American actor best remembered for roles in films such as Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Hickey & Boggs, Hannie Caulder and TV series I Spy and The Greatest American Hero. An article in 1959 mentioned Culp being
"73 inches off the ground" and in a 1960 article he mentioned in reference to actors like Jim Arness, Clint Eastwood and Eric Fleming:
"It kind of gives me pause, when I realise that at six-foot-one I'm the pygmy of the lot....Size gives a guy authority"

Yes, Rob, Aznavour is worthy of a 5'4" listing, matching his claim.

Rob, at around 6:45 below, I would say Aznavour passes for 5'4" near Culp. Would you agree?

He appears somewhere around that zone.

I would say pulp was 6'1" peak height. Plus i mostly saw him in 1970s films when men wore 2 inch heels, so that made him look taller. I thought he is about 6ft peak if he was wearing 2 inch cuban heels. But i didnt really see his foot wear. So its 6'1" from me, as he does look a big man!

The greatest man who ever lived! The wonderfulness of himself no matter how tall!

Looks at the very least 6'1 in the seventies. Appeared as a Columbo killer three times - second only to Patrick McGoohan, who appeared on four occasions. Perhaps this ought to be mentioned in the bio.

Most actors his size would say they were 6'2'' or more. A very strong 6'1'' into the seventies, Culp had a peculiar physique with low narrow shoulders and a awful lot of cranium above his eye level. Look at the top of his head relative to others' and he can easily surprise. Beside the six four and a half (I watched a program in eighties in which he said that is how tall he was) Christopher Lee in Hannie Caulder, a middle aged Culp looked a rock solid six one.
Culp is a man who aged faster than average and he was diminished in every way towards the end.

He looked a bit shorter on ELR, but he was obviously much older and lost some height. I could buy 6'1" at peak, he was probably around Ray Romano's height at peak.

6'0.75" for Culp and 6'0.5" for Cosby on I Spy. In one episode, "Weight of the World," Albert Salmi, whose CV has him at 6'2, looked noticeably taller than both. Next to taller actors, Culp did not look more than 6'1 in his prime.

In ELR he looks about 6' even, but he was around 70 in that so yeah 6'1" peak appears accurate.

Nah 6 ft 1 is about right, Marvin edged him out in The Great Scout.

Rob, how likely is 186cm?

would need to really look in more detail at a guy like Culp to tell if he fell into the solid 6ft 1 range.

Agree with the 6' 1" for Culp. Same height as Cosby in "I Spy". He was no taller than Pernell Roberts in a "Bonanza" episode. Roberts was no more than 6' 1" peak.

Thanks, can you squeeze in The Pelican Brief and A Name of Evil? He looked about a foot taller than Natalie Wood.
I thought he looked near 6 ft 2 but I think you're right as there was a barefoot scene and he was briefly near Elliott Gould and he looked about an inch shorter. In other scenes he looked a similar height though but that barefoot scene I thought actually near 6'1.
