There's one thing I don't miss, though, and that's Jo's big hair. When I first went on the show, it was backcombed within an inch of its life.

I love big guys — big, athletic, natural builds. But being 5ft 1in, most guys seem heroic to me!
I really like being dinky, but I can never see at concerts, people talk to me like I'm a kid and I had to sit on a cushion to take my driving test. So it can have it's disadvantages. But I wouldn't want to change because I fit into Disney Store clothes. Being little means I do get overlooked.

I am drawn to golds, nudes and champagne tones but I find vibrant pinks and greens suit my dark colouring. I'm only 5ft 2in with size 3 feet - my friends call me "pocket rocket". So it works best if I emphasise my hourglass figure with fitted shapes. I like to wear pencil skirts and classic styles to hug my curves.

Regarding the previous comments, I think in the USA and UK men are average 5 inches taller than women, so a 5ft 1in woman would be the equivalent of a 5ft 6in man. The height percentile charts for those countries bear this out, and in some charts the average height difference between males and females is more like 5.5 inches. These charts from reputable medical organisations do not show any reduction in the average height difference between genders for individuals of shorter heights, as is suggested below so a 5ft 3in woman is in the equivalent height percentile as a 5ft 8in man, not a 5ft 7in man.

Also a 5'1 woman is not the equivalent of a 5'7 man. You have to understand that with shorter individuals and different racial groups the gap in height between women and men shrink (for example in Israel the average woman is measured as being only 2-3 inches shorter than their male counterparts).
All things being considered I'd say near 5'3 would be the female equal of a male's 5'7".
