Scott Glenn looked the full 6’ in The Silence of the Lambs. He played a nice part, and was encouraging and full of respect for Jodie Foster’s Clarice Starling. He made a sensible choice in selecting her for the stomach-churning task.

He’s currently 5’10.5”. I’m 5’10.25” and body doubled for him in 2018. With wardrobe boots he was probably just shy of the 6’ mark, but would often hunch over a bit as the other actors on set were all 5’8” and under. His lean frame reads very tall on camera though, exaggerating his apparent height.

Could Urban Cowboy be added in his list of roles? Since Urban Cowboy was shot in 1979 that could be a good angle to look at peak height. Scott looked very similar in height to a peak John Travolta.

this guy workout alot he have kept his height good. he sad in a interview he moslty did exercises with his own weight. that a good way to keep away from injuries

at peak he could have been 6 foot but i believe he was probably 3 -4 mm under it rather than over. today i dont believe he is taller than 181

Looks only a shade taller than the 5'10" Charlie Cox on Daredevil. I think Glenn's in the weak 5'11 range today, 179-180cm.

In this picture from 'Silverado,' Scott looks much shorter than 185 cm tall Kevin Costner.
He is at least 5 cm shorter than Kevin.

Rob, could you update his credits as follows? "American actor best known for roles in Apocalypse Now, The Keep, Personal Best, The Right Stuff, Backdraft, The Silence of the Lambs, Vertical Limit, Training Day, The Bourne Ultimatum and on TV in The Leftovers".

Interesting actor w/ an interesting career even though its somewhat sporadic, I think I read he has a reputation for being difficult. In The Leftovers can look more a flat 5'11" these days. However, don't know & impressed at how he maintains his wiry muscular physique to this day.

He had two inches easy on Lou Diamond Phillips in Extreme Justice. He was taller then Lou in every shot. Either Scott is taller, or Lou is shorter. You have them both listed as 5'11.5"

Glenn is about 6' , maybe slightly less. Very close to Travolta. But watch out, he is a real "tough guy". At least he thinks so.

Scott Glenn is slightly but clearly taller than 5'11" Alec Baldwin in "The Hunt for Red October" and shorter than Sean Connery. We saw Scott Glenn in "Training Day" (together with 6'0" Denzel Washington). He wasn´t an inch shorter than Denzel.
