Rob in my opinion Jordan is taller than Barkley you have Barkley taller than Jordan, you listed Jordan at 6’4 3/4” and Barkley at 6’4 7/8”. My listing in my opinion Barkley 6’4 1/2” 6’4 5/8” and Jordan at maybe 6’4 7/8”

I think if Rob is going to be consistent, 6’4 3/4 for Jordan since he measured it at the Olympics and 6’4 5/8” for Barkley since he measured it

@Berta: I got a taller impression from Kobe than Jordan. I’d have give Jordan the measurement from when he was drafted 6’4.5”. 6’4.75 is likely a bit earlier in the day

Editor Rob
maybe a small fraction lost, but really I don't think he's much less than peak today.
Canson said on 31/Jan/21
@Fried Chicken: not to mention, Jordan wears an orthotic. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s only 1/2” between them with Jordan at 6’4.5. I use afternoon heights which in Jordan’s case, 6’4.5 would be his. So 6’5.25 out of bed. I don’t rule out a hair over that but I still think 6’4.75 for his afternoon is too high. But lunchtime is very possible if 6’4 5/8 was his afternoon instead
FriedChicken said on 11/Jan/21
2chainz is most likely a flat 6'4 than 6'4 1/4.
Canson said on 10/Jan/21
Means 2Chainz isn’t as tall as he listed being Jordan was only measured at 6’4.75 and even 6’4.5 and 6’4 7/8 (allegedly). He’s never received a 6’5 measurement on record

@Rising: how tall would you say Marcus Camby was/is? I would’ve guessed 6’10” but he really does look 6’11” next to Kenyon Martin. I’m thinking Martin may have only been 6’8 or so. He said once when they asked how tall he was in high school or college (I’ll find the interview) he said “6’8, about the same as I am now”. I heard it recently in an interview as a matter of fact. I’ll find it on YouTube. Camby is favored with KMArt though so he looks to have more height on him than he really does. Maybe 6’10.5 worst case for Camby?

Canson said on 2/Jan/21
@Rising: yea with Jordan, it’s hard to tell who is taller in the video which leads me to believe Spree is likely in the 6’4 range. He looked long next to him. I’d definitely give him 193 minimum and that’s prob fair with how he stacks up with 6’4.75 Allan Houston. He also claimed 6’4 but he could be a hair over. Maybe best case 6’4.25 but I’d go 6’4”-6’4 1/8 like a peak Liam Neeson. I would have Houston at Kobe’s height and Jordan just a touch shorter than them. I could believe 6’4.75 measurement for Jordan but I wouldn’t say it’s a low but maybe close to one? I could see 6’4 5/8 being the low if not 6’4.5”. I think Rob’s listing for him is much better at 6’4.75” than 5”. I’d like to see Sprewell added

Canson said on 31/Dec/20
@Rising: yea I remember saying you met Spree. I would’ve said a legit 6’4” just by looking at him. I would’ve probably said something like:

6’4.75 out of bed 6’4 flat afternoon

Or

6’4 7/8 out of bed 6’4 1/8 afternoon
Rising174cm said on 30/Dec/20
Sprewell looked 6'4"+ to me in person towards the end of his time with the Knicks. I couldn't tell you if he was just a really solid 6'4" or closer to 6'4.5", but I will say he looked to tall to drop under 6'4".

Possible the picture was disadvantage of tilt down from the 7'2 guy angle and look at 7'0 Shaq head is much closer to the camera. I have check on this 7'2 guy IG also first thought of him lie several inches but figure out he was over 7'1 but how much i am not sure maybe just 7'1 1/2 round up 7'2, def not a full 7'2 as he claim but maybe it's a morning measurement he hit it.
Canson said on 24/Dec/20
@Editor Rob: I would say his measurement at the olympics could be one 2-3 hours out of bed. If not he’s a guy who would fall to 6’4 5/8 perhaps
Canson said on 23/Dec/20
@Editor Rob: what would you say?

A) 196.5-197 out of bed 194.5-195 afternoon
B) 196-196.5 out of bed 194-194.5 afternoon
C) 197.5 out of bed 195 afternoon

I’d say B where he falls to 194.3 in the afternoon and is 196.2 out of bed with a chance at low ends of A 196.5/194.5ish

@Vincent: I agree. maybe in Kobe’s case 6’4.8 (195-195.1) and Jordan 194.3ish which is why we could see the small difference. His wife may have rounded down a tad. Jordan at his peak I don’t rule out 6’4.5-.75 either. I would say he was right around the middle of the range 194.5-.6 versus falling to 194.9-195. At the latter stage he would’ve looked 6’5 almost exclusively like Kobe did where Jordan looked 6’4 on occasion more so than Kobe

It wasn't THAT long ago where the passenger could drink alcohol in a car.

I remember as a toddler my dad drinking a beer driving up the interstate. If he was pulled over he would have just handed it to my mom. It would have been legal
Canson said on 8/Dec/20
@Junior: the only issue with 6’4.75 for Jordan is what you said about Kobe being taller or at least looking taller. Otherwise, no issue being that is closer to his actual listing than he initially was. I could buy his low being about 6’4 5/8 peak but not any higher. Barkley may also be that but not higher. Today I would say Barkley is not that height anymore and that he’s my height
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 7/Dec/20
@Sandy
That's just the way it is though. Same thing as a 20 year and 364 day old person not being able to legally buy or drink alcohol, while a 21 year old can. We can call it unfair all we want, but the law is always definite and precise.
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 7/Dec/20
The 1/4 downgrade on MJ do Kobe Bryant a justice. Like my older estimate that MJ is 6'4 3/4 or worst low 6'4 1/2 not sure if he is lower now. Charles Barkley i atually think his worst low was 6'4 5/8 as the Olympic described him. Kobe is def the tallest among three of them.
Canson said on 7/Dec/20
@Ly: they’d likely be similar in height. Jordan has a 6’4.5 measurement on record too and Barkley had 6’4 5/8”. It could even be the opposite that Jordan is taller but the difference Barkley is suggesting “Jordan being 6’6” is non existent
Ly said on 7/Dec/20
so charles barkley is ever so slightly taller than jordan despite him saying that jordan was taller than him

Canson said on 4/Dec/20
@Mr T Black: all In all, I think this is a better listing for him. I don’t rule out this as an afternoon height but I still lean toward 6’4.5. Maybe 6’4 5/8 which would mean he’d still be 6’4,75 at lunch like Rob mentioned if he measures 5/8 in the afternoon. Even if not as low as half I would guess Jordan falling closer to 6’4.5 than 6’5 in the afternoon
Canson said on 4/Dec/20
@Mr T Black: I could see them rounding up to 6’5 or just keeping it at 6’4 7/8” before rounding down.

@Editor Rob: I could see a 9-10 am measurement. If he woke up to say 6’5.25 and dipped to 6’4.75 after 2 or 3 hours
Canson said on 3/Dec/20
@Fried Chicken: or was a measurement in college.
MrTBlack said on 3/Dec/20
@Canson

They may have rounded down to .75” instead of stating 7/8ths. At that minute unit of measurement, they could go to 6’5” or 6’4 3/4”.
Canson said on 2/Dec/20
@Editor Rob: do you think he dips below this figure in the afternoon (other than at an extreme low) or do you see that as a normal afternoon height equivalent to your listing?
Editor Rob
I would be surprised if it were 9-10am measurement, I could see him around this mark at lunch quite easily.
FriedChicken said on 2/Dec/20
The 7/8 thing was confirmed a rumor because he was measured 3/4 instead.
Canson said on 2/Dec/20
@MrTblack: I’m wondering if the 7/8 was his measurement at UNC
MrTBlack said on 2/Dec/20
Wait, wasn’t he measured at 6’4 7/8ths at Barcelona Olympics?
Editor Rob
at the time of the Olympics, the media had access to the Olympic database with info on atheletes. A journalist mentioned he brought up Jordan's file and was 6ft 4.75
Canson said on 29/Nov/20
@Vincent: when he’s putting the medal on him, I would say 6’4.5 still.
Vincent Caleb said on 27/Nov/20
Maybe 4.75 is better for Jordan than 4.5. At the time it is a good start. Jordan did hold up well with Obama. I still think Kobe has the edge.
Canson said on 25/Nov/20
@Fried Chicken: Riley may have been talking about a pre draft measurement or a measurement at UNC. Roy Williams mentioned that he was 6’4.5” one year and grew to 6’6” then next. I think in shoes obviously and he didn’t look as if he actually grew that much when he was at UNC. If anything I believe him being 6’4” when he was in his freshman or sophomore year or possibly he was even a hair under and he may have grown to 6’4.5 (afternoon height) by the time he left. I don’t rule out something like 6’4 5/8” but he never looked like he was that close to 6’5 as he measured (6’4.75). That looks like a measurement earlier in the day. He doesn’t give the impression of Tiny Lister, Dan Snow or one of those other guys who actually measures 6’5” in the afternoon
Canson said on 24/Nov/20
@Fried Chicken: I’m not even convinced MJ has lost 1/4”. I think he’s always Been a 6’4.5” guy at the lowest so 6’5.25 out of bed. Maybe he’s a hair over the mark in his prime and a hair under half now or right at it today but he still looks similar to how he did in his prime. But his height is mostly in his legs. Barkley on the other hand may have lost a fraction. Barkley carries more weight and has had hip replacements. Tbh I don’t know what he would measure today. I would say not much taller than me today at 6’4.25 and if he is it’s 194 if not he could be as low as 6’4” flat today. The issue with Barkley is his footwear. He didn’t look anything more than 6’4” with Calais Campbell or with Clark Kellogg. Campbell measured 6’7.75 early morning and he’s easily (at least) 3” shorter and Kellogg has 3” on him. Then with Jonathan Ogden people used that in the past to prove Barkley was 6’6” here but Ogden isn’t 6’9” like he’s listed. His combine measurement was a flat 6’8” and that was likely a morning measurement. More 6’7.5” too. But Barkley with Ogden may have been 194 range still
FriedChicken said on 23/Nov/20
If he's lost anything i doubt it's really much notable. Maybe 1/4. He's holding up well in age compared to Barkley who most likely lost 3/8.
James B 172c, said on 22/Nov/20
Rob Jordan is in his late 50s

Maybe he has lost a cm and was the full 6’5 in his 20s?
Editor Rob
6ft 4.75 was the figure submitted to the Olympics in 1992. Unless he was undermeasured, then he came in at 6ft 4.75 in late 20's.
Canson said on 22/Nov/20
Here is Gervin with Jordan. I firmly believe 6’4.5 barefoot but 6’4.75 would be more of a measurement 2 or 3 hours after waking

Canson said on 22/Nov/20
@Fried Chicken: I still am of the same opinion of Vincent and Recapa: but yea shoe height and then some (maybe 1/4”).

But I do want to note. George Gervin was always listed 6’7” when he played although he has claimed 6’8. Fast forward to 5:40 and he is obviously 6’7” next to Magic. He isn’t taller than Magic.

Then Gervin with Jordan. To note, Gervin called MJ 6’4/6’5 just like Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing
FriedChicken said on 21/Nov/20
Him calling Jordan 6'6" was probably giving him a shoe height as well. I doubt Barkley's height perception is that off as there was very little between them.
FriedChicken said on 21/Nov/20
Yes Barkley said that Jordan is taller so he needs a revision. I also think Barkley needs a peak and current he isn't as tall as before as shown with Kelogg. Though I'm not sure how he realized a 1/8 difference in person. Maybe he saw Michael Jordans measurment and saw .75 and his own measurment was somewhere in the 6'4.65 - 68 ish.
Tunman said on 21/Nov/20
@Canson
Yeah, out of him and Kobe he could be the shorter one although Kobe's head is certainly helping that illusion. While I can see a chance for 194,5cm I have to agree with Friedchicken that Riley was likely referring to that 6'4.75 measurement, just to imply that Jordan was measured under 6'5 which is indeed the case,I mean except from Riley's words we don't have any other mention that he was measured at 6'4.5(which doesn't mean he can't be 6'4.5 or 6'4 5/8).Ultimately I feel he could have been very similar to someone like Barkley, whether a few mms over or under is a mystery that we may never solve.

I have to hand it to Rob (even though he doesn’t need a compliment but deserves it, being he’s as good as he is), He predicted in November that he would have a listing from the Olympics for him. Now Barkley needs the downgrade to 4 5/8”
Canson said on 21/Nov/20

oh so he,s been downgraded nice .6ft4.75 is a good beginning since he measured that tall but i,m still convinced that kobe was slightly taller : 6ft4.75 kobe,6ft4.5 jordan,6ft4 5/8 barkley.
Canson said on 20/Nov/20
@Vincent, Tunman, and Duhon: the reason I’ve always said 6’4.5 (aside from the Kobe pics) is based on how he looks relative to Larry Bird and to others when they meet him. A guy that measures as high as 6’4.75 would almost always get guessed at 6’5 or 6’6 whereas a lot of people have met Jordan and said he looked 6’4ish whereas some say 6’5ish. Of course some say 6’6” too but a 6’4.75 guy at an afternoon height would be close to or right at 6’5 for most of or all of the day. But this listing is a good first step
Canson said on 20/Nov/20
@Tunman: I think all things considered this one is ok. It’s not an early morning at least even if he comes down further. As for Melo, that’s pretty close. If he’s less it’s probably not much more than maybe 1/8” if even that. I actually buy his being a low. For Jordan, this is probably a fair compromise being he never measured 6’5 and only has the 3 I mentioned. I still believe he falls to 6’4.5 but that would be at an afternoon height meaning 6’5.25 out of bed. If lunch that would equate to 6’4 5/8 so that’s 1/8” more if the case. Unless Rob has a specific 6’4.5 measurement on record he wouldn’t go lower than this.
Vincent Caleb said on 20/Nov/20
There are a couple pictures of Kobe and Jordan in those suits, and in all of them they either look the same or Kobe edged him. Still think Jordan needs another downgrade
Tunman said on 20/Nov/20
Yeah 6'4.75 made sense indeed.
@Canson
While 6'4.5 isn't impossible I feel we have with Jordan a case where a guy was measured at his lowest, anyways clearly not in the morning, much like Carmelo Anthony whose listing here seems undisputable. At least it confirms what we long suspected, that he was measured just under 6'5.The question is:did Riley want to round Jordan's measurement down to 6'4.5 or was he truly measured at that mark?Idk,I feel the current mark is just the best compromise imo.
Duhon said on 19/Nov/20
@Vincent Again using the picture you posted, if Kobe has any edge in height at all which can't actually be seen, its from the maybe mm difference in Kobe's close cropped hair vs Jordan's totally bald head. Click Here
Canson said on 19/Nov/20
@Vincent: agreed! While I can see that measurement not quite being an afternoon height, it’s far better than 6’5”. The most I could conceivably see is 6’4 5/8 being his afternoon low but I think 6’4.5”. What’s odd is Barkley saying standing next to him he is taller lol. There are times when Jordan actually looks taller though but other times Barkley looks taller. IMHO with Kobe, I was able to see about 1/2” or maybe 1cm in the oic he had with Barkley but that’s likely Barkley after some height loss.
Realist said on 18/Nov/20

@Duhon:
If you look close enough at the picture MJ is getting edged dude. Also , you picked a different angle than my pic that was benefiting Jordan a little more than in mine. Go back to my picture and get a ruler, put it flat over your screen and you will see. C’mon man, it is pretty clear who had the edge. Also, no offense, but the second picture you got was just not very good. It was from a really low angle and looked a little closer to the left so it would be supporting Jordan more, while Kobe had bad posture and Jordan had good posture. The pic I posted they had a clearly good camera angle, no footwear differences, and pretty identical posture. Most pics from the court are not great for height comparisons. Anybody can post a bad picture and use it as evidence. See look-

Is Kobe 6’6” and Jordan 6’4”?
Now let’s look back at the original pic I posted-

Kobe is taller there also, but just barely.
In conclusion, there is quite enough evidence out there that points to Kobe being the taller of the two, but it really depends on which pictures you look at, and which pictures you WANT to look at. I am sure there are pictures you can find out there of MJ edging out 6’6” dudes, just like there is a pic of Yao edging out a 7’7” dude. Try to find the best pictures and evidence, and you will see who is the taller of the two.
FriedChicken said on 18/Nov/20
I guess the 6'4.88 Barcelona measurment was a rumor all along and he was actually measured 1/8 shorter at 6'4.75.

This is a great listing in my opinion.
Canson said on 18/Nov/20
Meant to say Kobe looks taller than Jordan imho. But it’s a marginal difference as Kobe can look the same or shorter at times. On balance, I think the 1/4” difference with Kobe being slightly taller is more likely. Rob reducing MJ to 6 4.75” at least corrects part of the problem
Vincent Caleb said on 18/Nov/20
@Canson:
I am loving this downgrade. I don’t think we are going to get 6’4.5”, but this is still very good. I’m glad Rob removed the quarter.
Canson said on 18/Nov/20
Editor Rob says

I mentioned it just over halfway through my video.

What was always interesting was that articles like NY Times mentioned Jordan was 6ft 4 for the Olympics...but they forgot to mention the fraction.

A journalist described how the media at 92 Olympics could look up the database with all the athlete information. So the guy mentions he looks up Jordan and his height is 6ft 4 and 3/4.

It's just a shame the journalist never mentioned any other heights stored!
Because this seems like an actual measurement by the team for their Roster, which was submitted to the Olympics.

therefore listing Jordan at 6ft 4.75 makes sense to me.

But I’ve always saying that all along as far as the 2” reduction not being accurate but Barkley’s being accurate at 6’4 5/8. I don’t think he and Jordan were 6’4 but I thought 6’4.5 to 6’5”. While 6’4.75 is more believable for him, I still don’t see it as a normal low for him. I see him measuring around 6’4.5 in the afternoon
Canson said on 18/Nov/20
Kobe looks marginally taller than Kobe imho. But Rob has reduced MJ to 6’4.75 so it puts them at the same height now

If 1/4” is all Rob would give for the downgrade, Kobe may need to be upgraded to 6’5 lol. But I’ve seen pics with Caron Butler and Kobe. Butler looks taller imho. I’ve met Butler and I could give him his pre draft listing or worst case maybe 196cm. He looked as good a 6’5 as I’ve seen. Surely not early morning whereas Kobe looks a weak 6’5 by comparison imho. I think if we go with Butler at 6’5.25, Kobe at 6’4.75, MJ would get 6’4.5” also being he measured that when he was drafted according to Pat Riley
Editor Rob
well since Jordan was indeed stored as 6ft 4.75 for the 92 Olympics, it is hard to argue against it...it would make sense then he was 6ft 6 in sneakers.

@Editor Rob: Where did you see the 6’4.75”? That’s believable for a measurement (at some point during the day). Kobe also received a 6’5.25 from FIBA at some point. I would say it’s not a low but I think it’s a lot better than 6’5” being he never measured that at any stage. Only 6’4.5 4.75 and 4 7/8”
Editor Rob

@Ricky84: look at someone like Caron Butler. 6’5.25 and received a 6’6.5 shoe measurement rounded to 6’7”. However his measurement is one of the ones that looks close to his afternoon height from having seen him in person. He certainly isn’t under 6’5” and my money is on him being over the mark than under being he looked close to an inch taller than me. Then you get someone like Jaylen Brown or DeMar Derozan who were measured the same and listed 6’7” prior to the 19-20 season. Both are now listed 6’6” but both of them are morning measurements. Brown looks max 6’5 and Derozan looks Kobe’s size

Canson said on 11/Nov/20
@Height328: Payton could be right. I would’ve thought 6’2.5 but I saw him on Hanging with Mr Cooper standing in front of Tim Hardaway and that didn’t look 4” to me. Hardaway was a barefoot 5’11 tops. As for Nash could be that or a hair under that 184 range. Agree on Jordan and Wade
Height238 said on 10/Nov/20
Jordan has never looked 6'6 to me, maybe around 6'4.5 is more accurate.
Gary Payton never looked 6'4, closer to 6'2.
Steve Nash never looked 6'3, maybe the 6'1 height on this site is more accurate.
Wade never looked 6'4 to me. Around 6'3 sounds more accurate.
Canson said on 4/Nov/20
@Ricky84: I think he’s 6’5.25 out of bed and 6’4.5 afternoon height. The most I could conceivably argue for his peak is 6’4 5/8” perhaps and 6’5 3/8” out of bed perhaps. I don’t rule out 1/8” more but I just don’t see it. He looks 6’4.5 with Larry Bird too. As for Scottie Pippen, I agree at times but I don’t know if Pippen was a true 6’7” either. Meaning he could’ve been weak. I saw pics of him when he played and he looked over 2” shorter than 6’9” Horace Grant.
Ricky84 said on 3/Nov/20
@Canson Yeah 6'3 for wade seems about Right maybe 1.91 that would make michael a 6'4.5 do you think michael stays at 6'5 most of the day? He only looks 2 inches shorter that 6'7 scottie back in the 90s

@Christian: I’ve seen a normal low but never extreme. A guy like Eric Gordon or Russell Westbrook being 6’2 or 6’2.25 would be a normal low imho. They were measured in 2008 and in the afternoon and don’t appear to be morning heights or heights after laying down. Derrick Rose and Kevin Love appear to be a bit lower than they measured but both may have had the benefit of laying down. Love looks 6’7” ish next to Chris Bosh. I’d go 6’7.25-.5 max and even though photoshopped he looks that with Rose and Noah. Another is OJ Mayo. I’m not sure where he fits but I know someone who’s met him and said he’s 6’3 max. He measured 6’3.25” so not sure what is accurate

@Tunman: it’s possible with Barkley’s weight but he wasn’t extremely heavy when he played. Probably 250-265 in his prime. What you said could be true like Christian said. If he were 6’4.75 afternoon his extreme could be 6’4.5 and could’ve been something he reached regularly. However my guess is 6’4 5/8 or 1/2 would be his afternoon and he dipped another 1/4” at an extreme since so many people who’ve met him or played with or against guessed him at 6’4”. I think we can agree at his peak that 6’4” flat was too low but I saw someone else who posted here years ago who said they played against him just in the gym. They claimed 6’5 and that he was 1/2” shorter. As for Ainge, yea I think maximum 6’4” flat in his prime and that Barkley was 1/2”-3/4” taller. Imho 6’4 5/8 for his peak since that was his Olympic measurement. As for Jordan I feel he’d be the same range. I think a legit 6’5 or strong 6’5 really would be Ron Harper. I could buy something like 6’5 to 6’5.5 as he always looked taller than Jordan and looked taller next to Rodman or Pippen

But if the standard here is a lunchtime measurement, I think Barkley’s previous measurement may be sufficient enough being like you said, he claimed that height and if 6’4 5/8 is actually his afternoon height, 6’4.75 would be his lunchtime. I feel 6’4 7/8 is too high and goes against anything anyone else who’s played with him has described him as. He’s typically guessed 6’4-6’5 (Mo Cheeks and Larry Bird and Michael Jordan) and 6’4 by Joe Klein and Moses Malone. He was also said to be 6’5.5 with shoes on before

Yeah, 6'4.75" for Barkley is possible if the 6'4 5/8" measurement was an extreme low, like you said. But very rarely (if ever) an athlete officially measure at their extreme low.
Canson said on 29/Oct/20
@Tunman: I wonder if Wade really measured that and if it was really morning. Melo looks around his draft height in person and Bosh looks his in pics. Lebron looks near enough meaning he could be 6’7” flat. Then a guy like Hinrich could look more 6’2.5 and then TJ Ford 5’10 not 5’11”. Some are just off. In Wade’s case I almost wonder if that’s his actual measurement and it was maybe one later in the morning a bit under 6’3.25 rounded up. I saw a pic with Harden and one with Beal and Wade looked smaller. Whereas Beal and Harden were morning measurements (2010) and (2009). It explicitly said it for 09 and 10 I’m assuming they wouldn’t have changed it. I wouldn’t necessarily give Jordan and Wade that at extreme lows but normal lows. I always estimate at afternoon height but not extreme lows. Like Rob for instance is 5’8 1/8” afternoon height. That’s his normal low but not extreme low as he said it’s 5’8” flat but he loses less than average whereas for me 6’4 flat would be mine which equates to 1” from my morning height of 6’5
FriedChicken said on 29/Oct/20

Tunman said on 29/Oct/20
@Canson
Those figures (190,5 and 194,5)are very possible for their extremes imo.Wade was measured 6'3.75 in the morning and claimed 6'3.25 which is quite honest, always a chance for 1/8 less.
@Christian
Barkley was measured at 6'4 5/8.But he certainly won't dip under that.Well in the pic with 6'4 Ainge he looked 3/4"taller than him,so 6'4.75 which is a mark he claimed at least once
Is it possible that
Jordan turns 6'4.75 with extreme low 6'4.5 and Barkley 6'4.75 and extreme low 6'4 5/8?Barkley's heavily built so maybe gets more easily closer to his extreme?Ultimately both could be listed just under 6'5
Christian 6'5 3/8" said on 28/Oct/20

6'4.75" for Jordan is definitely possible, but that's the highest I'd argue. Same goes for Barkley.

Canson said on 28/Oct/20
@Tunman: interesting comparison. It’s possible for 6’4.75. It could be the case where both guys are strong 6’4.5” meaning they measure 6’4.5-5/8 perhaps at a low or what we call a weak 6’5 here 6’4.5-.75
Canson said on 28/Oct/20
@Ricky84: Wade actually claimed 6’3.25” this year
Tunman said on 28/Oct/20
Well,6'4.75 or 6'4 7/8 is very likely,it's almost a certainty that he was measured just under 6'5 but the question is by how much?
Do we have a Tim Robbins case?Looking near enough to 6'5 and claiming (or at least Riley claimed for him) 6'4.5".He could have been between those 2 marks at 6'4.75.The 6'4 7/8" was maybe an evening measurement with only a further 1/8" left to lose.6'4.5 as an absolute lowest after a long training session?Very possible but that's the lowest arguable.

6ft 4.5, 4.75, 4 7/8ths or 6ft 5.25...I was never sure what it was.

@Editor Rob: id be shocked if he measured a full 6’5” afternoon height. I wouldn’t be shocked with 6’4.75 peak height but I would expect something in the 6’4.5-.7 range. ESP when people say that he has looked a bit under 6’5” or 6’4 and change. A 6’4.75 guy at a low wouldn’t look under 6’5 esp in a thick shoe. And it mentioned orthotics so looking 6’5 isn’t hard then or even in a 1.25” shoe for a 6-4.5 or 6’4.6 range guy

Then you get some like Jimmy Butler that got 1.75” from his alleged measurement. I’d have given Jordan something like 6’5.75” in shoes

@Canson would you agree MJ has a larger frame than Kobe? We know he had larger hands and I believe a larger wingspan too. His frame seemed fuller than Kobe's as well, when you compared them to their younger years before they got into weight training.

From the height of their head it's very close but I'd give the slight edge to MJ there as well.

I agree Duhon. MJ definitely had the larger frame especially in his later days when he played for the Wizards and even when he played in Chicago. Phil mentioned that once I remember that Jordan had a bigger body. But I have Kobe as slightly taller. It’s not much though. Maybe a small fraction. Especially seeing the video to that picture. But I will say that Kobe could’ve been 195-195.5 possibly and Jordan 194/195 range. So could be something like 6’4 5/8 vs 6’4 7/8 or 6’4.5 vs 6’4.75

He really needs to be downgraded 1/8” minimum being that (6’4 7/8) is the measurement of record although 6’4.5 is also believable. Rob was not listing celebs at 1/8” increments when he first listed Jordan back some 10 or 15 years ago
Canson said on 27/Jun/20
@Fried Chicken: I don’t think it was at the olympics. That was supposedly at UNC when he measured that. But yes 6’4 7/8 would be a better listing for him than 6’5” flat because he has that measurement on record (along with 6’4.5) but doesn’t have a 6’5 measurement anywhere to be found
FriedChicken said on 26/Jun/20
If he was meaaured 6'4.88 at the olympics age 29 wouldn't that be 6'4 7/8 or is it closer to a full 6'5 rounded up?

still very tall
Alex 6'3.25 said on 26/May/20
He's 194,5 or 195,5 cm at most, he never was a legit 196 cm.
Canson said on 25/May/20
@Viper: it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s a morning measurement for Pippen at say 6’7.1. Carter got the 6’6.75 in the morning too

@Christian: I wonder sometimes who’s taller or who was taller between the two meaning Barkley and Jordan
viper said on 25/May/20
Maryland's Robert Carter looked extremely similar to Pippen physically on the court and he measured 6-6.75

That 6-7.5 Pippen measurement I think was 6-7.25 rounded up

Maybe, but I can't see Jordan being any taller than him. I could see Kobe (RIP) edging both of them out though.

@Canson, I posted a comment in March and I just noticed your reply.

I give Jordan so little mainly due to his college measurements. When he still had hair in his younger days he looked to be a strong 6' 4.5", not small by any means, but also not very big on a basketball court.

I think you are about dead-on in your guesses for Rodman and Pippen. I would give a prime Pippen a little more than you, I think he may have brushed the 6' 7" mark but 6' 6 7/8" is also a real possibility. Rodman also wouldn't be caught dead without tall heeled shoes, so he's a bit of a wildcard.

I remember after the first or second Night of the Documentary, UNC head coach Roy Williams who was an assistant there at the time Jordan was there said he was 6’4.5 his freshman year and 6’6” now. Now I take that to be that Jordan either grew and was 6’5.5-6’6 range in his shoes yielding 6’4.5-.75 barefoot or even the 6’4 7/8 he got; or that Williams is exaggerating. I can tell he’s definitely not 6’6” especially when Reggie Miller has claimed to be under 6’6” before himself and he has said that Jordan is 6’4/6’5 range. In pics Jordan is at least an inch shorter than him
Chris Junior Hernandez 1990 said on 22/May/20

I mean I know a guy who's maybe like 0.75-1" smaller than me who claims to wear size 12 but looking at his feet could have sworn they weren't bigger than mine(I wear size 11 which is slightly big for the average man)

@Viper: I could buy Strawberry being more of a 196 range guy at times as opposed to 195.5. Jordan I’ve never imagined (outside of my childhood when I didn’t know better) being anything close to 6’6” barefoot. Lol I wanted to be 6’6” when I was younger but of course knowing what 6’6” really looks like now I wouldn’t want it

@Viper: the documentary is the best. I’m sad that this is the final episode this Sunday. MJ’s suits look amazing. I actually disagree as far as his height in a baseball uniform. I get a taller impression (physically) from Darryl Strawberry than I do MJ. Strawberry was a true 6’5” guy maybe even a hair over the mark. I would still put Jordan at 6’4.5 or so. He looked similar to how Matt Ryan looks in appearance in my opinion

Here they list Jordan at 6’5” and this is his Junior year when he was likely done growing. If he were really 6’5” plus barefoot, he would be listed 6’6” more than likely. I’m willing to be money that he was 6’4.5” barefoot or maybe 1/8” taller and when he came to North Carolina was under 6’4” barefoot. He likely grew

That pic Duhon posted showing the difference between Jordan and a 6'1.5" Obama shows a solid 4-5 inch height difference. I'd say 6'6" peak height, and likely still that tall, or no more than 1/4 less.
Canson said on 27/Apr/20
In this pic if Obama is the full 6’1”, Jordan looks 194-195 range. He also looks it when Obama is putting the medal on him. It’s odd that I was listening to iHeart Radio today in the office and heard Colin Cowherd interview Roy Williams and he said Jordan was 6’4.5 freshman year and 6’6 sophomore year. I don’t know if Jordan really grew and they measured him in shoes when he first got there or if he just said it for effect

I would give Jordan 6' 4 1/2" for sure. He is lanky and long so he looks really tall. I'm regular 6' 3" flat, but lean and I look taller than I am. Jordan has giant hands and a huge head, his feet are small for his height. I was a huge 90's Bulls fan and around Pippen and Rodman, Jordan fits 6' 4 1/2" with an extra 1" from his Nikes. I wonder what Pippen's take on Jordan's height is...

I agree with your estimate of 6’4.5” and prob like 6’5.25” out of bed. But I don’t think Jordan’s head was that big for his size and I’m around the same height at 6’4.25” and my foot size is similar to his. But agreed Looked around 1.5-2” shorter than Rodman and 2 shorter than Pippen. I guessed Pippen around 6’6.5-6’7 (i try to see 6’7 but it’s hard). and Rodman 6’6-6’6.5. Pippen just didn’t look the full thing with a 6’9-6’10 Toni Kukoc or a maximum 6’9” Horace Grant. What were your guesses for those two in person?

My bad meant to say Editor Rob and also meant to say he looks slightly shorter than a 6’5 range guy like Harper and with him or with Bird he looks 194-195 too
Canson said on 17/Dec/19
@Editot Rob: He really should be lowered at least 1/4” to 6’4.75 if Kobe is at that. Since he had 6’4 7/8 maybe that’s ok for him but If you see him with Ron Harper or Larry Bird or other 194-195 guys he’s the same size. Maybe 6’4 7/8 is the college measurement since they do measure early morning like I received in the past when I played in college. But he’s Not a full 6’5” guy in the afternoon. I believe the 6’4.5 that he measured as a rookie is his afternoon height or maybe 194.5 at most but 195 is almost accurate if going by lunchtime. He’s likely within 1/2 cm of it after 5 hours of being awake (194.6 around lunch perhaps and 194.3 afternoon or 194.8 and 194.5 afternoon). Seeing him with Damon Wayans he also looked 194-195 range same with 6’9” Larry bird

Canson said on 3/Nov/19
@Rob: 6’4.75 or 6’4 7/8 for him being he only measured 6’4 7/8 before? Really he did measure 6’4.5 too but if that’s too low the 6’4 7/8 is a more accurate listing if you’re gonna list Barkley that way

@Joe: I didn’t think Melo dipped under 198 in person. He looks taller than most guys who are measured around 6’6”. Example Paul Pierce. Pierce I could see 197-197.5 range. Maybe 6’5.75. My guess is 6’5 7/8 could be an extreme low for Melo but 6’6 1/8 is what I could say. Anywhere 6’6-6’6.25. Of course I’m at the mercy of having to trust how long someone has been awake and on their feet

Just saying MJ worst lowest could be 6'4 5/8 and i have see him look a solid 4cm taller than D Wade. Wade i can could agree with Canson now he is 6'3 a low which link back to 6'6 Carmelo often look 3" on Wade. Or could say MJ never lost anything yet as he was always 194.5cm a low and Kobe Bryant 195cm a low just like i wonder there is always a fraction between them and i would specifically throw Barkley into 194.75cm worst low just in between MJ and Kobe. Making some sense as Pat Riley mention MJ measure 6'4 1/2 that could be donkey years ago during his drafted year and grow a bit or a fraction over, 1980s drafted players might be measure in the afternoon we wouldn't know that for sure like on the sights of Pat Riley sees MJ as 6'4 1/2 a low but MJ could be close to 6'4 5/8 since he was always bald. Worst MJ could be 6'4 1/2 now but not under it.
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
@Mark D: peoole don’t accept you being 6’4? Is 6’4.5 your afternoon/evening height? I measure 6’4.25 (6’5 out of bed) myself and while some people think I’m taller due to the way I’m built I don’t always have an issue when I say I’m 6’4 which is all I ever claim.
Canson said on 5/Oct/19
If Rodman is 6’6 or 6’6.5 like he claims and like Pippen and Jordan said he is then there is no way Jordan is 6’5.5. Rodman was at least 1.5 if not 2” taller than jordan. Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing have both said (along with Charles barkley) that Jordan is 6’4-6’5”. He was measured 6’4.5 when he was drafted

Being 6'4.5" and calling myself 6'5" because people wouldn't accept me saying 6'4" to round it off, I can say though I've not met Jordan, in pictures I see of him standing next to various people he looks to be around 6'5.5". In good shape with normal posture so he hasn't lost any now. The 6'6" was a simple rounding up in my opinion.
Canson said on 29/Sep/19
@Tunman: I understand what you’re saying. But when Kobe came into the league Jordan at 33 would’ve still likely been at his peak. I don’t argue the 6’4.75 listing for Kobe being his low and Jordan may have been 6’4 5/8”, but Pat Riley saying He’s 6’4.5” shouldn’t be seen as bitterness. People need to stop thinking just because someone says a person isn’t as tall as they claim or they say that person is shorter than they are, that they’re hating on them. Riley was answering the reporter’s inquiries as to why he wasn’t drafted over Olajuwon and Bowie. And Riley saying someone’s actual height is just him doing that. Riley was known as being very honest during his career. He wasn’t going to lie, either. He wasn’t slighting Jordan and people shouldn’t see it that way being it’s just his height not his character. People assume when someone claims someone’s actual height that they try to make someone shorter when they’re not. And furthermore, I honestly don’t think Riley had a problem with Jordan per se. remember, Pat Riley retired Jordan’s jersey with the Heat which is the grandest of gestures bring Jordan never once played for the franchise. He’s the only person other than the Bulls to do so and Jordan is the only player who never once played for a franchise to have his uniform retired by them. Riley did not hate Jordan all that much as he didnt have to do that. And that was early on. If he really had reason to hate MJ it would’ve been in the 90s when Riley coached the Knicks and Heat. But Riley calling him 6’4.5” was just answering (in an honest manner) why he wasn’t drafted first and he was likely either giving an exact or maybe just approximate measurement. Riley has met him so he could give an assessment as to how tall he was. Next to Larry Bird I tend to believe 6’4.5” and having played ball myself through college that’s common for a guy to be listed 6’6” and be as low as 6’4 or 6’4.25 as the same happened to me. But Jordan being listed 6’4.75 would look much better than 6’5” imho because that could’ve very well been at 5 hours for him and maybe dip to 6’4 5/8 perhaps. 6’4.5 tho or .75 would work imho

6'4.75 for Kobe is fair and so is it for Jordan.I still think a peak Jordan and Kobe could have been reasonably the same.6'4 5/8?Not impossible you can argue that but I'm still convinced he was measured at evening and had only little height to lose so 6'4.75 still makes sense.I would take Riley's words carefully though as he seemed quite bitter towards Jordan,so maybe tried to undermine his height to 6'4.5(although maybe he was a little over?)195 is the best compromise if you ask me.
Canson said on 27/Sep/19
Kobe should not be listed 195 and Jordan 196. They should be the same at 195 or Jordan at 6’4.5” being he also measured that mark. He’s not taller than Kobe

@Shane: my money in his prime he was actually 6’4.5 or max 6’4 5/8 (something like 194.5cm). But I agree with you that he’s def under 6’5 afternoon height. I think 6’4.75 is a fair listing for him as it’s clear he’s not taller than Kobe. If anything I think Kobe would actually edge him as he really does look the 6’4.75 afternoon height
