Colin Murray is in dictionary corner in this week's Countdown, and he just came up with a word, saying to Nick, "It's not very nice actually - faeces!"

Nick said, "Good word!"

In today's Countdown, Susie's Origins of Words slot was all about words for the toilet.

At the end, Nick added one of his own. It was 'thunderbox', thereafter adding that a lavatory might become one after someone's been having a hearty pig-out on curries.

I'd never heard the term myself, and judging by Rachel's face, neither had she!

Oh yes, Nick's face remained just as serious as could be expected under the circumstances, which was a vivid contrast to mine....😆

@ Sandy Cowell - Absolutely! It's great that the comments keep coming on this page and my mention of a comment on Nick heading a "Latest Comments Page" on 11th April 2019 is a permanent reminder that this indeed was the case! Hopefully Nick will visit his page and find out that he has been very much centre stage on celebheights recently, by being given a page on celebheights just under a week ago and by being top of the "Latest Comments Page" three days ago! I'm about to submit the eleventh comment on his page soon!

It's very interesting that you found out about Nick Hewer's official height by Googling him, I Googled him within the last few years and I couldn't find out anything whatsoever about his height! Well spotted!

Nick Hewer has contributed so much to British television over the years that he really does belong here. It's never easy to see him standing up on Countdown because the only person we see regularly like that - and rarely ever sitting down - is lovely maths whizz Rachel Riley. Even when we do get to observe Nick and the delightfully ageless lexographer Susie Dent standing tall is when the winner of the entire series receives his or her award, and it's hardly reliable because Rachel and Susie, both tall girls in their own right, (5ft7 per lady), unfailingly wear sky high heels! So therefore, when it comes to guessing Nick's height, we've been pretty much flummoxed!

I found that he is officially 5ft8, which I have no doubt was his youthful day's low, but as everybody either knows or will find out, height dwindles as we get older, so 5ft7 for Nick's current height seems to me to be an extremely fair guess, but when he gets up in the morning, he'll be around half-an-inch more, bien sur!* 😁👍

Thanks Rob, it's great to find out how tall he is and I am also pleased to find out what his peak height was!

I did think that he was probably about 5'7" these days!
