She was tall for her day and age for sure but didn't look tall in The Day the Earth Stood Still with a tall male cast. Never more than a strong 5'7" out of heels.

Ten months after I wrote my first comment, I thought it might be nice to add the words she left with her beloved friends and family when she was so bravely dying:

"Remember me with smiles and laughter
For that's how I'll remember you all;
If you can only remember me with tears
Then please don't remember me at all."

She insists that they all go for a picnic and play games and have a lovely day when she says this. Who could say no to that, her dying request? 🌈💐💎

I saw Patricia in an episode of 'The Little House on the Prairie', playing a brave terminally ill woman looking for a loving home for her three children.
The children go on to really influence the stories; they end up with Mr Edwards who marries his ladyfriend, as was considered 'decent' in the 19th Century!
I didn't pick up on Patricia's height in this, perhaps because Karen Grassle is herself quite tall at 168cm. Mind you, the two ladies were definitely able to look each other in the face! It would seem that the only small females in that series are the ones who aren't fully grown yet. When Laura has grown up, her 5ft4 looks positively tiny compared to the other women! Not very realistic for its time, is it?

5'7" I think is the a better fit than 5'8.5", which could be a shoed/low heeled height...it's possible that she was somewhere in between as well, since I could see her as a strong 5'7".

Had no idea that she could have been close to this. I thought she was only average height from The Day the Earth Stood Still but I guess was just being towered by a 6'4" lead, Michael Rennie, and, of course, Gort.

Even when younger, she seemed to have earthy, mature kind of attractiveness to her.

She looked tall next John Wayne or Gary Cooper, above the 1`70 mark. And she also looked tall next her husband for years, the great Roald Dahl, who was also above 1`90. Tall lady in any case

She looked tall but I`m not sure if she was that tall. She looked at least 5`7. She looked tall next to Gary Cooper. We will have to wait for Frank2`s comments

I can buy this as her peak height. In the movie Hasty Heart she stands alongside Ronald Reagan wearing 2 inch heels. Reagan, who was 6' or slightly more at the time, is a couple of inches taller than her.
