English actor, best remembered for playing Richard DeVere in TV series To the Manor Born and for films like The Bank Job, Blow Up, Lifting, The Steal and Colour me Kubrick.

Barry Foster was about five foot seven, with very bubbly white/blond hair, and I am six foot two, with dark hair and a moustache.
He also puts his casting in a number of suave roles on television down to his six foot two and a half inch height.
Because of my height whatever I put on people say I look rather suave in.

I remember seeing Peter in ‘Tales Of The Unexpected’.
He lived from the 16th October, 1936, until the 17th March, 2022, dying at age 85. 🕯

I never knew that Peter was quite as tall as THAT, but then I never watched ‘To The Manor Born’. I saw him in other things though; my Mum watched the aforementioned programme sometimes. I suppose acting with tall actress Penelope Keith hid that he was as lengthy as he was!
Shame to see that he is no longer with us.

He always looks a mile taller than everyone else ! Agents don't like to list their actors as being above 6ft 2ins ,otherwise they're going to 'dwarf ' everyone else . He is certainly 6ft 3ins maybe a touch taller , he has probably shrunk a bit now though !

Could look a strong 6ft2 at times. Weird though, he described James Villiers as being "very tall" as if to imply he was much much taller than him even though it was only 2in.

I was close to Peter Bowles in a shop some years ago. I was surprised how tall he was and thinner than he seemed on TV. Definitely no less than 6'2".

I saw Peter Bowles this summer in London starring in Noel Coward's "Hay Fever" opposite Dame Judi Dench . He's a fabolous actor , I think he could have deserved better roles on the big screen . And he's definitely a tall guy , 6'2 sounds right.

I think he's closer to 6'3''. He is a genuinely tall man. I seem to remember reading that when he was a young actor his height stopped him getting parts.

Editor Rob had a quick look and seen he lists himself 6ft 2 on his resume, so give him that...penelope keith is herself rather tall back in that sitcom
