In many ways, Jurgen comes over as very nice in ‘The Seventh Sign’, but he’s still creepy.
His story about the sparrow suddenly appearing in Demi’s and Michael’s home having something to do with where a newborn baby’s soul comes from, the place in Heaven being called ‘a guff’ 😂, is downright weird. My word, I haven’t seen this for AGES!

Jurgen does look rather tall and lanky in the opening scene of ‘The Seventh Sign’, from 1988, when he’ll have been 46/47. I actually don’t doubt the 6ft I found for him while rooting
around to see what he’s starred in. I’ve found a copy of ‘The Seventh Sign’ on Amazon, a film I’ve wanted for ages. It’s thanks to Caroline Munro’s Cellar Club that I finally got off my backside and made the effort! Thanks Caroline! 👏
6ft.

English: Yes, he was one of Europe's most prominent actors in the 70s and 80s. One of those familiar faces which pop up in films whether European or American. Always looked close to 6 ft, 1.82m is probably accurate.

Oh, brilliant one Rob! You've actually got Jurgen Prochnow listed on Celebheights!
I keep seeing him pop up in some reliably excellent films, the latest one being 'The Da Vinci Code'. Other notable roles of his are 'In The Mouth of Madness', in which he starred with Sam Neill and sent shivers down my spine he was so creepy, The Seventh Sign, a copy of which I'm going to hunt down after this film and Madonna's 'Body of Evidence', all of which are good enough to add to his acting credits because, apart from 'The Da Vinci Code' which I am watching now and has me hooked, the other three that I mentioned are the ones that turned my head as to how bloody good he is!
That he's in 'The Da Vinci Code' makes a great deal of sense, because Jurgen doesn't go in for the mundane and ordinary. He can be quite a chilling actor, especially when he smiles! I thought he was anything from 5ft11-6ft, and to find out that he is bang in the middle has made me slightly proud and vaguely amused! The scary parts don't often go to tiny guys, or so I thought until I saw David Lynch's 'Lost Highway' and saw Robert Blake scare the pants off me and he's only 5ft4!
Shall I go along with 5ft11, which is more in tune with the average, or agree with what I originally thought? I should keep in mind that I am basing my guesswork on films from the 80's, except for 'The Da Vinci Code', which is from 2006. I'll give Jurgen 5ft11.25, because he's holding up well with the 6ft Tom Hanks.

He has popped up in a fair few films during his career! I never even realised he was now age 77...my goodness, time does go by fast.
Big Iona was visiting today to make some Shaun the Sheep cards with Jenny
Iona was born in June 2004.
CelebHeights was born September 2004!
CelebHeights is even older (albeit by 5 months) than Youtube! 😲

He doesn't really look at all tall in his films, my offhand guess would've been 5'9".
So I Googled around, and see him standing next to 5'4" Glenn Close, while looking no more than 3" taller than her. Assuming she's in high heels, Prochnow really is about 5'9".
You can also see pics of him looking 1.5 to 2" shorter than 5'11" Kyle MacLachlan in Dune.
Arch Stanton said on 14/Feb/15
I wasn't sure though if Kyle had boot advantage. The props and costumes for tat film were dodgy to say the least, did you see Sting's orange hair LOL. There was a scene where he briefly stood next to Sydow though where I thought the difference looked a little less than 4 inches. It's certainly not one of Lynch's best films but it does have a certain charm if you can tolerate that sort of genre hehe!

visually great, storywise it was fine, but you put that in the cinema today most teens would fall asleep after 20 minutes. I dug it out this moment and I do think he could have been a 182 guy.

Those boots, the bare upper legs and that biker chick low vest with her guns really make her look badass. Wild. As you say, no wonder he had such a devilish grin on his face :-).
Arch Stanton said on 13/Feb/15
He was also in The Da Vinci Code I think but I can't remember him in it. He's one of those actors who are off most people's radars I think but a familiar face.
Arch Stanton said on 13/Feb/15
Rob did you watch him in something which prompted the slight downgrade? Not going to argue with it, but he could look a bit of 6' with Sydow. I can't remember how he looked with Eddie Murphy though. I've not really studied his height much, but I noticed him in Das Boot and then in Dune when he looked around 6 ft.
Editor Rob
I believe he was edged out by Kyle MacLachlan in Dune.

how tall is the wife
Arch Stanton said on 3/Feb/15
Is that his wife in the above picture? She looks like she'd be pretty wild, very rock chick looking! :-)
Editor Rob
no wonder the bloke has a big grin on his face, although I think a former wife now...
Arch Stanton said on 29/Jan/15
6' flat seems the best shout, thanks for this, you've got most of his major roles nailed down I think. He could look 184 with Sydow in Dune though. 6'1" was probably a shoe measurement. Not sure what he is today, might be nearer 5'11".
