In the book Great Acting, he mentioned his height: "Because of my size, 6 feet 2 ½ inches"

I'm not going to second guess the guy's own words, but he could easily be taken for 6’3” plus in movies and stills with other well known Brit actors, he often appears huge in comparison to them.

He looked very tall in The lady vanishes. Taller than Paul Lukas, who was a tall man. 1`89 sounds accurate for him

Haha see 1 hr 37-8 of that link, look who turned up (again), Felix Aylmer. The voice is immediately recognisable even if he has hair there!

He could look a solid 6'3" guy granted. I was watching him walk in The Dam Busters and he was looking easily 6 ft 3. i can imagine him getting measured in his bare feet at 6'2.5 though, but I'd lean more on weak 6'3" than 6'2".
