How tall was Nino Manfredi

At 24 minutes Nino and the gloriously beautiful 5'4 Senta Berger are presumably barefoot together on a boat. Click Here At 17 minutes she's in heels and him barefoot, I caught a glimpse and would say 2-2.5 inch. Nino is a few inches taller. I also saw a film with him and Adolfi Celi the other day and he was quite a bit shorter than Adolfi. I think he might have worn lifts at times, 5 ft 8 range is possible.

I think Volonte wore lifts in the Dollars films to look more imposing. Van Cleef looks taller than he did in earlier films in it too.

You could argue 5'8.5 I think but at times he also look 5'9.5 too, so on average around 5 ft 9. Some of these Italian actors might have worn lifts at various times, they can look taller in some films than others!

I'm italian. I saw Nino in many movies and tv shows. 5' 9 is the right height.

Arch, Volonte looks no less than 6'1 with Clint (if Clint really was near 6'4) and can even look 6'2 with him! With Nino he looks weak 5'11 range, if Nino was only 5'9! Something doesn't match, still Rob has Gian at 6' and Nino at 5'9 but if someone asks him how tall he looks with a 5'6 girl and this girl is barely around his chin he will say that's 8 inches...

I still think Volonte generally looks more mid 5 ft 11 range, but he can oddly look near 6 ft 1 in a few films. I think he wore lifts at times, including in his scenes with Clint.

Thanks, Rob. With Gian now at 6', it does make sense! :) Textbook example of 3.5 inches difference (considering Gian probably had half an inch more shoes there)! I guess Jared can look 6'7 with Levi, then...

Maybe Nino is more 5'9.5 and Gian 5'11.5? Actually, that shot doesn't surprise me at all, i always said Gian didn't look much above average (which was certainly smaller than now)! Sorry, but there is no way there are more than 2 inches between them and remember Arch said Gian had even more heels! Actually, there is more difference between Zach and Jared: Click Here
Of course, they're listed only 0.75 inches apart... Mysteries of celebheights...

Rob, how do you explain it? You still have Gian at 6'0.5, but that's not even close to how a 5'9 guy would look next to a 6'0.5! Considerinf Arch said Gian even had more footwear, that would make Gian between 5'10-5'11!!! So or you upgrade Nino to 5'10.5-5'11 or you downgrade Gian considerably!!!

@Andrea, I think Gian is more 5 ft 11 range. As you say a couple of inches only between them. Volonte has looked as low as 5'11 flat with some others too. I think 5'11.5 would be nearer and just assume he had on footwear advantage in the Dollars films to not look small with Clint.

Sorry, but i see a couple inches at most between them (and i actually "took" the part where Gian is standing at his tallest)... Also, you said that Gian is wearing bigger shoes! 5'10-5'11 is what Gian generally looked next to other people, i mean, as i said when Rob firstly put him here, he didn't look much above average to me in that Citizen... movie. I guess a 6'0.5 would have looked pretty tall in those years, to me he didn't! But again, after seeing him in movies with Clint, he can look 6'1-6'1.5 with him, if he really was 6'4!

At times Manfredi could look strong 5'9 range, others, more strong 5'8" range. I think around 5 ft 9 is the best shout.

Cheers Rob, much appreciated. One of the most beloved comic actors I think. Anybody familiar with Italian cinema would consider him one of the great legends, comparable to Jack Lemmon or somebody. Can you move We All Loved Each Other So Much to second, and squeeze in The Last Judgement (Jack Palance was in that) A cavallo della tigre, Between Miracles and Portrait of a Woman, Nude. (the last one is one title)

I've been studying this guy in a load of different films. My first impression was 5 ft 8 range but the more I saw of him the more he looked a decent 5'9. You can see with Gian Maria Volonte in A Cavallo in particular that he was around this as well as in photos with 6'1.5-6'2 Gassman.

Arch, is Manfredi the guy on the right, in the video you posted on the Request page with Gian Maria Volonte? If yes, he actually looks just a bit shorter than Gian, he looks closer to 5'11... And considering that Gian could look 6'1-6'1.5 if Clint was really near 6'4...
