Rory, 6ft2 flat is fine also but it's the lowest I'd argue for Green and the absolute highest I'd argue for Caine.
A bit of change on to this wouldn't hurt is all I'm saying judging how he's appeared with the likes of Caine, Roger Moore and George Peppard. But you are right, guy had excellent military-like posture which certainly helped.
HO
Brilliant actor - better than Caine, IMO. Played these really stoic, stiff-upper lip characters but those could radiate so much with those eyes. Good looking man as well
Rory said on 15/Sep/23
I think this guy had pretty strong posture(better than Caine's) so maybe that's why he might give the illusion of 6ft2+ but I think overall 6ft2 flat suits him. Caine I think 6ft1.75 suits him perfectly,1.5 always seemed a bit stingy to me..he was noticeably taller than solid 6ft1 guys like Roger Moore,Charles Gray, karl Malden and Michael Lonsdale so I'm not really buying him at just 1.5 unless we're talking absolute lows.

I do not know if I would go over 6’2” for Green. There is of course a greater possibility of over than under that mark, but 6’5” Rock Hudson looked roughly three inches taller than Green in Tobruk, Green was merely two inches taller than Nigel Davenport, and Green gave a 6’2” impression on Clochemerle.
Green did have at least half an inch on Caine however. Caine peaked at 6’1.5” in my view; Sidney Poitier had over an inch on him in The Wilby Conspiracy.
Arch Stanton said on 3/Sep/23
I think I had him at 6'2.5 until I saw him with Charlton Heston in Khartoum. I can't remember thinking he was nearer 6'1 with what I said in the first comment. And Connery clearly had the edge on Caine.

Ah here we go Rob!
I was wondering if Nigel had acted with Roger Moore in anything and turns out one of the last things he did was an episode of The Persuaders! This aired in January 1972, 5 months before he died...

Between the 10:30-12:00 mark you'll see that scene. Both hold good posture...Nigel raises his chin up a little I notice but overall I see a good inch in Nigel's favour
Editor Rob
Yeah he could be a candidate for stronger 6ft 2 range.
5'7 and a fraction said on 12/Oct/22
Michael Caine 6' 1/2 and Sean Connery 6'1 is a joke.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 10/Oct/22
@stiggles: Those are well off.
Green definitely edged out Caine but so did Connery. Might put better odds on Nigel being nearer 6ft2½ while keep Connery at a solid 6ft2 (still think a nibble over is arguable). Caine was a weak 6ft2.
stiggles said on 8/Oct/22
Green 6ft 1.5
Connery 6ft 1
Caine 6ft.05
but like most actors back then & nowdays .. they claimed an inch or two taller.
Sinclair said on 12/Sep/22
Rob, would you consider 6’2.25” for Green?
Editor Rob
There's a few commenters who share that sentiment.
Sinclair said on 13/Jul/22
I do doubt that Green was under 6’2” or over 6’2.5”.
Sinclair said on 3/Jun/22
A very modest 6’2”. Like George H.W. Bush, more likely 6’2.5” than 6’2”.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 19/Feb/22
Rory, it'd be the lowest I'd argue...Looked 6ft3 with Caine
Rory said on 15/Sep/21
Looked 6ft2 flat next to 5ft11.5 Patrick Macnee in the avengers.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 22/May/21
187cm for this guy puts Caine at 185cm tops
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 12/May/21
I'm gonna retract my previous estimate of 187cm. This dude was minimum 6ft2, if not closer to 6ft2½. Taller than Caine in Zulu and The Ipcress File. He had an imposing presence which many could mistake for 6ft4. Extremely underrated actor who left us way to early...classic old-school English alpha who just owns it when he appears onscreen...played a real badass in Jason and The Argonauts. Wish he had hung around longer

Rob, is a bit over 6ft2 a possibility for big Nigel?
Editor Rob
I suppose that figure of just over 6ft 2 could be argued.
Jug said on 10/Apr/21
He was clearly taller than Michael Caine in IPCRESS. Caine could have been a weak 6'2 at peak but I think he was the full 6'2. I would give Green 6'3 for a peak. He was described as 6'4 in some places. He had the build and chiseled face of a big man.
stiggles said on 10/Mar/21
He definitely wasn't over 6ft 2.. maybe 6ft 1.5 as he seemed to have an inch on Michael Caine..
Sinclair said on 17/Aug/20
I consider Green to have been at least a solid 6’2” maybe even a weak 6’3”. I thought Green was taller than both Michael Caine in The Ipcress File and 6’2” listed Glynn Edwards in Zulu. However, I believe Rock Hudson was not much over 6’4” by the time of Tobruk and he still looked approximately two inches taller than Green. There was also not a significant height difference between Green and Patrick McGoohan in a Danger Man episode and the same can be said between Green and Roger Moore in an episode of The Persuaders! I’d therefore vote 6’2.25” for Green.
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 19/Jun/20
Described 6ft4 in other places!
Caldoni said on 22/Sep/19
2.5 shorter than rock Hudson. 6-1.5 imo
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 13/Feb/18
187-188cm zone similar to Caine....
newbie said on 9/Jan/18
Just watching the ipcress file and him and Caine look similar, 6'2 would be a good call on him
James said on 18/May/17
Nigel Green was 6'1".
Rampage(-_-_-)Clover said on 25/Oct/16
Rob, could he have been a little under this?
Editor Rob
always a chance
Shadow2 said on 8/Apr/15
Green did an episode of Patrick McGoohan's TV series "Secret Agent" (aka "Danger Man") and he was very close in height to McGoohan. In "Tobruk" with 6' 5" Rock Hudson, Green was about three inches shorter than Hudson. 6' 2" seems quite right for Green.
Arch Stanton said on 7/Apr/15
No he wasn't. In some scenes he could look a tad taller, in others Caine could look to have the edge. They were about the same height.
jtm said on 7/Apr/15
connery was taller than caine in The Man Who Would be King. one of the reasons why i don't think caine was 6'2.
Arch Stanton said on 6/Apr/15
So Connery was also 6'1" then Jtm? Connery and Caine looked the same height more or less in The Man Who Would be King.
jtm said on 5/Apr/15
6'1 tops and so was caine.
Arch Stanton said on 4/Apr/15
It might have been the other way around then. Been a while since I've seen them. I must have been confusing him with Richard Johnson with Charlton Heston.
Sam said on 3/Apr/15
I recall he was very even height with Michael Caine in Zulu.
qartt said on 3/Apr/15
He was taller than Michael Caine in the Icpress files, are you sure he is not taller?
Arch Stanton said on 2/Apr/15
Can you also add Countess Dracula and The Wrecking Crew? Play Dirty was another one he did with Caine which I need to watch.
Arch Stanton said on 2/Apr/15
Thanks, can you squeeze in Khartoum? Are you sure on 6'2"? I thought Heston had him by about 1.5 inches in Khartoum. I'd have gone for 6'1" myself. I vaguely remember him at the end of the Ipcress File with Michael Caine and I thought Caine edged him out. I might be wrong on both but he is one I took note of in a few films and always thought 6'1" for him.
Editor Rob
not sure if he was just 6ft 1.
