English radio DJ and actor, best remembered for The Kenny Everett Television Show. In a biography about his life, the author described him as "five-foot-five", although in Piers Morgan: The Classic Interviews he gave his height as "5ft 6in."

I was just thinking of Kenny Everett and his funny TV shows and radio programmes.

I loved the kenny everett show it was a scream when times were not the easiest with the thatcher goverment in power but kenny was in a class of his own. He was just mental, nuts, billy connelly said "i loved him he was such a laugh, we could never rehearse anything becouse of kenny he just made you laugh none stop, he was a total scream. This wee skinny fellow jumping around the stage. It was a great time" i thought kenny was at least 5'7" or 8" rip kenny you were one of the best!!!!

I recall on the Kenny Everett Video Show when the comedian used to laugh like a drain and then follow it up with "That's not funny at all!" π
Loads of stars were happy to appear on his crazy show and one of them was none other than Queen singer Freddie Mercury.
No, he didn't sing - he merely fooled around with Kenny!

5ft5. I was never aware Kenny was quite so small when I watched his show or saw him introduce Top of the Pops. In fact, it wasn't something I was fully aware of until I saw it printed here! Beforehand, I'd have assumed he was around 5ft7.
Bless him - he sent me a Capital Radio t-shirt, as did tiny DJ Nicky Horne, who was only 5ft3, and used to have a 9 o'clock slot on Capital Radio called 'Your Mother Wouldn't Like It', which was devoted solely to heavy rock music.
My Mum DID like it; she didn't have much choice! On Saturday evenings, Nicky held a phone-in called 'Six Of The Best', in which rock fans could vote for their favourite songs from a particular category - often with a very funny title. I got through on that show twice and years later, my friend Bert said he'd heard me, adding that he didn't think any people from my neck of the woods were into 'that type of music'. π― Yes, I used to live in an area with a rather reserved, stuck-up reputation, but nowadays, that fact simply doesn't apply as loads of ruffians have moved in, more's the pity.
Cuddly Kenny gets 5ft5. ππΏππΏπ

I've always found the name Kenny such a friendly little name, and Mr Everett was friendliness personified.
When he came out with his terminal illness, there were crowds of people waiting for him outside the Capital Radio studios to wish him well. (1992, if I remember rightly.)
No, I never met him, alas, but at least I had the honour of speaking to the DJ over the radio. ποΈπΏπΏ
5ft5.25 π

You'd never guess what I heard Kenny got up to with John Lennon in Sundridge Park Golf Course? I used to live very nearby, and I heard reports of their 'uncontrollably giggly behaviour' from the locals!
I'd loved to have joined them, but I was probably a bit young for 'that sort of thing!'
Anyway, legend has it....! πππ
The lovable Kenny gets 5ft5. He used to play some crackin' sounds on his radio show on Capital Gold.

I am proud to say that Kenny corrupted me totally as a teenage boy through the Video, and, later, the Television show. I still have a penchant for ladies in stockings and suspenders, LOL. Taken way before his time, he was so slight of frame I guess he had no hope of fighting off what ultimately killed him. Genius of a man at a time when conformity was king. RIP Maurice.

Much shorter than I thought...

Yes, amidst my excitement yesterday, I didn't explain that the T-shirt was part of a Capital Gold phone-in!

Me oh my! This wonderful little chap was the first to get my heart a-pumping after I lost my very dear boyfriend. He also sent me a Captal Radio T Shirt (Small, of course!)
Well, Rob! It's wonderful to see him here!
I give him 5ft5.25 - and a tremendous few inches for his terrific sense of humour!
I'll be back! xxxxx
