than 5'7.75" Mariska Hargitay.

@James: There were countless problems with The Specialist as a film. I'm a big Stallone fan, but it really wasn't a very good movie. Rod Steiger's Cuban accent may have been the worst I've heard. The acting was wooden as well except for James Woods. Eric Roberts wore really big Cuban heels, though. Probably not that much smaller than Sharon's heels: Click Here Those look pretty close to a pair of Cuban heel boots I have with 2.75" heels. I think Roberts must have been somewhere from 5'8.5" to 5'9" and Stone from 5'8" to 5'8.5".

@Arch: Agreed. In Basic Instinct, Total Recall and the Specialist, Sharon in the early/mid 90s would personally be in my top 5. She also looked better than she has in years, imo at Cannes 2013. I thought they were older pictures at first glance. As for height, she seemed a legit 5'8" to me into at least her 50s so I'd say at least 5'8.5" morning. In fact, I wouldn't completely rule it out period, but a lot of her leading men during her heyday were in that 174-175 cm range(e.g., Michael Douglas, Sly Stallone, Eric Roberts, Robert De Niro) and I think she was an inch tops shorter than all. Of course, it depends on if you think they were more 5'9" or 5'8.5".

I'm just coming to the end of the film 'The Specialist' and yes, I can see Sharon looking a good, strong 5ft8 in this film, working next to Sylvester Stallone - quite brilliantly, I might add, Eric Roberts and James Woods. She can look all of them straight in the face, but more importantly, and of enormous credit to her acting skills, we see her playing a role in which she looks truly vulnurable.
Not surprising then that all three guys are competing to be the one who looks after her - and wins her heart!
Last time I voted, back in January, I thought that Sharon was 5ft7, but now with one of her greatest performances fresh in my mind, I review that to 5ft8. Sharon has gone shoeless quite a bit in this film, adding a convincing amount of weight to the argument of the extra inch!
Lovely performance from an equally lovely actress - and to think, my boyfriend didn't used to think I liked her, possibly because his other girlfriends didn't!

It can be helpful when you forget your elevators, at least that's one of the few photos that shows their feet. Maybe it should be called the Michael Douglas trick considering this was back in 1992. It's funny, people doubted Sharon was 5'8" because of how she looked with Michael, but didn't bother to look at their shoes or check the premiere photos. Seeing the series of photos that day, it's apparent there wasn't much of a height difference between the 2.

In that case, she looks taller than just a flat 5'8" to me if they have roughly the same heel height. Looks like Sharon has some pro wrestling ancestors, because in most her films , Sliver to name it, she doesn't look 5'8.5" at all. She doesn't look like a tall woman, and 174cm for a woman is tall. Guys, guys. Watch Total Recall. For most of her scenes with Arnold Sharon is wearing pretty flat shoes or bare foot. She looks maybe 5 or 6 inches shorter than him. If Arnold is 6'2" then Sharon is most likely 5'8". I also saw a video of her standing next to Madonna at a film festival. Sharon towers over Madge, even though both are wearing high heels. Sharon is tall. Don't forget she also modelled before she started her movie career. Most modelling agencies look for taller women.

Sylvester Stallone is not 5'10 or even 5'9. People who've met him say he's 5'7 or 5'8 and a shoe maker said he had been making Stallone 5'10 for years by making his shoes and boots tall. I was on a plane once, and had the fortune to share the same fL with Sharon Stone, I was too shy to ever approach her, but upon departing the plane as I stood right behind her i had distinctively noticed that she was exactly my height, which is 5' 7.5" Although she has claimed on several occasions to be 5'9" (last time i checked on Oprah) I can assure you she is no taller than 5' 8". By the way in the Quick And The Dead, the casket maker was Woody Strode. John Ford's Sgt. Rutledge. Strode as 6-4 at his peak. I saw Sharon Stone leaving N.B.C. studios at 30 Rockerfeller Plaza in N.Y.C.. She had just taped a Martha Stewart Show. She was wearing a pair of low heeled boots. She appeared with the boots to be about 5-8. Still a whole lot of woman. She was shorter than me by an inch and a half.

Actually she appeared about 3 inches shorter than Stallone in his shower scene, and there is no way in the world Sly is 5' 11" barefoot.

She looks 5'6" - 5' 7" to me.

Not even the translators in the movies can come to a decision about stone's dimensions. In the englisch version of "the quick and the dead", the casket-maker says to Ellen (Stone) when she first appers in the town: "5.8, am i right? I'm always right". In the german version, he says: "1.70, hab ich recht? Ich hab immer recht" :)) I think that stone is just a little bit over 1.70, maximum 1.72 - compare her to Eric roberts or sly in "the specialist". She lies to us about her height as she lied to us about her MENSA-Membership.

I am not sure if Sharon Stone is 173 cm. I mean she looks shorter than 173 cm. I believe she is 5'5" because I am 173 cm and I look taller than her.

Sharon Stone is closer to 5'3". SHe's tiny, but deceptively tall looking because of her frame. Heels can do wonders. I'm about 5'5" and a 1/2 and people always think i'm close to 5'11" or 6'0" when I wear heels (I' don't have any 6-inch heels).

Yes, it's true in Diabolique she looks 6/7 cms taller than Isabelle Adjani, who is suposed to be 163 or 164. Sharon is meabe around 170.

Why is just about everyone so dang sure Ellen is at least 5'7? There's been proof she's closer to 5'5... 5'6 at the monst. I think Ellen is more like 5'5 1/2, and Sharon is 5'6 1/2. She really doesn't look 5'8. Let's not forget, 5'6-5'6 1/2 is technically above average for a female! She's definitely not short. But 5'8? Please.

She is at least 1,5 inches shorter than sylvester stallone in specialist. If syl. is 5'9 then she is 5'7.5, I think.

I'm backing up my claim about Stone's height from a film called "If These Walls Could Talk 2." In one photo, Stone clearly is taller than Degeneres by an inch and they both either were barefoot or were both wearing tennis shoes. She's slouching and is still taller than Ellen. In the other, she skies over 5'5 Ann Heche. In the last photograph, barefoot Stone is the same height as Degeneres who's in sneakers. I saw her in Prague. She is barely 5 feet tall and maybe 100 lbs because she is tiny but toned. The web says she is 5'7. More Hollywood lies. I was standing next to her with her 4 body guards. I am 5'4 and she was much shorter than me. Her guards and entourage were able to totally hide her with their normal heights as myself and others tried to take her picture. I wondered why they were so determined not to have her picture taken, she lies about her height and didn't want it exposed.

Thanks to Jeannine, Sharon said in Feb 2005 Allure magazine: "I'm 5ft 8.5. But sometimes, when I'm feeling really big, I say I'm 5ft 9.". To me, she might have lost a cm, or this was her height back in her 20's.
