Nik's a 171cm man, and he feels the same way. And being nearly 2m isn't all peaches and cream either. I've experienced ridicule and negativity at my height at some point, believe it or not. Whether I'm 8 foot or 4 foot, my belief about superiority remains. Nothing wrong with having a preference or an ideal, but one shouldn't disrespect or belittle someone merely because of height. That was my point.
Yharnamman said on 10/Dec/20
@Christian 6'5 3/8" "But like you implied, no height makes someone superior as a person over another." That means a lot coming from someone whos almost 2 meters tall.
Is she a dwarf? Well its kinda the same as a Western male whos 6'1", you are technically considered tall but at the very bottom of the range.
So she is technically considered a dwarf but at the very top of the range. A tall dwarf.
One more example would be a Western male whos 5'7.5". You are short but at the very top of the range.

Someone like Rosas just doesn't fit the mold of what a "dwarf" is IMO, just based on her height and proportions. Similar to you, I think of a typical dwarf as somewhere around the 4 feet range with exaggerated proportions. (such as a huge head, long torso and short limbs) But like you implied, no height makes someone superior as a person over another.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 4/Dec/20
@Michael
The lines are very blurred. There's no cut off height to officially determine if a person has dwarfism or not. Some people are just naturally super short.
Yharnamman said on 3/Dec/20
Rob do you believe she is 93 lbs? I was looking at images of her, shes never really thin, likely in the 26-28% body fat range. But again I don't know how much a 4'9" lady should weigh.
Editor Rob
if I were to guess, 100 pounds, but it is harder to guess weight.
Nik J Ashton said on 3/Dec/20
@ Christian 6'5 3/8" - At least then we would have a realistic figure for all genders, I have to be honest though and say that through my life I have always considered dwarfs of all genders to be about 4'0" - 4'3" at maximum. There is nothing better or worse about any height unless it causes medical harm to someone. I know you think this.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 2/Dec/20
@khaled
True, countries need to be taken into consideration as well. If 4'10" is short enough for dwarfism for women, than that means almost half of all Guatemalan women are dwarves, since their average is nearly short as 4'10".
khaled taban 5ft9 said on 1/Dec/20
@Christian 6'5 3/8" , Dwarfism can be considered as a medical condition , so I doubt it has much to do with the average height.
I mean you said the average woman height is 5'4", but that's the US average and it varies from country to country.
In some countries the average height for females is 5'1" which means around 25% of women in these countries have dwarfism , that seems illogical to me !

Yeah, Iβm not trying to assign a value judgment to anything... I just wanted to know if it was true or not.
If anything, I agree with Christian. If 4β10 is the cutoff, then Gabby Douglas, Snooki, Shawn Johnson and Zelina Vega qualify as βdwarves.β Seems a bit extreme to me, not to mention a tad ableist.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 30/Nov/20
@Leesheff
No logical explanation for that though. Like I said, men on average are taller than women, so they should be held to a different standard from each other. Same reason why society considers a 5'4" man short but a 5'4" woman average.
Leesheff85 said on 29/Nov/20
No christian dwarfism should be classified the same for both men and woman. Under 4ft 10 is considered dwarfism for both sexes.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 29/Nov/20
@Nik
I just think that it's not fair, when women on average are obviously much shorter than men. Tht's like considering a 5'3" man (equivalent of a 4'10" woman) as a medical dwarf, which is dumb. Maybe the health industry can go with the median between 4'10" and 4'5", for 4'7.5" as the limit for dwarfism, to be more fair to both genders, IDK.
Nik Ashton said on 29/Nov/20
@ Christian 6'5 3/8" - You are exceptionally tall but I know that you donβt think any better or any worse of anyone (all genders) however tall or short they are, I think like this too. I know that you treat people (all genders) of all heights in exactly the same way, I do too.
I agree with everything you said but it is debatable whether a man of 4β10β is a dwarf although he could be right at the top end of the dwarf range.
Misty certainly pulls off looking at least 4β9β.
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 28/Nov/20
@Michael
The 4'10" and under criterion should only be applied to men IMO. Maybe 4'5" and under for women.
Nik Ashton said on 28/Nov/20
She looks great!
Michael187BarefootInTheMornimg said on 27/Nov/20
Is she a legal dwarf, by definition?
I read that any adult 4β10 and under is a βdwarfβ regardless of any underlying health conditions. Is that really true?

@Rob how tall is the guy next to her? 5ft 6-7?
Editor Rob
she has a good 2 inches more footwear and he's a head and change taller there, so I wouldn't have thought less than 5ft 8
