I think 5’11.25” is most suitable for Herd, at peak. He seemed slightly taller than Robert Wagner in the Hart to Hart episode “Cop Out” and gave a strong 5’11” presence in The China Syndrome. A flat 5’11” would be the lowest I would go for, for Herd’s peak height.

I thought it was Karl Malden, the first time I saw Richard. Even once I realized, I still often confused the two. I remember him first really for T.J. Hooker, which I think pre-dates "V". He was clearly taller than Shatner. What about Richard next to Scot Bakula in "Quantum Leap"?
As for Big Arnie? Tony Blair is 6ft, George W. Bush was almost as tall as Blair, and Schwarzenneger was definitely taller than Bush! In contradiction to what I've said about Duane "Dog" Chapman, I've always thought that being well-built could make you look smaller than you are, as (ironically) could being thin with sloping shoulders. This would explain why Ted Danson sometimes seemed taller than Tom Selleck, even though the opposite is true.

Spot on. I met him several times and on each occasion he was my height.
