I saw Rooney the other night in the film 'Carol', and she looked tiny next to Cate Blanchet! My boyfriend and I saw her in 'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' and were so impressed that I was down the shop the following day, buying my Jim a copy. I have one myself, of course, now!

Definitely one of those women who comes off as somewhat shorter than she really is. She's very thin with delicate features.

But looking at her next to actors like Daniel Craig, I think she's actually a fairly strong 5'3, possibly breaking 5'3.5 in the morning - noticeably taller than Kate and not all that far off average.

Can't see her being this low Arch, maybe 5ft 2 to 3. She would look a lot shorter next to the above pic with Craig if she was even accounting for the good 3 inches she getting out of her heels.

Looked nowhere near 5 ft 3 in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo!!! In flats she made Daniel Craig look a 6 ft er. I'd have guessed 5'1 range.

She doesnt look bigger than 5ft 3 at the 'Girl with the Dragon Tatoo' premier, you can't see her shoes but I would say she is in high heels, she comes up to Craigs mouth.

When I look at pictures of Rooney, I feel that she's taller than 5'3. Her vogue shoot made her look at least 5'5 (considering heels too IMO)

I am glad that she is short; at least they didn't pick a 6' Blond Amazon to play Lisbeth. I all of the books, the author talks about how petite--under five feet tall--and dark Lisbeth. I look forward to seeing what Rooney Mara does in the role. Maybe Larsson made is heroine tiny to play up her mental and emotional toughness? He shows that no matter how small you are (I am 5'1") you can be a survivor.
