I am only 5ft 2in, even though I wear heels in the show, so I have to try to not get masked by the pumps and be pouring the pint and be saying my lines - so it is a different thing altogether.

The one thing I'd change about myself is...
My height. I'm only 5ft 2ins. If I was taller it would stretch me out a bit, then I wouldn't have to keep dieting. On-screen and off I wear heels; even my flip-flops have got a bit of a heel to them. I took my shoes off at my Corrie co-star Shayne Ward's leaving party because I was dancing and actor Andy Whyment said to me, "You're so short. I'm not going to be scared of you any more."

I find Jenny’s relationship with stepdaughter, Daisy, so warm and loving. She’s like a big sister to Daisy, and always giving her sensible advice. It’s only right that Daisy has chosen her stepmum to give her away in her imminent wedding to Daniel.

🎅 As we have a special one-hour Christmas Coronation Street tonight, I for one will be having a thoroughly good look to see whether Jenny's stepdaughter, Daisy, played by Charlotte Jordan, is 5ft1 or 5ft3 - I've read both heights for the actress. She's gone up in my estimation, favouring brains over brawn and standing up at a public event for teacher Daniel when a bunch of kids sing a rude and stupid song about him.

When I was in hospital in February 2018, I would have discussions with one of the ladies in the same ward. We'd discuss music and TV programmes, which would mainly be the Soaps.
She was 9 years older than me, and the nearest in age, the other ladies being in their 70s and 80s, and we tended to share the same taste in music and TV shows. I thought about something she said after last week's tragic goings on in Coronation Street, and that's how horrific the present day Soap plots have become. Personally, the storylines of Classic Coronation Street, from the late 90s, are already heading that way. We'll soon be seeing that terrifying Richard Hillman story, but I will say one thing for today's standards and that's that there is always a warning before the particularly gruesome plots, and I for one, wouldn't allow any children in my care to watch them following such an announcement.
Poor Jenny has a good heart, and no one can blame her for her outbursts lately, her husband having drowned in order to save her life. It's comforting to see how people are rallying round her, including her husband's daughter, Carla, played by the beautiful Alison King.

I think Sally Ann's character, Jenny, comes over taller because of her confident, don't-mess-with-me attitude in Coronation Street. She's shown her true colours lately, supporting her sick husband regardless.

This girl's character, Jenny, has SOARED in my estimation. It's helped since they brought Classic Coronation Street to our screens, and I was able to see what a studious person she was, and now she is sticking by her sick, older, imprisoned husband.
Chatting to Rita Sullivan, who I read had a peak height of 5ft3, (played by Barbara Knox), Rita says, whilst the two are reminiscing, "There's a lot to be said for SOPPY!" Here here! 🐱👌

I didn't like the way Sally Ann's Jenny responded to husband Johnny's confession. It must have taken a lot of courage to own up like that, and all he was met with was a conversation as to how it would effect HER.
Not the nicest of responses.
It's hard sometimes to believe that she's so short. She sounds like a huge battle-axe! 😝

In the 1990 version of 'Coronation Street', we see Sally Ann with a flat mate who, in comparison, makes her look... eh, tall! I think this friend of hers must measure around 4ft10 or just over.
I still can't accept that Sally Ann is only just over 5ft1, so she gets 5ft2 from me again!

Sally Anne has aged extremely well. I can tell as she is in both the vintage and the current versions of 'Coronation Street', so I don't think she could have lost any height yet.
How she can be so supportive to her husband after all the disgraceful things he has said to her says a lot for her Soap character. And he nearly hit her, for Heaven's sake! 😝
