What a silly young girl Joanne portrays in 'Coronation Street' back in the late 90s.
Anyone can understand that she, as a naΓ―ve 16 year old who's sold her baby girl for 2 measly thousand pounds, now wants the child back, but to take her away from the foster parents and turn up on the doorstep of the birth father, a boy who can't even afford electric lighting so has to use candles, and then accompany him to the pub for a drink, leaving the child in all manner of danger, is beyond belief. I hope nothing awful happens. π
Joanne looks tiny next to nearly all the actors. In fact, she doesn't mix with anyone who isn't much taller in the Street. If I hadn't remembered her height, I'd have believed 5ft1 or less, but I know her to be 5ft2, so that's what she gets.

Joanne is starring in the Classic version of 'Coronation Street'. (1997) She plays a pregnant young girl and she's just borrowed a tenner from Judy -to buy a big bottle of vodka, which she's drinking in the ginnel. She's only a week away from giving birth. Can't she wait?
A young and equally foolish Leanne has bumped into her and now they're drinking and smoking together!
5ft2. π£...π΅π΅

* I came to the end of the two part play this morning, and the poor young woman played by Joanne died at just 34 - from a brain hemorrhage.

What a lovely, sophisticated photo the top one is! The one below is more of a 'fun girls night out' look!
I am watching Joanne at this present moment in the TV production/film 'See No Evil', about the atrocious Moore's murders. Joanne is also playing a victim in that her role is that of Hindley's sister. Imagine living knowing you're related to someone like that? I know that Maureen, the sister's, life was cut short, doubtless due to such an enormous burden; how absolutely terrible.
Well, the most I would have said for Joanne is 5ft2! That is actually what I'd settled for before coming to this page, but I would have rounded her down rather than up if I'd had to do one or the other!
She wears a lovely dark wig in this, all bouncy and glossy and thick, offering her the look of a couple more inches to the untrained eye, but I don't fall for that one anymore! I still think it looks nice though!
I've seen Joanne in other things, but not Downton Abbey, and I know she's normally blonde. I think the dark suits her just as much!
So a full 5ft2 it is then!
