How tall is Julie London

Nah, no chance of 5 ft 3, see her in the 50s films, no more than 5 ft 2 and possibly as low as 5 ft 1 range. Intimidating personality though for her height and looking at her in some photos you would never think she was small. When Bennett Cerf hosted What's My Line? one time in 1957,5'3" Julie London was the mystery guest. (Just for the record,Peter Lind Hayes whacked a 60 foot "Hail Mary" shot at the gun to nail her.) Then she reappeared as WML mystery guest in 1959 and this time out,Tom Poston nailed Julie on the 10th clue. Her third WML mystery guest appearance was in 1961,this time guessed by Sam Levenson,who earlier nailed contestant Frank Skaff,then manager of the Detroit Tigers New York/Pennsylvania League Class A Elmira,N.Y.team. Then he spent the second half in the 1966 Detroit Tigers "Season Of Tragedy" team. How they finished 3rd with the team butchered by injuries,illness,players being snatched for military duty,fear of young Tigers getting "drafted" to serve in the Vietnam War,personal tragedy,being very young,very little depth,and losing two managers TO DEATH is beyond me! 1966 was the first year I became a Detroit Tigers fan. Yet I always thought Julie was 5'6" or 5'7",but she was gorgeous in that picture. (Oddly enough,after Tom Poston guessed Julie in 1959 on her second WML mystery guest appearance,he told WML host John Daly,"Julie's 5'3",John." Then he mentioned when sweetheart Florence Henderson made a To Tell The Truth panel appearance in 1964,he gave away Florence was just 5'3",which she was. She scored best on Emergency! from 1972-1977.

That was the biggest surprise. In most of the pictures I’ve seen she looked so tall to me I would have guessed about half a foot taller. How looks and dresses can deceive!

Possibly 5'1.5, I've seen her in some late 50s films and she is surprisingly short.

Rob, can you add Fly Me to the Moon as one of her songs as well, I think her's and Frank's are arguably the best versions.

Nice one!!! Great to see. Can you add The Wonderful Country, Tap Roots, The Red House, Task Force, The Girl Can't Help It, The Great Man and Night of the Quarter Moon and mentions songs "Cry Me a River", "Black Coffee", "When I Fall in Love", "Fly Me To the Moon, "Round Midnight", "Misty", "You Go to My Head", "My Heart Belongs to Daddy" and "Blue Moon".

I initially wasn't sure she looked as low as 5 ft 1 either, in fact I used to think she was at least average but I did scrutinize her in Man of the West and she could look as low as that at times. A number of people stepped up and said she was 5'1" max I think. Not going to argue with 5'2", but others might!
