The name certainly affected my perception, I always thought he was probably only 5 ft 4 or 5 or something! Speaking of 5 ft 4, isn't Van Morrison still missing Rob?

5’9.5” is not little today, let alone in the 1950s. I read somewhere he was called that from his small stature as a child/young man.

Yeah, sounds like it came from his childhood days.
